Chapter 65 - Chapter 64: America: Missing Superman's First Day

... Tony Stark, clad in his Mark series armor, pushed away the rocks pinning him down, watching Lin Luo drive off in the giant mech.

He lay on his side, his mood complex.

Originally, he wanted to ask about the technology involved in that mech and for any advice that might help his Danger Rouge.

But he didn't even get a chance to meet him.

Fine.

It was those two idiotic Directors who had offended him, after all.

It was already good that he didn't add fuel to the fire, and he even came out and helped a great deal.

Besides gratitude, there was nothing else to say.

Tony Stark stood up, looked at King Ghidorah's 'corpse,' and after a moment of daze, his gaze turned to the ocean.

Jarvis's connected satellites had detected anomalies in the ocean.

That kind of World-ending tsunami was definitely not a natural disaster!

It seemed the enemies in the ocean were not as simple as just Universe monsters.

The burden on his shoulders was getting heavier and heavier.

Tony Stark sighed slightly and connected to the Super S.H.I.E.L.D. command center's communication channel.

"Director Fury, did you see the battle? What are your thoughts?"

"Similar to yours," Nick Fury replied, his tone flat.

"Alright, no more jokes," Tony Stark flew into the air, looking at King Ghidorah pressing down on danger wanderer no. 3, and asked, "How do you plan to deal with this monster?"

"..."

Nick Fury had been thinking about this question ever since Godzilla appeared.

He immediately replied, "It has many things worth studying on its body."

"So, I want Mister Fantastic Reed Richards, Batman, and you, the three smartest people on Earth, to conduct a comprehensive analysis of it."

"Sorry, I refuse." Tony Stark refused without a second thought.

Such unknown and uncontrollable things, if explored rashly, would surely invite disaster.

Instead of wasting time on this, it would be better to think more about how to improve Danger Rouge and how to develop subsequent mechs.

"Why?" Nick Fury asked, puzzled, "Aren't you curious about its power? What if what you research helps your mech?"

"No interest. I haven't even fully grasped the technology I already possess. Adding more would only make me regress. That's how it is." Tony Stark was too lazy to argue with Nick Fury and flatly refused.

"If there's nothing else, I'm going back to recover from my injuries."

"Recover from injuries?" Nick Fury was startled, "Are you injured?"

"Yes, very seriously injured. My heart has taken a strong blow, so I've decided to go back and cultivate in seclusion," Tony Stark sighed mournfully.

Nick Fury: "..."

"See you later."

Without saying anything more, Tony Stark bid farewell and decisively cut off communication.

"Jarvis, send the little guys to thoroughly clean up the battlefield. The upcoming workload is huge, and a lot of resources are needed, so not a single fragment can be left behind."

"Also, collect some samples of this three-headed dragon."

"Okay, sir. I have dispatched the cleaning and recycling micro-robot swarm for you."

"Thanks."

Tony Stark controlled his mech, flew into the sky, and sped towards home.

To cope with the upcoming crisis, he had to develop new mechs as soon as possible.

Time was urgent, and not a single moment could be wasted.

Tony Stark was clear about this, so he was thinking about the direction of subsequent development all the way home.

Traditional thermal weapons could be abandoned; he should try to develop energy-based ones as much as possible.

If that didn't work, he could simply change the Arc Reactor ray to a revolver style. In the future, he could carry several reactors, fire one, reload, and continue firing.

Or maybe install an Arc Reactor energy cannon on his back?

He could try that when he got back.

No matter what, he needed to boost the firepower first.

Regarding materials, he remembered his old man used to research something... Adamantium?

Unfortunately, synthesizing that required too many rare metals, so he had to start from other aspects.

These were truly headache-inducing problems!

...After the disaster, time came to noon the next day.

The manor.

Lin Luo, wearing a bathrobe, sat on the sofa in the luxurious living room, legs crossed, watching various news reports on the projection screen.

New York Daily: "This Universe monster invasion has caused incalculable economic losses. Approximately 100,000 people lost their lives in the disaster, and millions of families are homeless. The authorities are currently carrying out repair work. According to local residents, if the authorities cannot deal with the monsters in the ocean in time, they will abandon their homes and move inland."

Daily Bugle: "Good afternoon, everyone! No, you're definitely not good, because you just went through an unforgettable night!"

"I'm your old friend James. No need to ask, everyone has already seen those terrifying monsters, but what we're going to talk about next isn't them."

"The Super S.H.I.E.L.D. and Super Avengers, touted as the Shield of Earth, did not protect this country as they claimed. They did nothing but stop the monsters from advancing."

"Are our high taxes used to feed these people truly useful? Is it worth it? S.H.I.E.L.D. and those Avengers must give me an explanation!"

"Also, one more thing, I have reason to suspect that the purpose of the alien monster invasion is Spider-Man! Because Spider-Man is a pest, a public menace!"

World Daily: "So why was only the United States the most severely affected in this disaster? Why did the monsters bypass other countries and specifically attack the United States?"

"And those monsters that emerged from underground, they didn't even damage a single building in other countries! Why is this?"

"Why?!"

Homelander's press conference: "I'm sorry, we missed this opportunity to deal with the monsters because we were on an extraterrestrial mission. The next time they come, we will definitely teach them a profound lesson!"

Planet Daily: "First day of missing Superman."

...I have to admit, these news reports were even more entertaining than last night's battle.

Each one was like a grand opera.

It could only be said that this level of disaster was still not enough.

When these news reports call for everyone to unite, help each other, and work hard to overcome the disaster, then there will be no problem.

"Dearest!" Lorna ran over excitedly, holding a tablet, and pounced into Lin Luo's arms.

Like a child who scored full Marks and showed the test paper to her parents, she held the tablet in front of Lin Luo.

"Look! Look! I had Blink upload a video of the Mutant team stopping those alien monsters. Now it has over a million views, and the number of followers has already surpassed 500,000!"

Lin Luo glanced at it, said nothing, and looked blankly to the side.

She had been here for most of the day, watching news for most of the day, and only now did his girlfriend arrive.

Unhappy!

Very unhappy!

Lorna saw Lin Luo pouting, paused, put the tablet aside, and smiled mischievously.

She had recently learned a new skill, especially suitable for dealing with big boys who sulked.

She learned it from a big sister who had just had a baby.

When a man sulks, it's like a baby crying; if it cries, just feed it...
