Chapter 226: Coming to Watch the Match

Xiao Deng and the others had just landed when they saw a few people not far away.

It looked like they had just arrived as well. When the other party saw the three of them, their eyes lit up, and they immediately ran over.

"Xiao Deng, you guys came too. You're quite early."

Xiao Deng smiled.

"Look who's talking. Didn't you and Pansy arrive just as early?"

"I actually thought you two would arrive a bit later. After all, you guys..."

As he said this, Xiao Deng pressed his two thumbs together, and the silent Pansy behind immediately blushed.

Malfoy also felt a bit embarrassed and grabbed Xiao Deng's hand.

"Xiao Deng, what are you saying!"

Having already experienced life's pleasures, Ginny couldn't help but cover her mouth and giggle upon hearing what Xiao Deng said.

Harry felt a bit exhausted. What on earth are you all talking about?

"Good morning, Malfoy, Pansy."

Harry's greeting broke the awkward silence, and Malfoy quickly took the opportunity to change the subject.

"Oh, Potter~"

"Did you have a good holiday?"

Harry nodded.

"It was alright. You know, life at Xiao Deng's place is pretty good."

Before they could finish, a large crowd of people came walking over from the distance.

It was the Weasley Family, with the red-haired Arthur leading the way.

As soon as Mrs. Weasley saw Ginny, a smile appeared on her face, and Ginny quickly rushed into Mrs. Weasley's arms.

"Oh, my baby~"

"Did you have a pleasant holiday?"

"When Ron told me you were going out to play by yourself, I was scared to death."

"It's a good thing you only went to Xiao Deng's house. If it had been anyone else's home, I definitely wouldn't have agreed."

Ginny hugged Mrs. Weasley back.

"Mommy, I'm doing great!"

"Brother Xiao Deng is one of our own; how could he treat me badly?"

"Brother Xiao Deng takes me to eat delicious food and go out to play every day."

Mrs. Weasley's gaze softened significantly when she looked at Xiao Deng; she had always been fond of this child.

He hadn't disappointed her now, and he was able to take good care of her child.

Ron pursed his lips as he watched the scene before him.

"I feel like Xiao Deng is more like the real son than I am."

Arthur glared at Ron.

"What are you saying!"

"You are definitely my real son in the Weasley Family. At least he doesn't have red hair."

"He's just a little better behaved than you, has a bigger perspective than you, is a bit more handsome than you, is a bit smarter than you, is a bit..."

Ron scrunched up his face as he looked at his father. Is this supposed to be comforting?

Ron didn't really want to pay attention to his father right now, so he slowly walked over to Xiao Deng's side.

"Oh, Malfoy, doesn't your old man care that you're dating Pansy?"

Malfoy opened his mouth, then glanced at Arthur, who hadn't come over yet, and changed his words on the fly. Some things couldn't be said in front of the people involved; it was easy to cause misunderstandings.

"I haven't been home for several holidays. I've been at Xiao Deng's place, and I only went to Pansy's place this year."

"I don't know if my dad is bewitched or what. He definitely would have criticized me before, but these last few times I didn't go home, he actually approved."

Malfoy frowned as he looked at Ron.

"I only knew your Family had many children, but I never counted that there were actually seven!"

"Are they all your own?"

Ron glanced at Arthur and the others in the distance.

"Don't even mention it. Having too many people isn't great. I use the things my brothers don't want."

"Even my wand—if it weren't for Xiao Deng helping me get a new one, I'd still be using that old one."

Malfoy looked at Ron with a complex expression. Did this kid have any idea what having many children meant in the Wizarding World?

So many pure-blood families were now down to a single heir; one mistake and the Family line would be gone.

Right now, the most miserable one was probably the Potter Family.

Out of three generations of the Family, only Harry was left now.

If he were killed by the Dark Lord, then that was it—the Potter Family would be completely gone.

"Ron, I really want to ask, doesn't your Family have any other entertainment activities?"

Xiao Deng burst out laughing. No way, is this something you, the young master of the Malfoy Family, should be saying?

Good grief, it seems that when the two of them argue, it's not just Ron who is affected; Malfoy is no exception.

But these words... Xiao Deng glanced at Pansy. If there was absolutely nothing going on, Malfoy probably wouldn't have thought of that angle, right?

Just as Ron was about to reply, before he could even open his mouth, a figure instantly pounced on him.

Ron wasn't paying attention and was knocked to the ground by the person. Then, with wide eyes, he realized his mouth had been occupied.

Mrs. Weasley was still chatting and laughing with Ginny, but she was immediately shocked by the scene before her.

"Ar... Arthur, Ron... seems to have been attacked?"

Ginny burst out laughing.

"Mom and Dad, don't worry."

"That's Miss Brown, Brother Ron's... little girlfriend!"

"Girlfriend!"

"Girlfriend!"

The Weasleys looked at the two on the ground in shock.

They thought their youngest, clumsiest, and most oblivious son had actually started dating!

Percy didn't look shocked; he just frowned.

"What kind of look is it for a member of the Weasley Family to be sprawled out on the ground like this?"

"They're just kids, playing around is normal!"

Arthur wanted to step forward to smooth things over, but Percy cut him off.

"If the Family of a public official acts like this, what will others think of us?"

Fred spread his hands, looking sarcastic.

"What will they think of us?"

George immediately chimed in: "With their eyes!"

"But I don't quite understand. With such a big ego and official airs, it's a real pity you aren't the Minister for Magic!"

Percy's expression changed.

"What are you talking about!"

George ignored Percy and stepped forward to gently kick Ron's foot.

"What's wrong, Ronnie? Got tackled by a girl?"

George started the banter, and Fred immediately stepped up to deliver the finishing blow.

"You wouldn't be putting on a performance of making babies right here, would you?"

Mrs. Weasley slapped both brothers on the back of their heads.

"You have the nerve to talk about your brother? Your brother is already dating, what about you two?"

"Even if it were making babies, that would still be a child of the Weasley Family. What face do you have to talk about Ron?"

Arthur's expression stiffened. He looked around; there were only Malfoy and a few others.

Mrs. Weasley's words made sense, but they were a bit crude.

Arthur cleared his throat.

"I know you guys are playful and are involved in Xiao Deng's shop business."

"However, finding a partner is still very important. Ron is doing a great job!"

"You should learn from him!"

Ron had a head full of question marks. Is dating something you get praised for?

The slight anger he felt when looking at Miss Brown instantly dissipated.

Ginny saw Xiao Deng signaling to her and understood instantly.

She stepped forward, took hold of Miss Brown, and helped her up.

"Thanks!"

Ron finally climbed up from the ground, looking at his parents with some trepidation.

Mrs. Weasley gently patted Ron's clothes.

"Why didn't you tell the Family you were dating? Introduce her to us."

Knowing Ron's personality, Miss Brown introduced herself straightforwardly instead.

"Hello, Mr. Weasley, Mrs. Weasley. My name is Lavender Brown."

Chapter 227: Entering the Quidditch World Cup

Molly Weasley was all smiles; she had a very good impression of Brown.

"Hello, Miss Brown!"

"Ron is a bit of a stick-in-the-mud, so please bear with him."

Miss Brown agreed generously.

"I think Ron is great, I really like him."

Arthur nodded frequently at such a poised young lady.

His gaze towards Ron softened considerably; while he might be fussy about other things, he had done a truly good job finding a partner.

"Then let's head in!"

The Weasley Brothers, unable to stand their parents' nagging, came over to chat with Xiao Deng about products.

Hearing Arthur speak, they looked towards Xiao Deng.

"Mom and Dad are calling us, we'll head over first."

The Weasley Family all followed Arthur, intending to enter the venue.

