Here is the extra chapter!
Start of a new Goal: (6/200 Power Stones)
---
"AH, WONDERFUL QUESTION ZYGOTES!" The Japanese rip-off of Superman exclaimed loudly into the room as I stood beside him, barely holding myself back from swearing up a storm. He continued... "THIS IS THE SECOND HEROICS CLASS TEACHER!" He then gesticulated towards me, essentially leaving the floor open for me to continue in the artificial silence.
"Good Morning class. My Hero-name is Singularity. I am a pro-hero from a place you've probably never heard of..." The class was as silent as a wake. Looking around I couldn't help but notice that several of students were ignoring me completely in preference of gazing at their smiley gorilla that they called All Might.
Sighing I slapped my hand down on the lectern, jolting said students from their fan-boy and fan-girl daydreaming. "And I am here to teach you how to survive as a hero." All of them turned serious, Aizawa having already done some leg-work for me over the week.
"This class is integral to you learning teamwork. To understand your own abilities and the limits of your classmates. You will fight, you will be injured, you will be worked until the point you will be crying for relief, only for us to turn around and tell you to do it again." I paused momentarily, watching as the class were getting psyched and pumped for the class.
"This is what it means to be a hero...! To never give up! To never just quietly go into the night and forfeit everything you care about! Being a hero, means that you put in 120% effort when everyone else can't. You are the bulwark against madness, villainy, despair and evil... At least, you will be, once we're done with you." The class was utterly silent for a few moments until it was broken by the cheering of Kaminari.
"Yeah! PLUS ULTRA!!!" The class soon joined in and were screaming out Plus Ultras and other catch phrases from heroes across Japan and the world.
All Might was looking at me and smiling, his pearly whites shining in the sunlight as he gave me a thumbs up. I nodded to him and gestured for him to take control, since it was his turn to be in control today.
*CLAP* *CLAP*
"ALL RIGHT! SETTLE DOWN YOU ZYGOTES." Thanks to Aizawa they settled down pretty promptly, their spirits settling into a thinly veiled layer of confidence and excitement.
"GREAT! NOW, YOU CAN'T DO HEROICS IF YOU DON'T HAVE YOUR COSTUMES! THAT'S WHERE THESE COME IN!" He pressed a button on a small remote and unveiled an automatic wall that dispensed enough suitcases for the entire class.
"YOU WILL FIND YOUR COSTUMES IN THE SUITCASE THAT CORRESPONDS TO YOUR LOCKER NUMBER. GO GET DRESSED AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN AND MEET US OUT IN GORUND BETA!" The class began scrambling as All Might scrambled from the room.
I stayed behind to help some of the class with locations and such, having already memorised the entire campus when I first arrived. I guided them to the changing rooms nearest to Ground Beta.
After getting them to the changing rooms I strutted out to All Might who was quickly blazing through a cheat sheet for the class. Licking my lips I looked out over the training ground.
It was a massive training area that had an immense amount of concrete buildings and structures that maxed out at twenty stories tall. One segment had glass structures as well whilst another had smaller buildings, more reminiscent of rural townscapes or residential zoning. The area we were currently in was concentrated CBD. There were several max-height buildings and business-like infrastructure that was woven around fountains and other areas that were meant to mimic the hub of a city. The level of detail was superb, there were even emergency fire capsules and axes in the buildings; all meant to teach the students to use their environment no doubt.
"SINGULARITY! I WAS WONDERING IF I MIGHT ASK A QUESTION?" I turned to the large Arnold Schwarzenegger wanna-be and hummed.
"Sure. What you want to know?" All Might coughed into his hand lightly, probably psyching himself up for whatever it was.
"IS THIS A GOOD SCENARIO FOR THE DAY? I WANTED THEM TO START WITH SOMETHING LESS STUDIOUS AND GET A FEEL FOR THEIR QUIRKS..." He handed me his cheat sheet whilst I stifled a chuckle, remembering his nervous reading of the scenario in the anime.
Looking at his cheat sheet it was almost the exact same as the anime. The teams would each have two class members, they would randomly be teamed and pitted against one another. One team would be villains protecting a nuclear bomb whilst the other would be the heroes coming to stop them and the bomb. The win condition for the heroes was to capture both villains and touch the bomb whilst the villains either needed to defeat the heroes or simply wait them out.
All together it was a very well thought out and taught a multitude of things in the scope of a single lesson, if they were paying attention. If they weren't then we would need to explain these ideas to them so they can pull their heads out of their asses.
"This a fine beginning class All Might, I am sure that they can learn a lot from this lesson." The man looked relieved as I handed his notes back to him. He wasn't as bad as the anime made him out to be, to be honest.
In the anime he was the epitome of dunderheadedness. Snape wouldn't approve of All Might, that was for sure; not that he'd approve anyone other than himself and Lily Potter. However, in this version of My Hero it seemed that he had pulled his head out of his own puckered asshole and was putting in some effort. How was this evident? Well, in the way that he was willing to share this class with me... It was also in the way that he was asking for outside opinions and not just winging it.
"THAT REASSURES ME, THANK YOU." I grinned and lightly elbowed him in his uninjured side.
"Don't worry about it. Now, I think you should take the rest of the class to observe the matches once one begins whilst I stay with the 'contestants'. That way, if there is something wrong, I can step in if needs be and stop whatever is going on." The man nodded in agreement, his steep eyebrows bobbing up and down a little at the gesture.
