Chapter 47 - Chapter 48 KING: I want to fight three

Three minutes later, everything was ready.

Bang Gu moved a set of seemingly brand-new gaming equipment from the corner of the dojo.

It was the latest model of game console, connected to a huge high-definition display, with four professional-grade game controllers neatly arranged beside it.

It was clear that Bang Gu's approach to what he called "modern cultivation" was far more than just playing around.

He must have treated it as a form of cultivation, just as he said.

"Oh, oh, oh! This is awesome!" Saitama was the first to rush over, skillfully picked up a controller, and enthusiastically searched through the game library.

"Got it, got it! It's this latest version! I'm telling you, I'm super good at this game!"

Bang Gu clasped his hands behind his back and smiled, "Heh heh, it's good for young people to be energetic. However, in the world of martial arts, a loud voice doesn't necessarily guarantee victory."

Genos was clearly somewhat unfamiliar with these devices.

"This... how do you play it?" Genos picked up a controller.

His electronic eyes immediately went into scanning mode, displaying the controller's material and structure.

"It's very simple, Genos. Look, this joystick controls direction, these buttons are for punches and kicks, and combining them can unleash cool special moves!"

"Basically, you just pick a character and control him to defeat your opponent!" Saitama skillfully gave an on-the-spot tutorial.

Genos nodded thoughtfully, then noticed many characters on the screen, one of whom was a cyborg, which gave him a sense of familiarity.

"I see, simulating combat processes through high-precision command input... This can indeed serve as an efficient training for neural reflexes and tactical thinking."

He muttered to himself, already beginning to analyze the essence of the game from a scientific perspective.

"So, Mr. KING, how should we compete?" Saitama had already chosen his controller, eager to start, brimming with fighting spirit.

Lin Mo calmly picked up his controller, his index finger and thumb lightly pressing the buttons, emitting a series of crisp "tap-tap" sounds.

He looked at the screen, his gaze becoming incredibly focused, and slowly said, "Since we're playing, it'll be me, one person, against the three of you."

"Huh?!" Saitama was excitedly choosing his character, a "Fighter Baldy" who, like him, was bald but extraordinarily muscular.

Upon hearing this, his hand movements stiffened, and he asked in disbelief, "Mr. KING, are you mistaken? There are three of us here. Three people against one of you? Isn't that unfair?"

Bang Gu also frowned, the smile in his eyes fading, replaced by a hint of seriousness.

He felt that Mr. KING was being a bit overconfident, perhaps even arrogant.

"Mr. KING, although you showed extraordinary perception in the previous test, the world of video games is another matter."

"Victory here depends on millisecond reactions and precise operations. One against three is almost impossible."

He believed that with his foundation as a martial arts grandmaster, his reactions and understanding of the battlefield had reached the pinnacle of gaming.

Mr. KING would likely have a tough fight even against him alone, let alone facing him, Saitama, and an S-class cyborg with unknown potential simultaneously.

However, in the face of the trio's doubts, Lin Mo merely smiled faintly.

His smile no longer held the usual guilt, nor any burden, but was filled with pure, absolute confidence.

After countless days and nights of fierce battles, he was confident in his absolute dominance in the gaming realm.

"The rules are simple." Lin Mo held up a finger. "The three of you form a team, choose any characters. I'll be one person on a team, with a randomly selected character."

"Your goal is to KO me. As long as any one of you three can survive before I fall, you win."

These words completely ignited Bang Gu's fighting spirit.

He said no more, his eyes sharpening, and he spoke in a deep voice:

"Since Mr. KING is so confident, then we, master and disciple... Oh no, the three of us, will accept your challenge!"

The battle was about to begin.

A flash of light on the screen, and the versus display officially appeared. Stirring music played, and the character selection interface was filled with the clang of metal and the roars of heroes.

On the left was Bang Gu's chosen character, a martial artist modeled after himself, "Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist Silver." Saitama, on the other hand, chose a muscular, huge character, "Giant Titan."

And Genos chose a cyborg character, "Ghost Mech," covered in machinery and primarily attacking with various energy cannons and lasers.

The three characters had distinct styles yet subtly formed a complementary formation: Bang Gu for close-quarters combat, Saitama for powerful assaults, and Genos for long-range suppressive fire.

Meanwhile, on the right side of the screen, the single character box representing Mr. KING, after a rapid flicker, the cursor swept past powerful characters one by one, and finally... with a "tap," it settled on the most inconspicuous avatar.

It was a character with no special features, with all abilities being very average—"Fighter Ryu."

This character wore the simplest white dojo uniform and was the initial character in the game.

He was the starting character in this game, the "tutorial" character used by every beginner.

"Pfft... Hahaha!" Saitama burst out laughing when he saw this character, "Mr. KING, are you serious? Your luck is too bad! You got a starting character, how are you going to fight now?"

Saitama was very excited now, the shadow of countless past defeats at Mr. KING's hands swept away.

He seemed to already see himself controlling "Giant Titan" to stomp Mr. KING underfoot, determined to break this losing curse today!

Bang Gu was also torn between laughter and tears; he had expected a fierce dragon-tiger battle, but never thought Mr. KING's luck would be so poor.

He even felt a sense of an unfair victory, using three carefully selected powerful characters to gang up on a basic starting character, this... Inside the dojo, only Lin Mo's expression remained unchanged.

He quietly looked at "Fighter Ryu" on the screen, with his standard posture and resolute expression, and the corners of his mouth even curved slightly upward, forming an arc that no one could understand.

For a god, what difference does it make what kind of weapon is used?

He smiled calmly, his eyes exuding the demeanor of a grandmaster: "It doesn't matter, it's all the same."

The moment his words fell, the countdown in the center of the screen hit zero.

A huge, flaming word filled the entire screen, accompanied by breathtaking sound effects that echoed throughout the dojo.

"FIGHT!"

The battle began!