When passing by Malfoy and Pansy, Arthur paused; thinking of Xiao Deng, he still offered a greeting.

"Please convey my regards to your families."

Malfoy and Pansy both bowed slightly in return.

Although Arthur led the others inside, Ron and Ginny stayed behind.

Malfoy slowly sidled up to Ron.

"Why is your Family so prolific?"

Ron looked at Malfoy, completely bewildered.

"How would I know that?"

Pansy appeared behind Malfoy without a sound.

"What if they're just naturally gifted? Unlike you!"

Malfoy immediately flushed red, gritting his teeth as he whispered:

"What's wrong with me? I'm very capable too!"

Oh ho! Some gossip and a good show!

Xiao Deng arrived at Malfoy's side with lightning speed.

Pansy glanced at Malfoy.

"I think you need to exercise more."

Oh my, that's a lot of subtext!

"Doesn't Xiao Deng know how to train people? Why don't you ask if Xiao Deng can train you?"

Malfoy grabbed Pansy, glaring at her.

"Are you trying to say I'm no good?"

"I didn't say that, you said it yourself; I just suggested you exercise more."

"I just hadn't experienced it that day!"

"I know."

"I was just in a bad state!"

"I understand."

Ron watched from the side, growing more confused by the second. Just as he opened his mouth to ask, Miss Brown covered his mouth with her hand.

Harry had grown up reading people's expressions; seeing that Miss Brown wouldn't let Ron ask, he decided he'd better keep his mouth shut and just watch for now.

Xiao Deng came up behind the now flushed Malfoy with a mischievous grin.

"Malfoy, I didn't think you were actually suffering from kidney deficiency?"

Malfoy's expression froze, and he turned his head stiffly to look at Xiao Deng.

"Bullshit! I'm so young, still in my prime..."

Xiao Deng interrupted Malfoy.

"Malfoy, is it possible that I'm also a Potions Master?"

Pansy's eyes lit up, and she immediately patted Malfoy on the shoulder.

"What are you doing? Hurry up and call him Godfather!"

Then she turned to look at Xiao Deng with an expectant Face.

"Xiao Deng, why didn't you mention you had such good stuff earlier?"

Xiao Deng brushed some non-existent dust off himself.

"I'll give it to you when I've made it."

"But it's just some stuff to help things along; the main thing is that Malfoy still needs to exercise."

Pansy slapped Malfoy's arm again.

"Did you hear that? The Potions Master told you to exercise."

Malfoy was miserable; Pansy hadn't been like this before!

Actually, Xiao Deng could see that Malfoy wasn't weak at all; the problem was just Pansy.

Once you get a taste of it, you know what I mean.

He still couldn't compare to Xiao Deng, who was always at full capacity.

But Malfoy wasn't a wand that any Wizard could just use; he needed some downtime.

Pansy's little resentment was understandable.

But who wouldn't want to tease their buddy about having weak stamina for their own amusement?

Guys, let me ask you, isn't your brother weaker than you?

At this moment, Ron looked at Xiao Deng.

"Xiao Deng, aren't we going in?"

Malfoy, with his sharp ears, immediately found an excuse.

"You little pauper, is your brain poor too?"

Ron was stunned for a moment before instantly getting into character.

"You little creep, say that again! What business is it of yours if I ask Xiao Deng, do you hear me?"

"Use that poor brain of yours and think, who else hasn't arrived? Who is Xiao Deng waiting for?"

"Hermione?"

"The poor brain is online!"

"Can't you talk properly, you creep, instead of just hissing like a gossip?"

"What does your stupidity have to do with me, you pauper?"

"Then don't hiss at me!"

"You pauper!"

"You Death Eater!"

"Your dad is a pauper too!"

"Your dad is a Death Eater too!"

"Your dad is a pauper!"

"Your dad is a Death Eater!"

...

Everyone couldn't help but cover their foreheads; these two had been arguing for years and were still at it.

Even the newcomer, Miss Brown, was speechless.

She had thought they were really fighting, but later realized this was just their mode of interaction, which was more consistent than her own kissing with Ron.

Harry nudged Xiao Deng with his elbow.

"So when is Hermione coming? If you don't go pick her up, she hasn't learned Apparition yet, has she?"

Xiao Deng smiled.

"It's fine, I cast a spell on her ticket."

"As long as she wants to come over, she can teleport directly here using the ticket."

As soon as he finished speaking, a flash of light appeared, and a figure materialized.

Hermione opened her eyes and found herself in a strange place, feeling a bit worried subconsciously.

But after seeing Xiao Deng, joy filled her heart, and she rushed towards him as fast as she could.

Xiao Deng didn't budge, easily absorbing all of Hermione's momentum.

The two embraced.

Pansy hooked her little finger at Malfoy; Malfoy looked back, but closed his eyes deeply.

He understood the look in Pansy's eyes; look at Xiao Deng, so steady, he didn't even sway when Hermione crashed into him like that.

Malfoy, who always cared about his Face, had his plate smashed to pieces by Pansy today.

The others might not have understood, but as soon as Xiao Deng said that, he knew he had definitely understood.

Xiao Deng took a look; basically everyone he gave a ticket to had arrived. The others must have come with their families, so there was no need to wait.

"It's about time, and it's getting dark. Since everyone is here, let's go in!"

The tickets Xiao Deng had were all for the top tier, so they were all together.

Only Malfoy and his group went to a different box.

But Malfoy stopped before leaving.

"Xiao Deng!"

Xiao Deng turned back to look at Malfoy, wondering what kind of trouble he was stirring up again.

"Watching the game, what's the fun in just watching?"

"Wanna bet on something?"

Heh, was he trying to make a bet, trying to win his money, or was it because he lost Face earlier and wanted to get it back somewhere else?

"Sure!"

"How much?"

"Not much, just ten Galleons, no hard feelings."

Ten Galleons was nothing to Xiao Deng anymore.

But between friends, it was just for fun, and ten Galleons was something Malfoy could afford, so why not play along.

"Fine, who are you picking?"

An excited look appeared on Malfoy's Face, and he spoke much faster.

"I bet Bulgaria will win; after all, Krum is on their team."

Chapter 228: Discovering Death Eaters

"Since you picked Bulgaria, I'll pick Ireland."

After the two made their agreement, Malfoy left.

Xiao Deng looked down from the box; the influence of this Quidditch match was truly terrifying.

How many people are there in the Wizarding World in total? As far as the eye could see below, there were at least over a hundred thousand people.

Harry tugged at Ron.

"Ron, look! Bulgaria is entering the field."

A group of women, their figures were incredible, and they were so charming.

The entire stadium instantly erupted, and the male Wizards among the hundred thousand spectators couldn't help but stand up, cheering and whistling.

The moment Ron looked over, he covered his eyes.

He was a bit slow, but he wasn't stupid enough to watch directly. Lavender was still in the box; that little jealous girl would drown him if he did!

Sure enough, Young Miss Brown's face was already pressed against Ron's shoulder.

"Ron, what are you doing?"

Harry's mouth twitched, and he turned to look at Xiao Deng.

He saw Xiao Deng examining the Veela below with great interest.

"Xiao Deng, do you know who they are? Why are they all so bewitching?"

"I don't seem to have seen these kinds of students in the Wizarding World."

Hermione glanced coldly at Harry.

"Those are Veela."

"Anyone with a trace of Veela Bloodline is born with extreme charm; in severe cases, it can even make a man go crazy for them."

"It's a natural Love Potion!"

Halfway through, she saw Xiao Deng staring intently, and Hermione, infuriated, kicked him directly in the backside.

Xiao Deng turned around, eyes wide.

"Why did you kick me?"

