I pulled out Barriss' and Rogue's chairs, doing my upmost to be a gentleman, before sitting opposite them at the fully arranged table. "I promise to spend some time with both of you in the future. I... I don't know specifically what we all want this to be, but I want to at the very least get to know you both on an intimate level." I paused as the waiter set down the menus and said he'll give a us a few minutes, before resuming my point, "To be honest with you both... The last time I had a relationship it ended up in my fiancé cheating on me and my own death in a car accident... So, please let me know if I am being 'distant', too close, going to fast or not progressing fast enough."

Rogue slumped in her chair a little at the information I have her. "Yes, please."

"Very well, here are the menus. Please raise your hand when you are ready to place your order." The waiter requested before hastily beating a retreat. He was definitely perturbed by the atmosphere of our table, for some reason.

"Oh. I'm sorry to hear that." The goth sympathised as she lowered the glass to the table and stared at Barriss in empathy.

"Don't worry about it. My former master was never happy with my progress or my skills. She was too absorbed in her duties to the council to teach me properly and deflected my training onto other Jedi Knights and masters... It was part of the reason that I started, turning, I guess you could say..." Barriss glared down at the tabletop whilst Rogue and I shared a look with one another.

After several moments I grasped one of her hands again and started soothingly rubbing the back of it. Rogue followed me, taking her other hand and simply patting it with her freehand, in support.

"I- Are you sure I wasn't the problem? I was the one who failed her training sessions." She asked in surprise.
