Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: King Loki of Saka, a call from General Du of Huaxia

…Sakaar—the Gladiator Arena.

Loki, wearing a hornless crown and holding a golden energy scepter, sat upon a throne styled after Asgard's Divine King's throne.

In this moment, he seemed like a king revered by thousands, listening to the roars of the populace, majestically overseeing the gladiatorial duels below.

But for some unknown reason, despite finally gaining a nation and becoming the Divine King he dreamed of.

Loki still felt not a shred of happiness.

Recalling his experiences during this period… half a month ago, to escape Asgard, he leaped off the Bifrost Bridge, passed through a spatial anomaly, and unexpectedly arrived on this Planet named "Sakaar."

He used his excellent social skills to befriend the Grandmaster, the original ruler of Sakaar.

After a week of interaction, once he thoroughly understood the Grandmaster's habits, Loki employed the same tactics as in the original "Thor 3."

He killed the Grandmaster and replaced him with a clone illusion.

Then, three days ago, he used the fake Grandmaster to announce his seclusion, entrusting Sakaar to his "brother" Loki.

Loki "legitimately" ascended the throne and immediately issued a series of reform policies.

First, Sakaar was renamed the Sakaar Divine Kingdom.

Second, he appeased the common people, offering them far better treatment than before, and established a powerful army.

The duels happening below were precisely to select the three strongest warriors, who would be named the Empire's Three Generals and lead the soon-to-be-formed Divine King's Legion.

Everything, according to Loki's plan, progressed with unusual smoothness… Loki himself felt it was too easy, giving him an unreal sensation.

"My Lord, someone has invaded our defenses…" The old lady guard hadn't finished her sentence when Loki shot her a cold glance.

"Uh."

The guard paused, then quickly corrected herself, respectfully saying, "Someone has invaded our supreme defense network. It is predicted they will arrive at the Sakaar Divine Kingdom in three minutes."

"Hmm…"

Hearing the words that suited a divine temperament, Loki's expression softened with satisfaction, and a smile befitting a ruler appeared on his lips.

"My most loyal guard, can you pinpoint their landing location?"

The old lady opened the monitoring device on her arm, tapped it a few times, and smiled, "My Lord, as you wish."

"Thank you."

Loki politely said thank you, then furiously stood up, raised his energy scepter, and released an energy wave that stunned the entire arena.

The warriors in the duel stopped attacking each other, and the roaring citizens of Sakaar slowly quieted down.

Everyone looked up at Loki on the throne.

"Citizens of Sakaar, the Divine Kingdom is about to face its first enemy. Who… is willing to follow this Divine King into battle?"

"…"

"…"

A profound silence fell over the arena.

Loki's triumphant expression froze, his mood instantly turned cold, and his face became ashen.

His hand gripping the scepter twitched imperceptibly.

"Kill the invaders! Kill the invaders! Kill the invaders!"

Just as Loki was about to turn into a tyrant, the arena erupted with shouts in response to the Divine King.

Listening to the shouts echoing through the sky, Loki's expression returned to normal, and his triumphant, regal smile reappeared on his face… Sakaar Divine Kingdom—the Junkyard.

Loki, clad in golden armor, led the way, with the warriors from the arena and the newly formed Divine King's Legion behind him.

Boom—!

A massive spaceship, stretching as far as the eye could see, broke through Sakaar's atmosphere, landing steadily with a roar of air.

"My Lord, this warship is called Sanctuary I, Thanos's personal vessel," the Divine Guard reported.

"!!!"

Loki, immersed in his role as Divine King, heard the two words "Thanos," and it was as if his head had been struck by a club, instantly waking him from his dream.

After a moment of shock, he hastily asked, "Thanos? That Mad Titan who causes Carnage everywhere?"

"Yes," the Divine Guard nodded, raising the laser gun in his hand, and excitedly asked, "My Lord, now is our chance! Declare war on Thanos, the Titan, and lead your people to destroy them!"

As the saying goes, the eunuch is more anxious than the emperor. For Loki, a Divine King far exceeding an emperor, it wasn't a matter of anxiety, but of being utterly terrified!

In the Universe, Thanos's power and renown were not as great as the Divine King Odin's, but there were two points where even Odin in his prime could not compare.

Madness… brutality!

Loki once went on an outing and inadvertently stumbled upon Thanos's "environmental purification" in progress.

Later, out of curiosity, he disguised himself as one of his soldiers, infiltrated the legion, and asked other veterans… Thanos had targeted a Planet in a remote star system. Any star system along the flight path that contained intelligent life would be immediately attacked by the fleet. Once the Planet was conquered, half of its life forms would be randomly selected and killed.

At first, Loki found this amusing and interesting.

But as he followed Thanos to his destination, Loki felt nothing but fear.

That kind of slaughter, carried out as if it were a religious mission, was simply demonic, devilish!

Gulp!

Loki heavily swallowed, hesitating whether he should just flee.

Whoosh—!

Whoosh—!

The spaceship cast down two tractor beams.

Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight, two of the Black Order, descended along the light beams, landing on the ground.

Facing an entire legion, the two showed no change in expression, seemingly not putting any of these people in their eyes.

"Don't be nervous. Our My Lord Thanos is not yet interested in purifying a Planet that harbors stray dogs," Corvus Glaive said disdainfully.

The Sakaarans, accustomed to their wild lives, couldn't tolerate such an insult, and one by one they let out angry growls.

"My Lord, please order an attack!" The old lady Divine Guard directly raised her gun and aimed it at Corvus Glaive's head.

"Shut up!"

Loki pressed down on the old lady Divine Guard's gun barrel with one hand, then smiled at Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight, asking:

"May I ask what brings the two of you to the Sakaar Divine Kingdom I have established?"

"Sakaar Divine Kingdom? Heh heh…" Proxima Midnight was amused.

A god exiled from Asgard establishing a Divine Kingdom? It was the funniest joke she had ever heard.

"Nothing. My Lord Thanos invites you as a guest. Please come with me, My Lord Divine King…"

"What?" Loki asked, full of doubt, "How did you know I was here?"

Proxima Midnight said, "I might as well tell you, the moment you were exiled, we received the news."

Thanos knew that Odin was one of the biggest obstacles to his dream. A long time ago, he ordered his "Butcher Squadron" to constantly monitor the situation in Asgard.

The long wait did not shake Thanos's resolve; he patiently waited for this place, revered as paradise in the Universe, to show a weakness!

Loki was the first.

Corvus Glaive added, "It's also thanks to you sending out a message to the Universe when you established this Divine Kingdom. Otherwise, even we would have wasted a long time trying to find you."

"Sending a message to the Universe…" Loki looked at the old lady beside him with a glare that could kill, "What happened?"

"I believed your rule brought hope to Sakaar. Since it was the establishment of a great Divine Kingdom, it was necessary to announce it to the Universe and spread your greatness," the old lady replied self-righteously.

Upon hearing this, Loki's mouth twitched.

With such a loyal subordinate who thought for his King, what more could he say?

"Sigh." Loki sighed, "Divine Guard, please manage my Empire well for me. I'm going to chat with Thanos for a bit; I'll be back soon."

"A rational decision." Corvus Glaive waved his hand, and the spaceship immediately cast down three more tractor beams.

Loki voluntarily walked into a beam, and as he was being lifted towards the spaceship, he turned and shouted:

"My people, wait for my return!"

Buzz—!

Whoosh—!

The Sanctuary I spaceship took in Loki, Corvus Glaive, and Proxima Midnight, then transformed into a streak of light and disappeared into the sky.

Only an echo lingered in the air… However, Loki, this Divine King, did not know that Sakaar's technological level was very high, so high that even Thanos had to weigh whether he had a guaranteed chance of taking it.

The Grandmaster was one of the first highly intelligent races to appear after the Big Bang, having lived for countless millennia. Could the equipment he left behind be inferior?

There was no other way, after all, his profession was a melee mage, and technology was his weakness.

If Loki knew Sakaar's firepower, he would probably be riding on Thanos's face, dishing out damage.

Fear?

Only fear when firepower is insufficient!

...Earth.

After bidding farewell to Superman, Lin Luo took Natasha and Catwoman back to the car and slowly drove back to Gotham.

On the way, Catwoman fidgeted for a long time, waiting for the BOSS to make a move, but after a long wait, nothing she wanted happened.

She hesitated whether to follow Natasha's example and throw herself at him, but the BOSS suddenly answered a call.

"Hello, Lao Du, why do you have time to call me? Aren't you busy enough over there?"

Lao Du: "Sir, please don't make fun of me. I have Angels in front of me and Demons behind me, and the Styx and Lieyang also want a piece of the pie on Earth. The pressure is immense."

Lao Du: "These kids have great potential. Just a few days of training have awakened their powers. I want to give them more time to adapt, but there's no time."

Lao Du: "My old sir, please just give me a definitive answer: should I let those guys into Huaxia or not? I worry and agonize over this every day. The kids truly need a baptism of blood, but I also genuinely can't bear to see Huaxia, our new home, get hurt."

General Du Kao of the Super God Academy in Huaxia, a big man shouldering the weight of the stars, complained with a wronged expression.

This matter was indeed difficult… In the original story, the Styx civilization's invasion of Earth was unavoidable.

Now, the MIB headquarters is located in Huaxia. As long as MIB is unwilling, let alone a mere Styx.

Even if Karl, Kaisa, Morgana, and the Old Man of Time all combined, they couldn't break Earth's defenses!

Although MIB intended for the people of this era to use the Super God Project to deal with this alien crisis, because the MIB BOSS did not explicitly state his position, Du Kao could never truly rest easy.

He even resorted to using a private phone call for a clear answer.

Lin Luo fell into thought.

Ah, for him, this was the most difficult point of the second phase.

Even though he knew this Huaxia was not his own Huaxia, he still couldn't let go.

He felt nothing for other countries, but when it came to his own, he couldn't.