Hermione rolled her eyes at Xiao Deng and sat back in her seat.

"Your soul is about to be snatched away."

Xiao Deng chuckled.

"Isn't that what you just said? The Veela's power is truly impressive, especially with so many of them!"

Hermione sneered, "I've checked this box; there's a magic barrier. You just genuinely like this sort of thing!"

"You watched for over ten minutes without even blinking once."

Xiao Deng trotted over and sat beside Hermione.

"How could that be!"

"If I don't blink for such a long time, wouldn't my eyes get dry?"

Hermione immediately pulled out her wand and pointed it at Xiao Deng.

"I'm talking about you watching the Veela, and you're arguing with me about whether your eyes are dry?"

Ginny and the others watching from behind covered their mouths, afraid they would burst out laughing.

For the rest of the time, Xiao Deng and Ron were the most well-behaved, as one had a jealous girl sitting next to them, and the other had a powder keg.

The match soon began.

After seeing the offense and defense of both sides, Xiao Deng couldn't help but shake his head.

It must be said that Krum, as a star player, really has some skill.

But he couldn't help that his teammates had brains like pigs, which gave the well-coordinated Irish players constant opportunities to attack.

Harry was also an excellent player and could see at a glance where the Bulgarian team's weaknesses lay.

"If they keep letting the Irish team score with the Quaffle, even if they catch the Golden Snitch, it won't matter."

Hearing Harry's assessment, Xiao Deng smiled.

"Harry, you know Malfoy made a bet with me earlier."

"He bet on Bulgaria to win."

Harry laughed out loud.

"He probably thinks that since Bulgaria has Krum, they're guaranteed to win."

"But his teammates are... hard to describe."

"The Irish team even has extra energy to interfere with Krum, which adds immense pressure on him."

Just at that moment, the door to the box was knocked on, and Harry immediately stood up to open it.

Outside the door were Malfoy and Pansy; seeing Malfoy, Harry's mouth curled upward.

"I heard you made a bet with Xiao Deng, and it looks like you're about to lose."

"Oh, Potter, wish me some luck!"

Malfoy didn't spend much time exchanging pleasantries with Harry this time and immediately entered the box.

Xiao Deng narrowed his eyes; Malfoy had come for a reason, looking like he had something he wanted to say but couldn't.

"Whatever it is, just say it; there are no outsiders here."

Malfoy scanned the room and nodded.

"My father came to see me earlier. He told me not to always think about having fun and to spend more time with you, so we came over."

Xiao Deng thought for a moment before speaking.

"Do you think your father had an ulterior motive?"

Malfoy shook his head.

"I haven't been home for a long time, so I don't know what the situation is at home."

Xiao Deng yawned.

"Then we'll take it one step at a time; why worry about things blindly?"

"Let me tell you, your kidney deficiency is because you worry too much and think too much!"

When this was mentioned, Malfoy couldn't help but blush.

"I am not deficient!"

"Alright, alright, you're not, you're not, just watch the match."

Xiao Deng's words, like he was coaxing a child, made Malfoy feel even more stifled.

Pansy slowly took Malfoy's arm, but he shook her off, which made Pansy giggle.

Krum tilted his body, and the whole stadium stopped.

A golden light bloomed from Krum's hand.

Looking back at the scoreboard, a trace of regret flashed across Krum's face.

170 to 160, the Irish team won narrowly.

"They're so bad, what is the Bulgarian team doing?"

Malfoy's somewhat unwilling cry came from the box.

"I feel like I could do better myself!"

Although Malfoy was exaggerating, it was indeed the case.

Ireland's advantage in the early stages was too obvious, and they scored so many points that even though Krum caught the Golden Snitch, it was hard to overcome the huge point gap.

However, the atmosphere at the scene was very good, and everyone stood up to applaud Krum.

Bulgaria wasn't great, but Krum lost with honor.

Malfoy took ten Galleons out of his suit pocket and handed them to Xiao Deng.

Xiao Deng didn't stand on ceremony and accepted them directly.

Just as Xiao Deng was about to say something, he frowned.

"You stay here first and wait for me to come back."

Lucius had given Malfoy instructions, but he hadn't given them all.

That was probably about Lord Voldemort; he likely didn't want Malfoy to get involved in this muddy water.

It was enough for the couple to work under the Dark Lord; they couldn't drag the Malfoy Family Bloodline into it as well.

It was easy to guess; Lucius probably meant for Malfoy to stay away, but Malfoy hadn't understood.

There was no help for it; Lucius had been too subtle, and no one could be sure if Lord Voldemort could monitor Lucius's actions.

Lucius was afraid, afraid that he would delay Malfoy and implicate the entire Family.

He had sought him out because Xiao Deng already had many privileges at Hogwarts; he was betting that Xiao Deng would have a way to leave.

Or perhaps, when arriving at the campsite, Lucius had secretly seen him using Apparition; it was hard to say, as he hadn't paid much attention at the time.

When Malfoy came to find him, Xiao Deng had already become vigilant and spread his Divine Sense out.

Once it spread out, Xiao Deng was immediately amused.

There was a dense crowd of Death Eaters lying in ambush all around.

It was estimated that this group would launch an operation after the Quidditch match ended.

It must be said that these people were truly dedicated, waiting until the Quidditch match was over to launch their attack.

If it were him attacking, gathering everyone together would be great; they wouldn't be lonely on their way to the afterlife!

Chapter 229: Setting a Trap for Percy

Well, now that you've run into me, you'd better be more careful in your next life.

Xiao Deng stood in the clouds, looking down at these people; to him, they had no secrets at all.

Suddenly, a person dressed in black collapsed silently to the ground.

"What are you doing? Pull yourself together, we're about to attack..."

Before he could finish his sentence, a second person beside him collapsed without warning.

This Death Eater was completely baffled; what was going on?

But before he could figure it out, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his brain, his vision went black, and he knew nothing more.

This situation was happening continuously around the perimeter of the campsite.

Before long, the area around the campsite was deathly silent.

Xiao Deng looked at the blacked-out ground, shook his head, and vanished in the blink of an eye, as if he had never been there at all.

Meanwhile, Barty felt a bit restless.

What's going on? It's so quiet, why haven't they attacked yet?

Logically speaking, even if there weren't massive casualties by now, it should have caused regional panic.

As the Quidditch match ended and the crowds were leaving, Barty finally couldn't hold back and rushed toward the woods.

Not long after, Barty stared at the scene before him in stunned silence.

Every single person he had arranged was dead here, not one left alive.

Barty felt a chill run down his back; who, who on earth was it?

In other words, who could kill these people without anyone knowing, and seemingly without leaving a single wound on their bodies?

He couldn't even detect any traces of magic, which was incredibly bizarre!

Could Dumbledore have been here? But could Dumbledore really achieve something to this extent?

Barty didn't know, and he had his own mission he couldn't leave, so he could only report the situation here to Lord Voldemort first.

Xiao Deng reappeared in the box.

Malfoy immediately stepped forward and asked: "How did it go?"

Xiao Deng pondered for a moment, deciding not to say anything.

"It's no longer a big problem, let's go."

Everyone else breathed a sigh of relief, except for Hermione, who glanced at Xiao Deng.

If Luna were there, she probably would have had the same look as Hermione.

As soon as the door opened, they saw the Weasley Brothers standing at the doorway, looking like they were about to knock.

Soon, the Weasley Brothers joined Xiao Deng's group.

"So that means Malfoy lost ten Galleons?"

George immediately chimed in: "Malfoy, next time just bet your family's fortune, and be done with it once and for all."

"Giving them away ten at a time is such a waste of time!"

Malfoy, who was already in a bad mood, looked even darker. Ron was no good, and his brothers weren't any better!

