The small group walked out of the reception venue and right before them, a luxurious carriage appeared, its polished exterior gleaming under the dim glow of the street lanterns.
It halted in front of them, its well-groomed horses waiting with impeccable stillness as a footman stepped down from the carriage to open the door for Renzille and Kreios.
Brunelle and Sophia stood silently to the side, lowering their heads in sync with the footman who took off his hat and pressed it against his chest.
"Madam." The footman addressed Renzille formally, gesturing towards the open carriage door.
The beastman moved to assist Renzille into the carriage, his hand open and waiting for her hand to land on his, but a voice echoed from behind them, calling out Renzille's name with urgency.
"Renzille! Please wait for me!"
Both Kreios and Renzille paused, their attention momentarily diverted from the waiting carriage.
