Chapter 132 - Chapter 132 – Brother Xu’s Word Is the Reason

"Auntie, don't worry."

Xu Mu took out his phone, dialed a number, and said firmly into it,

"Get down here—help me fire someone."

Then he hung up.

Hearing that, Wu Shengqi climbed up from the floor, sneering.

"Kid, who do you think you are? You're gonna fire me? The HR manager's is my man!"

Xu Mu narrowed his eyes slightly. Something wasn't right.

A branch company on the verge of collapse—and it still had such a tangled web of internal connections?

He activated his Divine Eye to inspect Wu Shengqi's information.

Name: Wu Shengqi

Identity: Servant of the Feng Family of Jiangbei; Administrative Supervisor of Xu Group's Yang City Branch

Favorability: -90

Fate Level: 1 (Max: 10)

Well, well.

Xu Mu couldn't help but grin.

So the Divine Eye had this kind of functionality too. It would make identifying traitors and moles in the company a lot easier.

Of course, it had its limits.

For instance, Qian Gang earlier—he had no official ties to the Feng Family, only secretly worked for Feng Yue, so the Eye wouldn't have revealed that.

Still, it was an incredibly useful tool—and cost him nothing to use.

"Xiao Xu, let's just leave," Li Yun whispered, holding onto his arm.

If the HR manager really was connected to that man, even if Xu Mu helped her get in, she'd be fired again soon anyway.

So what was the point of working here?

"Auntie, just wait," Xu Mu said, glancing at her.

"Alright," she nodded firmly, seeing the conviction in his eyes.

"You little brat, I'll make sure you regret being born!" Wu Shengqi barked, glaring around at the nearby security guards.

"Don't move! I want to see who dares fire me!"

"Li Yun, apologize to Manager Wu," Zheng Yan interjected. "You've offended the wrong man—this won't end well for you."

Li Yun didn't even look at her. Not a single word.

"You really don't know what's good for you," Zheng Yan snorted.

Ding!

Just then, the elevator chimed, and the doors slid open.

Wu Shengqi smirked toward the entrance.

"Old Zhang, I—"

But his words froze mid-sentence.

The man who stepped out wasn't from HR—it was Liu Wei, the general manager of the Yang City branch.

"Director Liu, this kid—"

Wu rushed forward, but Liu Wei didn't even glance at him. He strode straight toward Xu Mu instead.

"Brother Xu, what brings you here so early?"

Liu Wei, a man in his fifties with a square face and glasses, smiled respectfully.

Brother Xu?

Wu Shengqi's face went blank.

He knew perfectly well that the Xu Group's founder was Xu Shou.

And Xu Shou had only one son…

Oh no.

Cold sweat broke down his back.

"Liu Wei, who is he?"

Xu Mu first used the Divine Eye to check Liu Wei's profile—no issues. Only then did he point at Wu Shengqi and ask.

"Oh, he's our Administrative Supervisor," Liu Wei explained calmly.

"He doesn't work here anymore."

Xu Mu's tone was flat, but it was an order.

"Understood. Wu Shengqi, hand over your work. You'll receive all your due compensation."

Liu Wei's expression didn't change as he spoke.

Zheng Yan stood frozen.

What just happened?

He lost his job—with just a single sentence?

She'd spent nearly fifty thousand yuan in gifts, and even debased herself to satisfy Wu's disgusting tastes, all to get a position here.

But Wu had been a shameless man—he never let her join the company, saying,

"You're already fifty and I've never played the bottom lane before."

Humiliated, she had tricked Li Yun into coming yesterday.

Now, after all that, Wu Shengqi was done—after just one day?

"You're not even asking me for a reason?" Xu Mu said, hands in his pockets.

"Brother Xu is the reason," Liu Wei replied immediately.

He didn't dare say more. This was the Young Master Xu, the one Xu Shou spoiled endlessly. Angering him meant losing his job next.

"Don't flatter me yet—I'll give you a reason. Take a look at the kind of trash you've been hiring!"

Xu Mu turned toward Li Yun.

"Auntie, tell him what happened yesterday."

Li Yun nodded and summarized the entire incident.

Liu Wei's face darkened instantly. He spun around and glared coldly at Wu Shengqi.

"You've got some nerve. Who gave you the right to ruin someone's livelihood like that? What do you think you are?"

"Director Liu! They're lying! They're framing me!" Wu Shengqi shouted, panicking.

"Framing, my ass!"

Zheng Yan, realizing the situation, switched sides immediately.

A woman like her wasn't stupid—after all the gifts and humiliation, she could tell the young man before her was no ordinary person.

If she wanted to save herself, she needed to expose everything.

"Wu Shengqi's got more crimes than just that!" she cried.

She explained everything—from how she was lured and used to how he blackmailed her with recordings.

Through tears, she added, "If you don't believe me, check his phone! He keeps videos of us—he's been threatening me with them!"

Liu Wei stretched out his hand. "Didn't you say they were lying? Hand me your phone."

Wu Shengqi froze.

He'd filmed plenty—and it was far too late to delete them now.

Thud!

His knees gave out as he collapsed to the floor, feeling the sky fall on him.

He had started as a lowly servant of the Feng Family, treated like a dog—ordered around and humiliated.

After becoming a mole inside Xu Group, drawing two salaries—one from Feng, one from Xu—he had felt powerful for the first time in his life.

Now, if he lost this job, he'd go back to being a dog. He couldn't accept that!

Xu Mu turned to a nearby security guard.

"He said he's got connections in HR. That true?"

The young guard, realizing Xu Mu's identity, bowed slightly.

"Yes, sir. He said the HR manager works for him."

Liu Wei's face went pale.

"The branch doesn't even need to make profits—it gets direct funding from HQ every year. Being general manager must've been comfortable, huh?"

Xu Mu's gaze grew cold as he stared Liu Wei down.

The man trembled.

"Brother Xu, it's not me! The HR manager was appointed by Chairman Xu himself!"

Li Yun and Zheng Yan were both stunned.

This man is the general manager?

And he's speaking to Xu Mu like that?

Then who exactly was Xu Mu?

Li Yun could hardly believe it—what kind of man had she really met?

Meanwhile, Zheng Yan's face twisted with jealousy.

How unfair—both single mothers, yet Li Yun met a young, handsome, and wealthy man, while she got stuck with a disgusting old pervert.

"Call him here," Xu Mu ordered coldly.

"Yes, sir!"

Liu Wei immediately took out his phone and sent a message.

Soon, a man in a tailored suit hurried out of the elevator.

He looked around thirty-five, with black-rimmed glasses and a neatly styled perm. Despite his small eyes, he clearly took good care of himself.

Xu Mu used the Divine Eye again:

Name: Zhang Shuaikai

Identity: Illegitimate son of the Feng Family's Chairman in Jiangbei; HR Manager of Xu Group's Yang City Branch

Favorability: -30

Fate Level: 1 (Max: 10)

Xu Mu's eyes narrowed.

The Feng Family's chairman—wasn't that Feng Kang?

Feng Yue was his illegitimate daughter. Now this man was his illegitimate son?

The man sure was prolific.

Just like Feng Yue, this Zhang Shuaikai must've been planted years ago, during the Xu–Feng corporate war—a hidden mole inside Xu Group.

Which meant he was simmering with resentment.

Feng Yue at least bore the Feng name, but this guy didn't even get that much.

Perfect, Xu Mu thought. He'd use that resentment—then destroy the Feng Family from the inside out.