If Pansy hadn't held him back, and if Xiao Deng hadn't been there, he would have lost his temper.

Xiao Deng stepped in to smooth things over.

"Oh, come on, you're making it sound too serious. It was just for fun, don't take it to heart."

"Though if Malfoy really wants to give them, I wouldn't mind."

Malfoy's expression improved slightly at the first half, but at the second half, his face turned dark again.

You, Xiao Deng, are no good person either!

Ron argued with Malfoy every day, but at this moment, he actually felt that Malfoy was a bit pitiful.

But it was still quite satisfying, hehehe!

They hadn't walked far before they saw Mr. and Mrs. Weasley waiting by the road, and the Weasley Brothers immediately ran over.

It was just that Mrs. Weasley's expression didn't seem very good.

Fred stepped forward and asked: "Mom, did you know? Malfoy bet against Xiao Deng and lost ten Galleons!"

"Hahahaha!"

"Though the Bulgarian team was just too disappointing."

George also stepped forward and added: "Mom, what's wrong? You don't look very well."

"Did you lose Galleons betting on the match too?"

Mrs. Weasley's expression turned even worse; these two sons were just adding to her frustration.

"Whack!"

"Whack!"

Each of the Weasley Brothers received a punch on the head.

"Mom!"

"Mom!"

But Mrs. Weasley acted as if she hadn't heard them, gave them a few more punches, and then left.

Percy looked down at the Weasley Brothers from a superior height.

"What am I supposed to say to you two?"

"Dad secretly took a Galleon from who knows where to bet on the match."

"He also picked Bulgaria, also lost, and also ended up with nothing."

"And you two are still here asking!"

Mrs. Weasley's voice came from the distance.

"The three of you, tell your little sister to come home!"

The three of them froze in place, though the Weasley Brothers looked at Percy with even more mockery.

"That'll teach you to show off!"

"That'll teach you to act so high and mighty!"

"Go on, tell our little sister to come home!"

The two of them sang in harmony, turned around, and left, leaving Percy alone on the spot.

Seeing Xiao Deng and his group walking over, Percy's expression stiffened.

He was now employed at the Ministry of Magic, and talking to this group of Hogwarts students always made him feel like it lowered his status.

But he couldn't disobey his mother's orders, especially when Mrs. Weasley was in such a foul mood.

"Ginny, Mom wants you to go home."

Ginny was a bit puzzled.

"Why? I'm having... a great time playing at Xiao Deng's!"

"Mom... said so, I don't know either."

Ginny seemed to have realized something and grinned, showing her teeth.

"Brother, if I don't go back, are you going to get in trouble?"

Percy's expression stiffened.

"Impossible, Ginny, what nonsense are you spouting!"

Then he turned to look at Xiao Deng.

He was a man of the Ministry of Magic now; if he couldn't boss Ginny around, surely he could boss him around?

"Xiao Deng, it's really been a hassle for you to look after Ginny."

"However, you shouldn't keep holding onto Ginny; after all, she's a young girl."

"Brother!"

Percy ignored Ginny, but Hermione frowned; why was this brother of Ginny's so pretentious?

Xiao Deng stood with his hands behind his back, looking at Percy with a smile.

"Are you threatening me?"

"I wouldn't call it a threat, I just think you should have some sense of propriety."

Xiao Deng smiled, nodded, and looked at Ginny.

"Ginny, you should go back first."

Ginny widened her eyes and looked at Xiao Deng.

"You're telling me to leave too?"

Xiao Deng patted Ginny on the forehead.

"What are you thinking!"

"The holiday is almost over, you should go home. Don't you miss your Mom and Dad?"

"But after you go back, pass a message to Mr. Arthur and Mrs. Weasley."

"Just say that I have received their message, and I will strictly abide by my duties. I, Xiao Deng, am not such a shameless person."

Ginny was a smart child, and with the fact that she and Xiao Deng shared a tacit understanding, she immediately understood the meaning behind Xiao Deng's words.

"Okay, Brother Xiao Deng, I will pass the message along."

Only Percy was left looking confused; what kind of riddle were these two speaking in?

But the result was good; Ginny was willing to go back with him.

After Ginny and Percy left, Hermione walked up to Xiao Deng and spoke.

"You're too mean! If this message gets passed back, given Mrs. Weasley's temper, she's going to beat Percy up!"

Ron walked out from behind, looking confused.

"Why? How come I didn't understand a word of that?"

Lavender took Ron's arm and kissed him on the cheek.

"You silly, won't you know when you go back tonight?"

Chapter 230: Sirius's Apology Gift

"Let's go, brother!"

Ron nodded and waved at everyone.

"We'll be heading off then."

Hermione and Harry didn't need to go back; after all, school was starting in a few days, so they would just follow Xiao Deng back to Hogwarts.

Before they left, they were stopped by Malfoy.

"Xiao Deng, take me and Pansy with you; neither of us needs to go home."

Pansy looked at Malfoy in confusion, not knowing why he wasn't returning to the manor, but she didn't ask.

Xiao Deng nodded slightly, waved his right hand, and in an instant, they were back at Hogwarts.

Just as they arrived, Xiao Deng saw Lupin standing at the entrance.

"Lupin, aren't you fired? Won't you get in trouble standing here?"

Lupin smiled and shook his head.

"I'm not a Professor anymore. I'm here for something else this time."

"Didn't Ron come back with you?"

Xiao Deng shook his head.

"He has to go home first. According to the schedule, he'll be back by the start of term at the latest."

"Then I'll wait for him to return."

Hermione frowned slightly.

"Won't there be a problem if you stay at Hogwarts for too long given your status?"

Lupin laughed slightly.

"I'm not staying at Hogwarts, so it doesn't matter."

"Waiting a few days is fine; the Black family won't fall into chaos."

Lupin didn't want to say more for now, and Xiao Deng didn't press him; once Ron arrived, they would naturally find out.

Time passed quickly, and the sound of the little train echoed on the tracks once again.

Xiao Deng and his group were very curious, truly wanting to know what Lupin wanted with Ron.

Beside the Whomping Willow, Ron looked at Lupin with a bewildered expression.

"Professor, is there something you need to see me about privately?"

Lupin was holding something covered by a Black cloth, which looked like a cage.

"Sirius feels a bit embarrassed because he caused you to lose a pet, so he specially went and bought an Owl to compensate you."

As he spoke, he unveiled the Black cloth, revealing a spirited Owl to everyone.

"Chirp, chirp~"

Ron was stunned, staring blankly at the Owl.

"He originally wanted to return a rat to you, but he really felt that was inappropriate."

"He was also afraid you might get stressed, always worrying that your pet might turn into a person."

"In the end, Sirius decided that an Owl would be more practical."

"You're not saying anything; do you not like it? I can promise on his behalf that you can exchange it."

It was only then that Ron came back to his senses.

"No, no, it's great."

"It's just that I've never raised an Owl before, so I'm a bit at a loss."

Xiao Deng chuckled; Ron was indeed at a loss, but it had nothing to do with never having raised one before.

He had always used his brother's hand-me-downs since he was young, and pets, in particular, weren't cheap.

Suddenly having a pet of his own left Ron not knowing how to react.

Lupin smiled and handed the cage to Ron.

"I thought you didn't like it; I'll get you another one."

"If you like dogs, I can tie a ribbon on Sirius, put a bow on him, box him up, and deliver him to you."

Xiao Deng burst out laughing; friends are friends, but that was truly savage.

Harry was also speechless. If he gave Sirius to Ron, what would he do?

He called Sirius godfather, Sirius called Ron master, and Ron called him brother?

Wasn't that a bit messy? Better not!

