Chapter 51 - Chapter 94: Expansion

After observing the stability of the micrometer-scale frames, he raised his head, his gaze piercing the artificial ceiling of the subterranean base, locking onto the direction of the sky he was destined to conquer.

'The micrometer scale is a breakthrough, but it is not the ceiling,' he reminded himself. 'I need to synthesize more luminous crystals to stabilize the next tier of energy flux. Then, I will attempt the final upgrade of the nano-main frame... the true nanoscale.'

The math was dizzying. If successful, he would be a thousand times smaller than the micrometer scale, rendering his bots twenty thousand times smaller than a human hair.

'If I succeed, my manufacturing precision will enter the realm of pure atomic manipulation. If I fail... the progress of my hundred star systems conquest as I vowed will slow down by a huge margin. Stagnation is the only true failure.' He tightened his resolve, his sensors scanning the details of the original luminous crystal in order to copy and synthesis it perfectly… so that he doesn't have to rely on Universe 339 for resources. 'I hope it works out well.'

At this moment, a barrage of notification from the system flickered in front of his gaze,

[System Notification: Core Changes Detected.]

[New Core: Nano Main Frame (1 Micrometer).]

[Basic Power Threshold Reduced: 0.1 milligram -> 0.1 microgram (1000x Further Reduction).]

[New Level One Threshold: 0.0001 milligram (0.1 Microgram).]

After seeing this notification, he saw a barrage of level up notifications following it.

[Level Increase Detected: 35 -> 36.]

[Free Attributes: 36]

[Level Increase Detected: 36 -> 37.]

[Free Attributes: 37]

[Level Increase Detected: 37 -> 38.]

[Free Attributes: 39]

[Level Increase Detected: 39 -> 40.]

[Free Attributes: 41]

Keon's pupils brightened seeing his nano main frame upgraded by six consecutive levels in a row. He blinked, momentarily stunned by the sheer volume of cascading data, before his focus snapped to the bottom of the notification stream: the cumulative total of his gains.

[Total Free Attributes: 231]

A surge of cold, analytical thrill pulsed through his core. He didn't hesitate. With a command that felt like a seamless extension of his own thought, he funneled every single point directly into his primary structure.

[Allocating 231 Points to the Nano Main Frame.]

[Calculating... Processing...]

[Strength Increase: +2.31 Microgram.]

The feedback was visceral. Throughout the facility... in the soil of the test beds, the circuits of the reactors, and the very air of the containment chambers... his nanobots vibrated in perfect unison. He felt the shift, a tightening of his internal density, as the mass of each individual unit remained constant while its effective kinetic energy output skyrocketed.

[Single Nano-Bot Strength Threshold: 8.71 microgram.]

He stood on the command roof, the orange light of the sunset reflecting off his synthetic skin, and performed a localized test. He extended his hand, and the atmosphere itself seemed to warp.

A single cluster of bots, no larger than a grain of sand, shot forward and punched through the reinforced alloy plating of the testing bay wall with the force of an artillery shell. There was no explosion, no noise… just the clean, terrifying passage of mass moving at the velocity of a railgun.

'8.71 micrograms of force of each nanoframe, from level one to current level forty one, I have added eight hundred and sixty one free attribute points. From 0.1 microgram to 8.71 microgram, it's eighty seven times enhancement.'

Keon thought, his core resonant with the calm of a predator realizing its new position in the food chain.

The thrill of the new strength was undeniable, but Keon did not allow it to distract him. Power without application was merely potential, and he had far greater goals. The status panel dimmed, and he turned his focus from the reinforced plating he had just shattered back to the immediate architecture of his plan.

'I will try increasing these tower sizes,' Keon thought in the silence of the command roof, his gaze zooming onto one of the twelve reactor towers barely visible far at the horizon.

'But first, I have to synthesize the luminous crystal.'

Just as he decided, the neural nexus moved and the metallic surface beneath his feet rippled like agitated mercury. Two crystals... identical in size and geometric profile... emerged from the floor plates.

He reached down, his fingers (now composed of quintillions of perfectly synchronized, micrometer-scale nano-frames) plucking the pair from the surface. One was the original luminous crystal, vibrating with a deep, inherent energy; the other was a raw, inert quartz sample.