"A WISE IDEA. WE'LL FOLLOW THAT PLAN THEN." My smirk widened as the class finally stepped out from changing rooms. They all looked pretty cool... Even Izuku, who had a terrible hero costume in the anime; in my opinion.
"Excellent! They say the clothes maketh the man... In this case I am sure we can say that the costumes maketh the heroes." I projected my voice out so all of them could hear me as they approached.
"YOU ALL LOOK LIKE PROPER HEROES!" Several members of the class squealed or bounced around in jubilation at being called heroes my All Might. I was still a sidenote in the class so far.
'I guess it's time to get this show on the road...'
~~~
Izuku was ecstatic as he looked over his hero costume. He had spent so much time in the past coming up with ideas and possible applications for his costume, if he were to become a hero... And all of it was coming to fruition before his eyes.
Unlike in the past, where he had decided to go for an all-green suit with some minor padding and a few features that showed his obsession with following All Might, he had gone for a simpler but more powerful outfit.
The first layer of his costume was the flight suit that was layered between his skin and the rest of the costume. The next was a Carbon-nanotube and polymer body suit that was pitch black and textured in such a way that it felt like running your hands over Teflon. The next layer was the similar leggings that housed multiple titanium plates that were situated around his thighs and designed in such a way that they didn't limit movement. His gloves, a dark green and black, tightly clung to his hands and had a leather quality to them that made using his quirk much easier than using a baggy set of gloves; they were studded with metal along the knuckles of course.
Finally was the boots and helm. The boots were knee-high and had flat bottoms. There were no laces on the boots and instead had a Velcro system and a zipper that gave just as much security. They were also steel-capped and had rubber soles in case of electricity hazards and such. The boots were dark green and black too but with a singular white symbol on the outside of both of them that looked like an angel's wings. The helm was supportive more than anything and simply wrapped around his neck and supported his spine. His face was fully open and his hair waved in the wind as it usually would have.
The helmet/neck brace itself had a microphone that jutted out near his mouth with a small box on the side of his neck that carried his communication module. The helm also had a retractable breathing mask that could pop out and filter out most toxins and particulates in the air. Oh, and the entire piece was dark green and black again, ensuring it match with his theme.
He was smiling widely as he adjusted some of his attached pockets that held his spare mics for communication purposes, his first aide supplies, several energy bars and a singular pocket on the back of his leggings that housed a cooled bottle of water.
"Okay Class, I need you all to focus up now." Drecarios spoke out with complete calmness.
Izuku stopped fiddling and sidled up next to Momo who was sporting a rather sexy costume that did very little to obfuscate her curves or protect herself. He was cringing at the lack of defence at her disposal and rapidly working towards creating her a costume in his mind.
"Good. Now, today we are going to be running you through some battles." Bakugo grinned maliciously, his hands sparking momentarily at the prospect of blowing stuff up.
"INDEED! TODAY WE SHALL HAVE YOU ALL FIGHT AGAINST ONE ANOTHER IN TEAMS OF TWO." All Might paused for a moment and then continued when Drecarios nudged him slightly. "ONE TEAM WILL BE DESIGNATED AS THE HEROES AND THE OTHER AS VILLAINS."
The less boisterous teacher spoke up once again. "The team compositions will be chosen at random and then the matches themselves will also be random." Ida quickly raised his arms, swiping them up and down in his usual uptight manner.
"But sir! Why do they need to be randomised, isn't it better to work with those you're most suited towards?" All Might sweat-dropped at Ida's question whilst Drecarios dropped his smirk in favour of a grin.
"Hmmm, why would we do this I wonder... All Might?" The musclebound hero floundered for a moment before he seemed to snap out of it and go into his usual All-Might-Smile™.
"I AM ALSO QUESTIONING THIS... CAN ANYONE ANSWER YOUR CLASSMATE?" Izuku rolled his eyes at how obvious the two were being, not that it was a bad thing since most of the class just seemed to be accepting the arrangement; a bad sign for a bunch of prospective heroes.
Momo put her hand up, alongside Kaminari, who was also surprisingly paying attention.
"Yes, Kaminari?" Drecarios asked leadingly.
"Well... I think you arranged it this way because heroes don't always get to team up with who they want and stuff...? I think it's also really good at getting us used to each other?" The boy didn't sound confident but his answers were accurate.
"EXCELLENT DEDUCTION KAMINARI-KUN!" The electric-boy blushed deeply at the praise whilst rubbing the side of his neck, his eyes staring down at the pavement in embarrassment.
"Exactly right Kaminari. This exercise is to expose you to some of the realties of working as a hero and also familiarise you all with one another. Can anyone tell me why we would be showing you now, instead of later?" Momo instantly raised her hand to Drecarios' query.
"You want us to start thinking for ourselves as soon as possible and acknowledge the difficulty of being a hero before we become to complacent. I would also posit that you are wishing for us to work on team work and develop key communication skills." The rest of the class was looking at her in surprise, the vast majority of them having epiphanies on the nature of the training and how it would feel from here on out.
"Excellent explanation. Now that we have that sorted I would like to firmly state that Ida did nothing wrong in asking us questions. No question is stupid or silly. You are here to learn and we to teach, we cannot teach you if you refuse to learn." All Might nodded powerfully at Drecarios' statement before picking up right after him.
"NOW THAT WE HAVE SET SOME BASIC RULES, LET US MOVE ON TO THE LESSON!"
""""YEAH!!!!""""