Ron's mouth twitched, and he hurriedly refused.

"No, no, no, there's no need."

"I can't afford to keep a dog of his size."

Lupin was taken aback for a moment, then burst into laughter.

"Hahahaha!"

"Good, I'm happy to hear that."

"Alright, I have things to do, I must be going."

As he left, he patted Harry on the shoulder.

"Live well, keep it up!"

Immediately after, Lupin left Hogwarts.

Malfoy curled his lips slightly.

"Yo, little pauper, you finally have a pet worth showing off."

"Sirius is the sole heir to the Black family; he's not short on money. This Owl shouldn't be cheap."

Ron lifted the cage and retorted.

"I've already got an expensive pet, when are you going to keep a Death Eater as a pet?"

Malfoy's face darkened; was that even a thing one could keep?

"Who could keep that thing? You ignorant pauper."

"Keep your dad!"

Malfoy:??? Although he understood his meaning, why did it sound a bit offensive?

"Pauper, why don't you keep your dad?"

"My dad isn't a Death Eater."

"You little pauper!"

"You little Death Eater!"

"Your dad is a pauper too!"

"Your dad is a Death Eater too!"

...

Xiao Deng and his group ignored the two of them and silently moved away from the Whomping Willow.

By the time it was nearly dinner, Malfoy and Ron tacitly called a truce and returned to Hogwarts on time.

The two arrived at the old classroom where they used to train, and sure enough, everyone was gathered there.

Malfoy patted Xiao Deng on the shoulder.

"Did you get new clothes made this year?"

Xiao Deng looked up, puzzled.

"What new clothes?"

"You don't know?"

Some people in the classroom nodded, others shook their heads. Malfoy cleared his throat and started to put on airs.

"Ahem, let me say a few words."

"Hogwarts will be hosting the Triwizard Tournament this semester."

Arthur probably knew, but Ron hadn't paid much attention to this matter before.

"What is this?"

For others' questions, the fixed NPC, the know-it-all Young Miss, was about to come online.

"People have died in this Triwizard Tournament before, and it has been discontinued for many years."

"It's a very traditional competition from a long time ago."

"It's a competition between three magic schools: Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang."

"Each school will send one champion to participate."

"But why is it suddenly restarting this year?"

Malfoy shook his head.

"I don't know. It was like there was no warning; the news was just suddenly announced."

"But this news will probably be announced at the evening banquet."

Hermione was a bit surprised.

"Isn't today the start of school?"

"Let the freshmen hear this news too?"

Xiao Deng flicked Hermione on the forehead.

"Letting them know isn't the same as letting them participate."

"We might not even be eligible to compete, let alone the freshmen."

"Has your brain turned into Ron's?"

Ron:???

Hermione's gaze gradually became unfriendly.

"Can you not be so nasty when you insult people?"

Ron:???

Xiao Deng chuckled.

"You guys have fun. There's no training today; I have something to take care of, so I'm going to find Dumbledore first."

Xiao Deng took off running.

When he arrived at Dumbledore's office, Professor McGonagall's voice came from inside.

"It's already been decided now, so there's no way around it."

"So the only thing we can do now is to strengthen safety protection measures."

"There was a reason for suspending the competition; we must be extremely careful this time."

"Minerva, I will certainly do that."

"I will place magical restrictions in all aspects."

"Hey! Professors, did you miss me?"

Chapter 231: A Warning Before the Triwizard Tournament

Snape remained expressionless, not even sparing Xiao Deng a glance.

Professor McGonagall closed her eyes tightly and covered her forehead.

Dumbledore instinctively pressed down on his drawer.

However, Professor McGonagall had the highest composure, and she was the first to put on a smile.

"Xiao Deng, you're back!"

"Is there something you need?"

This time, Xiao Deng didn't speak; he silently pulled out his wand.

He pointed it upward, and a yellow radiance of magic poured out, expanding to cover the entire office.

The three Professors sighed deeply and each drew their wands.

Dumbledore finally spoke.

"Speak, what exactly is the matter?"

Xiao Deng sat on a stool and pondered for a moment.

"Professors, did you go watch the Quidditch World Cup?"

To Xiao Deng's surprise, even Professor McGonagall, who loved Quidditch so much, shook her head.

"Alright then, I'll give you a summary."

"The match was indeed exciting, and I even made a bet with Malfoy."

"I won, Professor Snape."

Professor McGonagall pursed her lips, not stopping Xiao Deng from saying these trivial things.

Snape's expression, however, was somewhat gloomy.

"Back to the point!"

"When the match was nearing its end, I discovered a group of people."

"They were all lurking around the competition campsite."

"I went up secretly to check, and everyone! Everyone was a Death Eater!"

The expressions of the three Professors turned serious instantly.

Dumbledore even stood up from his chair.

"Tell me more!"

"What happened to this group in the end?"

Xiao Deng spread his hands.

"What else could happen? They all died. I killed them, before they could make a move."

"However, I don't know how they arrived or why they were able to ambush the place so easily."

Dumbledore was speechless for a moment and sank back into his chair.

"You killed them all by yourself?"

Dumbledore was indeed shocked. He had lived through the era of the Dark Lord and knew very well the combat capability of Death Eaters.

But Xiao Deng had fought a group all by himself; he estimated that Xiao Deng's current ability was already catching up to his own.

Professor McGonagall, on the other hand, looked at Xiao Deng with concern.

"Xiao Deng, I know your ability is very strong, but you must not go down the wrong path."

Xiao Deng shook his head.

"The wrong path?"

"It's not that far, but I couldn't just do nothing, could I?"

"If they hadn't died, what would have happened to the hundreds of thousands of spectators at the match?"

Fortunately, Professor McGonagall knew the difference between what was important and what wasn't, and she didn't criticize Xiao Deng on this matter.

At this moment, Snape spoke up.

"Do you have any suspicions for bringing this up now?"

Xiao Deng finally perked up. Snape was truly Snape; he could always notice things others overlooked.

"I do have some concerns and speculations."

"If their plan was to attack the match site."

"It's hard to say what the goal was—whether it was Harry, or Muggle Wizards, it's not certain."

"But now that their plan didn't succeed, could they try something during the Triwizard Tournament?"

Professor McGonagall looked at Dumbledore uncertainly.

"With your ability, surely no one could interfere with it, right?"

Dumbledore had long since collected his thoughts and shook his head slightly.

"Even the most powerful magic has its shortcomings, and I wouldn't dare claim to be the best."

"We can only do as much as we can think of."

This was true; there was nothing absolute in this world.

Even when the Dark Lord was at his peak, wasn't his legend broken by an infant?

But the issue of the Death Eaters could not be ignored, especially since it was confirmed that the Dark Lord was not dead; one could not let their guard down.

"Albus, I will strengthen Hogwarts' security measures recently."

"This tournament is no longer just our own affair."

Dumbledore nodded in agreement, but he was still somewhat worried.

"Once the tournament starts, our room to intervene will be much less."

"We... might need a young Wizard who can defeat other schools."

"And we also need a young Wizard who can handle unexpected situations at any time."

Professor McGonagall asked sharply: "Albus, what do you mean?"

Upon hearing this, Snape's gaze couldn't help but fall on Xiao Deng, and he spoke while Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall were arguing.

"Xiao Deng!"

Professor McGonagall's voice rose a few notches.

"Absolutely not!"

"That is against the rules!"

Dumbledore rubbed his temples; this matter made him feel a bit troubled as well.

There were plenty of students older than Xiao Deng, but none whose ability matched his.

As for those younger than Xiao Deng, it went without saying.

Xiao Deng was basically one of a kind in Hogwarts history, overshadowing everyone.

