Chapter 135 - Chapter 135: I Am Qin Shi Huang

"Boss, we don't know who it was…"

The scar-faced man was speaking when he noticed the black muzzle now pointed straight at his head.

He stammered, "But… I have a rough idea. If I'm not wrong, it should be Feng Jian from the Feng family."

Xu Mu frowned. He had originally thought it might be someone from the Dai family, but he hadn't expected Feng Jian.

Still, he wasn't foolish enough to believe everything he was told.

He stepped closer to the scar-faced man. "Did they pay you yet?"

"Not yet, only the deposit."

"Call them. Tell them the job's done."

When Xu Mu was about a meter away, he raised the gun to the man's head.

The scar-faced man didn't dare resist. Trembling, he took out his phone and made the call.

"Put it on speaker," Xu Mu instructed.

As soon as he did, a voice came from the other end. "How'd it go?"

"Brother Huang, it's… it's done," the scar-faced man said nervously, glancing at Xu Mu. "All three of his legs are broken — he'll never be a man again."

"Good! Send me the photo. I'll forward it to Young Master Feng. You'll get the money right away."

The man on the other end chuckled. "Ditch your car and lay low out of town for a while."

"Got it."

The scar-faced man hung up.

Xu Mu nodded slightly. So it really was Feng Jian.

He sneered inwardly. Seems it's time to make my move. The Feng family dares to target me? Do they really think I'm still the brainless Xu Mu I used to be?

"Since you were honest, I'll let you live."

With that, Xu Mu holstered the Desert Eagle.

Dealing with the Fengs wouldn't take much — just him alone was enough. But for now, with his current level, he couldn't yet act openly against the "cleaner's authority."

Still, he had a few cards in hand more than enough to crush the Feng family.

Sitting back in his car, Xu Mu's eyes grew cold. He was the type to return every favor and every grudge in kind.

If Feng Jian wanted to come after him — then Xu Mu would repay the favor.

"Feng family… let's see how long you can last."

He gave a faint, chilling smile and drove back toward Jiang City.

Meanwhile—

Feng Jian and Dai Xiao were lounging in a luxury KTV private room.

Besides the two of them, the rest were all women.

A few women danced seductively before the big screen, while both men had women sitting on either side of them. Expensive liquor covered the table in front of them.

"Young Master Dai! My men succeeded!"

Feng Jian grinned, looking at his phone, and whispered to Dai Xiao beside him.

"Hahaha! Well done! That Xu Mu — he really thinks having a few good-selling products makes him invincible?"

Dai Xiao sneered. "Trying to steal my woman? I'll make him a eunuch!"

The young woman beside Dai Xiao pulled out her phone, intending to take a picture of the fancy liquor on the table.

Dai Xiao suddenly slapped her across the face, snatched the phone, and tossed it into a wine glass.

"Never heard the saying? Have fun all you want — but no photos in a KTV."

He took a drag from his cigarette, then flicked the half-burned stick into the same glass. "Drink it."

The young woman covered her face, trembling.

"Young Master Dai, she's new — she doesn't know better," said the older woman on his other side, pressing her chest against his arm flirtatiously.

Then she glared at the younger woman. "What are you waiting for? Drink!"

Tears welled up in the young woman's eyes, but she still picked up the glass and downed it in one go.

Feng Jian narrowed his eyes — this Dai Xiao really was ruthless.

From what Feng Jian knew, Dai Xiao had committed plenty of illegal acts, but there was never any evidence.

Though a rich playboy, his methods were far beyond ordinary.

"You're the sensible one," Dai Xiao said, glancing down at the older woman's chest. "Too bad it's fake. I prefer the real thing."

He thought of Mu Qingying and Xu Ningbing. Those two women — he would have them no matter what.

When Xu Mu exited the highway, he saw several police cars at the toll gate.

As soon as the officers saw his license plate, they raised a hand to stop him.

Xu Mu rolled down the window with a smile. "What's wrong?"

"Step out for inspection!"

A man in his thirties ordered sharply.

Though surprised, Xu Mu complied and got out.

Moments later, another police car arrived — and from it came several men.

Among them was the scar-faced man, limping out with the help of one of his underlings.

He pointed straight at Xu Mu. "That's him! He shot me! He's got a firearm!"

Xu Mu froze for a second, then shook his head with a faint sigh. I really was too soft-hearted.

He hadn't expected them to report him — clever move, honestly.

"I'm Officer Yang from Yang City PD. I suspect you possess a lethal weapon. Please submit to a search."

A female officer stepped out of the scar-faced man's car.

She had shoulder-length hair, around twenty-five years old, with a clean face, a high nose bridge, and cherry-red lips.

A faint, confident smile played at her mouth — the look of someone about to claim a big win.

Clearly, she was the one who'd alerted Jiang City police to intercept him at the toll.

Xu Mu nodded lightly. "Sure. I'll cooperate."

The woman eagerly began to search him from head to toe, then frowned slightly. "Open your car doors."

"Of course." Xu Mu nodded again.

She climbed into the car, meticulously checking every corner.

She even dismantled parts of the interior — but found nothing.

Xu Mu smiled faintly. His gun had long been stored away in his personal dimensional space; there was no chance she'd ever find it.

"Miss Officer, you seem to lack basic logic. I took one look at that scarred man and could tell he's no good, yet you believe him and accuse me of having a weapon?"

Xu Mu gave the scar-faced man a cold glance. The man's body trembled, and he immediately looked down, afraid to meet his eyes.

Without evidence or a weapon, he was doomed.

The only reason he'd dared to call the police was his gamble — that Xu Mu would've kept the gun on him. After all, who would just toss such a thing away?

But he hadn't expected Xu Mu to be clean.

Now, if Xu Mu didn't go down… he would.

Desperate, the man's mind raced, trying to find any way to survive.

The female officer's expression hardened as she came back to search Xu Mu again.

"Hahaha! What an adorable officer — one word from me and you brought me all these guards!"

The scar-faced man suddenly burst out laughing like a lunatic. "All of you, kneel! I am Qin Shi Huang!"

The female officer's eyes went cold. She stormed up, grabbed his collar, and snapped, "You dare lie to me?"

"Silence, wench! How dare you speak to your emperor like that!" the scar-faced man roared. "Guards! Behead her!"

"Boss…"

His henchmen froze, completely dumbfounded.

He'd been fine moments ago — now suddenly he was acting insane.

Only Xu Mu knew the truth — the scar-faced man was a smart one.
