Friday - Two Days Before Trial
Marcus called an early morning meeting. When we arrived, his expression was grave.
"We have a situation," he said without preamble. "One of our key witnesses has been compromised."
"Who?" Dante asked.
"Commander Torres. Someone leaked her connection to our case. Now the prosecution is calling her credibility into question—claiming she's biased because she has a personal vendetta against the Arrow Society."
"That's why she's helping us," I pointed out. "They killed her team."
"Which the prosecution will use to argue she's not objective. That she'll say anything to hurt the Arrow Society, including lying for you two." Marcus pulled up news articles. "It gets worse. There are photos of Torres meeting with known criminals—people connected to underground networks."
"She was building intelligence," Dante said. "That's how investigations work."