Even the Dark Lord back in the day would have to take a step back; he wouldn't even rank in the top three.

Dumbledore checked the time and slowly stood up.

"The opening feast must begin; it's about time, let's start the feast."

"Minerva, you still need to go greet the new students."

"Let's resolve the matter at hand as well."

After Dumbledore had the final word, the people in the office stopped arguing and left Dumbledore's office one by one.

Xiao Deng followed Professor McGonagall to the main entrance once again.

Xiao Deng pulled out a handful of melon seeds as if by magic.

"Professor, have some."

Professor McGonagall was about to refuse, but the temptation of the melon seeds made her reach out and accept them.

"Professor McGonagall, I don't know how much longer I can be here to greet the new students with you."

Professor McGonagall smiled.

"As long as you are alive, you always can."

"You could also take over Albus's job."

"Hey, hey, hey, Professor, you can't slip in your own agenda and trick me into working!"

Professor McGonagall laughed; it was indeed still too early for him to be Principal.

Xiao Deng cracked melon seeds while saying: "I wonder what the quality of this year's young Wizards will be like."

Professor McGonagall stared at Xiao Deng.

"No matter what, you stay out of trouble!"

Xiao Deng felt a bit innocent.

"Professor, how am I not staying out of trouble?"

Professor McGonagall slowly gathered the melon seed shells from her mouth and glanced at Xiao Deng.

"Just stop eyeing the young girls every day!"

Xiao Deng was just about to protest his innocence when Professor McGonagall pinched his mouth shut.

"Do you really take me for blind, you brat?"

"You hang out with the Hufflepuff girls whenever you have nothing to do; I'm experienced, how could I not know what you're up to?"

"Look at how you've sweet-talked those girls!"

"I didn't want to say anything to you initially, since it is human nature, after all."

"But now that the girls are all saying they want to have seven children for you, I have to intervene."

The corners of Xiao Deng's mouth curled up slightly.

"Professor, what kind of experience do you have that makes you 'experienced'?"

"Your student is very curious!"

"What have you been through?"

"Tell me, and I'll tell Professor Snape later; he's still single!"

Professor McGonagall's expression stiffened. Tell Snape? What a joke!

This brat was also a handful, always working against her.

"No experience, go back and wait for dinner!"

Chapter 232: A Public Display of magic

"Professor McGonagall, don't be like that, it makes you seem so heartless."

"I get a headache just looking at you, and you haven't spared me either!"

Professor McGonagall glared at Xiao Deng, then continued cracking melon seeds, ignoring him.

But it wasn't long before Professor McGonagall's brow furrowed deeper and deeper.

"The rain outside is getting heavier!"

"Will the young Wizards be alright?"

Professor McGonagall said, glancing at the carefree Xiao Deng, who was still cracking melon seeds.

"Is the area outside within the range of that magic contract?"

"If it is, give them some protection."

Xiao Deng's lips curled slightly.

"Professor, you just told me not to mess around with the young Wizards earlier..."

"Using my own words to deflect me, are you?"

Xiao Deng chuckled.

"How could that be? I'm just asking for permission!"

Professor McGonagall let out a deep sigh.

"I approve it. The health and safety of the young Wizards are more important."

The gates of Hogwarts slowly opened, and Xiao Deng walked out.

Professor McGonagall was about to call out, but realized that the rain wasn't touching Xiao Deng at all; it slid off an inch away from his body.

Xiao Deng had long since sensed Hagrid's presence, bringing a group of drowned rats with him.

Even with such heavy rain, it couldn't drown out Hagrid's voice.

"Keep up, watch your step!"

Suddenly, Hagrid felt something and looked up at the sky.

He saw yellow magical ripples spreading outwards like water splashes.

He recognized that magical light; it was the exclusive glow that only Xiao Deng had in all of Hogwarts.

The yellow light particles continuously condensed into the shape of a massive rose.

With the rose as the center, the emitted magical fluctuations formed an inverted bowl shape, instantly enveloping Hagrid and his group.

Not a single drop of rain entered inside!

"Wow, look at the sky!"

"Who is that?"

"Ahhh! So handsome!"

"Hagrid, who is that?"

Hagrid waved his hands.

"Him? He is your senior, named Xiao Deng Hehuan Sect."

Watching Xiao Deng floating in the air, Professor McGonagall couldn't help but cover her forehead.

"He's showing off again. Young Witches, I hope you keep your composure."

Because of the heavy rain, many procedures were simplified significantly.

After everyone entered Hogwarts, a flash of yellow light swept by, and the rainwater on everyone vanished.

Dumbledore pursed his lips; he hadn't even spoken yet, and Xiao Deng had already stolen the spotlight.

Dumbledore presided over the Sorting Ceremony, but trying to act dignified at this moment felt extremely pointless to him.

"Before we eat, I must announce the rules of Hogwarts..."

"At the same time, I also need to announce one thing."

"This year there will be the Triwizard Tournament; you first-years are in for a treat, you will get to see some exciting matches."

"I won't say anything more; let the feast begin!"

Ron's combat power instantly maxed out, approaching the level of Neville.

Although Xiao Deng had eaten quite a few melon seeds, the main course was still very tempting.

Professor Nick came out again to play with the young Wizards.

But Hermione was staring blankly at the table full of food.

Ginny shook Hermione.

"Sister Hermione, what are you spacing out for? Eat!"

Hermione's expression wasn't great, and she noticed Xiao Deng looking over too.

"Are all of these made by House-elves?"

Xiao Deng knew Hermione too well; he knew what kind of knowledge she was looking for before she even moved.

Hermione was definitely still agonizing over the issue of treating House-elves well.

He had already told Hermione about the facts, history, and rules; whether she could get over that mental hurdle was really up to her.

Ron also saw what Hermione was struggling with, after all, she had already brought it up publicly several times.

"You were just saying the food in the Great Hall was good yesterday, and today you're already feeling sorry for the world?"

The conflicted look in Hermione's eyes was gradually replaced by hostility.

Xiao Deng smiled and didn't stop Ron; these words made a lot of sense!

Ron eating a chicken leg didn't affect his ability to speak at all.

"There are so many suffering people in this world; can you possibly care for all of them?"

"Even if you worked yourself to death, there would still be people with tragic backgrounds."

"Look at Headmaster Dumbledore, is he not impressive?"

"He can't even manage all the affairs of Hogwarts."

"Take care of yourself. If you don't eat this meal, the House-elves will have to go to your grave to mourn."

"At that time, who knows who will be the pitiful one!"

Hermione wanted to retort, but couldn't find the words for a moment, her face flushed with anger.

"Sophistry!"

Ron pointed at himself with the middle finger of the chicken claw.

"My sophistry?"

"Then tell me, Professor Lupin pitiful?"

"How come I don't see you seeking justice for him?"

"Miss Know-it-all, as someone well-versed in history, you should know Newt Scamander, right?"

Hermione lifted her smooth chin, looking slightly proud.

"Of course I do!"

"He was a senior from Hufflepuff."

Ron flicked his hand, tossing the chicken bone away, and instantly grabbed a new chicken leg.

"He is a hero who protected magical creatures with all his might."

"But, in other words, the bleakness of Professor Lupin's life also has something to do with him."

Hermione frowned: "Ron, I know you've been diligent in learning some history, but these two aren't even from the same era, are they?"

Even Xiao Deng pricked up his ears; it was rare for Ron to be smart for once, and he had actually studied History of Magic diligently.

"In 1947, the war with Grindelwald ended."

"Most people were trembling with fear, suspicious of everything."

"The fear of unknown creatures was reaching its limit."

"It was Newt who spearheaded the creation of the 'Werewolf Register,' forcing all Werewolves to register with their real names."