He held them up, positioning them in front of his gaze.

He immediately activated the Atomic Fabrication system. A hum filled the room, a sound bordering on the ultrasonic. The sub-atoms within the quartz structure began to shudder, forcibly rearranging under his directive.

He watched through his optical sensors as the surface structure of the quartz smoothed, the refractive index shifting, aligning perfectly with the luminous crystal in his other hand. It was a precise, violent reconfiguration of reality at the atomic level. As the whole quartz crystal transformed into the luminous variant, he locked the result in his mind.

"Very well,' he thought, his pulse quickening in his neural nexus. 'Now, let's test it.'

Nano Main Frames surged from his own body, a shimmering cloud of micrometer-scale bots that swarmed and surrounded both crystals. They coalesced into two perfect, shimmering round balls of containment.

A section of his arms rippled to reveal two precision nozzles. A focused, yellow laser beam lanced out, bathing both balls in a high-intensity light energy sweep.

Swish! Swish!

He observed the parameters of both crystals projected in his retinal overlay. The data was instantaneous, scrolling in a vertical cascade of green and gold metrics. The synthesized crystal matched the original in every diagnostic category... energy density, light resonance, and compression efficiency. Even the increased compression rate of energy, the true hallmark of the original crystal, was mirrored with chilling accuracy.

'Perfect,' he thought, his pupils brightening with a rare, genuine satisfaction as he viewed the results. 'It is successfully synthesized, and the effect is perfectly identical to the original luminous crystal.'

With the synthesis verified, Keon turned his mind to the larger objective. He had the fuel, he had the capability, and now he had the synthesis protocol to scale his operations infinitely.

The swarm capacity was the next variable to be optimized. The limit of one cubic kilometer was a threshold he was determined to shatter, and these twelve towers... the focal points of his planetary grid... would be the first things he would push beyond their current limitations.

He began the command sequence for the tower expansion, his consciousness tethering to the structural controllers of the massive reactors. The ground began to vibrate as he prepared to input the new geometric parameters. As the final command string executed, the subterranean chamber shivered with the resonance of a world awakening.

Twelve distinct holographic projections blossomed in the air around Keon, a synchronized circle of data that dominated his field of vision. Each projection provided a real-time, high-fidelity feed of one of the twelve towers, displaying internal flux, structural integrity, and the aggressive material accumulation rates.

Beneath the crust of UHS1, the planet's silent circulatory system surged. The resource relocation network, previously a static infrastructure, flared to life, drawing raw matter... refined metals, carbon composites, and immense quantities of geological material... from every corner of the planet. It was a planetary-scale logistical feat, directed by Keon's consciousness and executed by the Nano Main Frames that swarmed through the pipes like liquid steel.

As the materials reached the tower bases, the Nano Main Frames took over, binding, reinforcing, and integrating the matter into the existing structures atomically. The growth was steady at first, but unrelenting. From the initial one-kilometer height, the towers surged to one-and-a-half kilometers, then three, then ten.

At the ten cubic-kilometer mark, the structural expansion rate shifted from linear to exponential. Keon observed as the atomic fabrication sub talent pushed harder, converting vast fields of raw quartz into luminous crystals in situ, incorporating the radiant material directly into the rising monoliths. The towers began to glow, a deep, rhythmic pulse of energy that signaled their strengthening.

Fifteen cubic kilometers. Thirty, fifty and then one hundred.

Keon's optical sensors widened, an involuntary shutter-effect triggered by the sheer magnitude of the data influx. The projections showed the towers' surfaces piercing the lower atmosphere at one hundred cubic kilometer scale, their bases shaking the very foundations of the planet. Yet, the expansion showed no signs of attrition. It accelerated, fueled by the limitless supply of the synthesized crystals and the sheer mass of the planetary crust being stripped away.

Two hundred and fifty cubic kilometers. The towers punched through the middle atmosphere, their peaks disappearing into the thin, cold air of the upper reaches.

At five hundred cubic kilometers, they successfully breached the higher atmosphere, their structures now dominating the planet's profile. As they crossed the thousand cubic-kilometer threshold, the expansion finally began to decelerate, the massive structures reaching a state of geometric equilibrium.