"The original intention was to safely isolate Werewolves who were about to transform, for the sake of management."

"But what happened?"

"Now it has become a roster for the Ministry of Magic to target."

"Do you think Newt is good or bad?"

After saying this, Ron didn't speak anymore, focusing on gnawing on his chicken leg.

Neville stared at Ron in disbelief.

"Ron, I don't recognize you anymore!"

"You can actually read books?"

Ron pursed his lips and said casually: "Read my ass, I saw Hermione nagging about it every day, so I specifically went to find this part of history and memorized it just to argue with her."

"I memorized it for several months!"

Hermione was also left between laughter and tears, with black lines on her forehead.

Xiao Deng smiled as he watched Ron; he was usually dense, but he would inexplicably come out with a profound truth in certain places.

However, Ron didn't point out the key part, so he immediately pressed down on Hermione's shoulder.

"So, how can you be sure that the decision you make is the right one?"

"If future generations change because of your decision, and history repeats itself, then you will no longer be a hero."

"Look at the present, at least they still have room to survive."

Hermione looked at the food in front of her, closed her eyes, and let out a deep breath.

When she opened her eyes again, she snatched the chicken leg from Xiao Deng's hand and started eating it.

"Hey, no, that's mine..."

Hermione rolled her eyes at him, and Xiao Deng silently summoned another one.

Harry, Ron, and Neville looked at each other and nodded slightly in unison.

Hermione is really difficult to deal with!

Chapter 233: Moody's Problem

The feast was over, but Xiao Deng's business was not yet finished.

Xiao Deng had just noticed that there were two more people at the staff table.

Dolores Umbridge and Alastor Moody!

His reputation had long been legendary; half of the people in Azkaban were sent there by him.

But as Xiao Deng looked at him, his brows furrowed slightly.

This person was disguised!

He had never met Alastor Moody before, and he hadn't met this person either; Xiao Deng couldn't tell for the moment if the disguise was for self-protection.

He still needed to discuss it with Albus Dumbledore and the others.

After the feast, having greeted Harry Potter and the others, Xiao Deng headed straight to the Headmasters Office.

However, when he arrived, there were already people inside.

Professor McGonagall and Severus Snape were there, and surprisingly, Dolores Umbridge and Alastor Moody were also present.

"I was sent by the Ministry of Magic, and I must be the Professor for the Defense Against the Dark Arts Class!"

"I don't care who sent you; I only recognize Albus Dumbledore!"

"I've worked at the Ministry of Magic for so many years; I don't need to take orders from you!"

Xiao Deng was a bit surprised. Was Alastor Moody's personality this tough? He was even standing up to Dolores Umbridge!

But thinking about Alastor Moody's life experiences, it was understandable.

As someone who had spent his whole life relying on grit and raw courage to survive, how could he bow down to a bureaucrat who only knew how to play office politics?

Xiao Deng entered the office silently, sat on a stool, took out some sunflower seeds, and watched the two argue.

The first to notice Xiao Deng was naturally Alastor Moody, but he didn't say much.

As the sound of Xiao Deng cracking sunflower seeds rang out, Dolores Umbridge finally noticed that there was an extra young Wizard in the office watching them argue.

"Who let you in? Is the Headmasters Office somewhere you can just walk in and out of at will?"

"First, me!"

"Second, yes!"

Dolores Umbridge was stunned. It took her two and a half seconds to react; she had never encountered this way of answering before.

"Who are you?"

Xiao Deng smiled. It seemed this big pink moth intended to pretend she didn't know him.

"I am who I am, a different kind of firework."

"Xiao Deng, watch your language! I am from the Ministry of Magic!"

Xiao Deng picked his ear.

"Even if Cornelius Fudge came, I would say the same thing."

This seemed to step on Dolores Umbridge's tail, making her furious.

"Don't you know how to respect your elders? Furthermore, I am from the Ministry of Magic. Don't you know who I am?"

Xiao Deng spat out a sunflower seed shell, which made Professor McGonagall frown, but she didn't step forward to stop him.

"Elder? You don't seem to have the surname Hehuan Sect. I'm an orphan, don't try to fool me; I haven't read much."

"But if you want to acknowledge me as an elder, I might consider it."

"But I'm a bit young to be a father, and I'm not old enough to be a grandfather!"

The three Professors, including Albus Dumbledore, all lowered their heads slightly and pursed their lips.

They had always acknowledged Xiao Deng's offensive power; having been annoyed by him for years, it was truly comfortable to watch someone else take the heat!

Dolores Umbridge immediately looked at Albus Dumbledore.

"Professor, is this the good student you've taught?"

"Every word is insolent! Is this the rule a young Wizard should follow?"

The three, including Albus Dumbledore, were leaning over the desk, whispering about something.

"Professor!"

"Professor Albus Dumbledore!"

"Huh? Huh? Are you calling me?"

"Dolores, is there something you need?"

Dolores Umbridge yelled, questioning Albus Dumbledore: "Are you doing this on purpose?"

"Ignoring me on purpose!"

Albus Dumbledore looked at her calmly.

"You are overthinking it. We were discussing matters and didn't hear you."

"Is there something you need?"

Dolores Umbridge was about to jump up.

"Xiao Deng insulted me!"

Albus Dumbledore stroked his beard.

"Did he only insult you?"

"Yes!"

"He didn't insult Alastor Moody?"

"No... no."

"You must have misheard. Xiao Deng wouldn't insult you for no reason; he is an excellent young Wizard of our Hogwarts."

"Alastor Moody, did Xiao Deng insult you?"

Alastor Moody shook his head and said, "No!"

"See? You must have misheard."

Although Alastor Moody was impersonated by someone, it was clear that he also found Dolores Umbridge very annoying, so naturally, he wouldn't help her.

Professor McGonagall, however, looked at Albus Dumbledore with a strange expression.

You haven't learned anything else from Xiao Deng, but you've certainly learned to be shameless!

At this moment, Albus Dumbledore also found Dolores Umbridge too noisy.

"At present, we haven't been able to think of a perfect solution."

"Let's put this aside for now. Besides, there is the Triwizard Tournament this year, so this matter can wait. The two of you should go back and rest."

Dolores Umbridge snorted, held her head high, and drifted out of the office like a plump, big pink moth.

Alastor Moody didn't say much; he nodded slightly at the three of them and limped back to the Dormitory.

After seeing both of them leave, Xiao Deng asked:

"Principal, didn't you mention the Triwizard Tournament? What about the other two schools?"

Albus Dumbledore sighed slightly.

"In October, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang will bring their young Wizards here."

"At that time, our three schools will select the champions together."

"It wasn't very convenient with the heavy rain today, and with the two of them causing such a ruckus, I was planning to wait before discussing it."

Speaking of this, Professor McGonagall also felt a bit troubled.

If she had to choose one of the two to be a Professor, she would definitely choose Alastor Moody.

Although his image wasn't great and he liked to drink, he was ultimately righteous.

Dolores Umbridge's reputation was not good; judging by some of her words and actions, she didn't look like a good person.

She was quiet when doing bad things, but when things were ruined and didn't go her way, she would yell and scream.

But she had the Ministry of Magic's official notice and administrative documents.

While she was thinking, she heard Albus Dumbledore's voice.

"Xiao Deng, you've eaten, you've shown off, and you've received the screams of young girls. What else is on your mind?"

Although what Albus Dumbledore said made Xiao Deng seem a bit out of line, Professor McGonagall couldn't help but let the corners of her mouth twitch upward subconsciously.

How wonderful the child she brought back was!

But Xiao Deng didn't speak. Amidst the listless gazes of the three Professors, he took out his wand and pointed it upward.

Yellow magic light covered them, and the three Professors raised their wands like zombies.

Albus Dumbledore took a long while to recover before speaking.

"Speak, what happened again?"

Xiao Deng was silent for a moment before speaking.

"This Alastor Moody has a problem!"

Professor McGonagall's expression immediately became serious.

"Xiao Deng, you can't just say things like that."

"Alastor Moody is a veteran Auror who has participated in countless battles!"

"He won't have any problems!"

Xiao Deng knew immediately that they had misunderstood.

"I'm not saying Alastor Moody has a problem; I'm saying this Alastor Moody standing in Hogwarts has a problem."

Severus Snape's voice squeezed out through his teeth.

"What Xiao Deng means is that this person has a problem."

"You suspect..."

"That he is fake?"

Xiao Deng stood up from the stool.

"No!"

"I'm not suspecting!"

"He is definitely using some kind of disguise to sneak in!"

Chapter 234: A Small Gathering After the Banquet

Dumbledore was silent for a moment.

"We still need him to teach, and we also need him to keep Umbridge in check."

"Exposing him is not the best option."

"It is enough that we know; we just need to keep a watchful eye on him."

"As long as he doesn't harm the young Wizards for now, let's leave it be."

"Xiao Deng, keep an eye on their movements and report back whenever you can..."

"Professor McGonagall~~~"

Xiao Deng dragged out the end of his sentence, looking pitifully at Professor McGonagall.

Professor McGonagall immediately got angry.

"Albus, you're making Xiao Deng do dangerous things like this again!"

"If anything were to happen to him, how would you face..."

She stopped halfway through her sentence, and Dumbledore's office fell silent.

Xiao Deng didn't even have anyone to report to, yet the Professors constantly made him do this and that.

If, just in case one day an accident happened, there wouldn't even be anyone to handle things for Xiao Deng.

Professor McGonagall's lips trembled slightly as she slowly pulled Xiao Deng into a hug.

Snape, who usually gave Xiao Deng snide remarks, stood quietly to the side.

However, sending someone to tail them clearly wasn't a suitable decision.

A high-ranking member of the Ministry of Magic might not be able to beat Dumbledore, but she could certainly be a nuisance!

The other is a veteran Auror; even if it's not the real person, anyone capable of sneaking in is no simple character.

Furthermore, he would be even more vigilant because he is an impostor, so we can't send anyone to tail them.

The only one who can monitor the movements of these two anytime, anywhere without being discovered is Xiao Deng, the Lord of Hogwarts.

Professor McGonagall sighed; she understood the logic perfectly well.

"Xiao Deng, about this matter..."

Before Professor McGonagall could finish, Xiao Deng interrupted her.

"Professor McGonagall, it's fine. I understand, and I will do what I need to do."

Xiao Deng deliberately walked slower, his steps dragging.

Heh, with this tragic effect, Professor McGonagall would surely be deeply moved!

Xiao Deng finally left Dumbledore's office.

"Albus, we can't keep betting on a child every single time, can we?"

Dumbledore felt a bit awkward. No matter how strong Xiao Deng was, in Professor McGonagall's eyes, he was still just a baby.

There was absolutely no winning this topic, so Dumbledore decided not to respond.

"Recently, there have been a lot of things going on at Hogwarts."

"In October, the other two schools will be arriving, so we still need to be well-prepared."

"The tasks have been assigned, so let's stick to our respective duties for now."

Professor McGonagall glared at Dumbledore and slowly left the office.

After Xiao Deng came out of the office, he found that there were still people in the abandoned classroom.

"Why aren't these people back in the Dormitory resting? What are they doing here?"

Xiao Deng slowly pushed open the door. Everyone's gaze fell upon him, and they couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief when they saw it was Xiao Deng.

"Why aren't you guys going back? What are you doing here?"

Malfoy came over and draped his arm over Xiao Deng's shoulder.

"It's just that school just started and there's nothing going on, so we're just chatting."

Xiao Deng looked at the environment of the old classroom and frowned. Chatting in this environment, these people were really...

Xiao Deng waved his right hand, and a yellow magical light immediately appeared, adding several Restrictions to the door.

At the same time, the old classroom began to change; the desks and chairs turned into leather sofas and a marble-topped coffee table.

A fair amount of snacks and treats appeared out of thin air on the table.

Malfoy couldn't help but exclaim: "It has to be you; you really know how to enjoy life!"

Pansy rolled her eyes at Malfoy.

"You're not any different; you have no room to talk."

Harry immediately came over to smooth things over.

"Come on, let's eat!"

Xiao Deng sat elegantly on the sofa, making a sound of compressed leather.

"What were you talking about?"

Harry handed Xiao Deng a sandwich.

"Ron just asked a Soul-searching question."

"He saw Lupin leave and Sirius get released from prison, so he asked if there is no death penalty in the Wizarding World?"

Xiao Deng's mouth twitched. How the hell did anyone come up with that?

If there were a death penalty, Sirius would have kicked the bucket over a decade ago; how would they be able to meet now!

Harry wouldn't even have a godfather now!

Hermione puffed out her chest. Xiao Deng knew that Miss Know-It-All was about to go online.

"Strictly speaking, the Wizarding World does have a death penalty."

"If a certain kept magical creature suddenly goes mad and hurts someone, after reporting it to the relevant authorities, it depends on the situation."

"If the circumstances are severe, it might be sentenced to death."

"However, the Ministry of Magic does not consider the death penalty to be the highest form of punishment."

Ron grinned and asked: "Then what is it?"

"It's called the Dementor's Kiss!"

"It doesn't mean you die immediately; instead, they bring in a Dementor to suck out your Soul, and the prisoner becomes an empty shell without consciousness."

"In this case, even becoming a ghost is a luxury, because he has no Soul."

"This is generally considered even more terrifying than death."

Pansy couldn't help but ask Hermione curiously.

"If the Soul is gone, can his body still survive?"

"Or rather, does it still have feelings, natural reactions, and things like that?"

Hermione shook her head.

"When the Soul is sucked away, the body is still alive; it will have a heartbeat and breathe, and it can maintain basic functions."

"But it lacks consciousness, memories, and emotions."

Ron's hair stood on end from what Hermione said.

"Oh, that's too terrifying!"

"Death is the end of it; can't they just kill them directly?"

"Why must they torture people like this? Who came up with this kind of punishment!"

"How much evil must someone have done to deserve this punishment!"

"Hey, poor guy!"

"Poverty limits your imagination!"

"Why don't you ask Harry and see if Harry wants the Dark Lord to taste this feeling?"

Everyone's eyes turned to Harry, who scratched the back of his head in embarrassment.

"I hate him for killing my parents, but I've never really thought about whether this punishment is suitable for this case."

"I haven't really learned much about what punishments the Ministry of Magic has before."

"So, I can't judge it for a moment."

"Xiao Deng, what do you think?"

Xiao Deng put down the Butterbeer in his hand.

"Asking me?"

"How would I know? I've never handled any prisoners."

When I really encounter an enemy, I first confirm whether they are dead or not. Who the hell has the time to consider how to deal with them first?

"However..."

"If there really is someone so heinous that it makes people grind their teeth in anger, I think they deserve it."

"The Ministry of Magic's regulations in this regard are indeed a bit lacking."

"I think it could just be canceled?"

"What?"

Everyone asked in unison.

"Look, people have to be cremated after they die, right?"

"Might as well just stuff them into a furnace and cremate them. That would be great; it saves a big step."

"You don't even need to waste manpower like a Dementor... oh, no, monster power!"

Malfoy slowly sat beside Xiao Deng and handed him a chocolate with both hands.

"Tell me more!"
