Chapter 68 - Chapter 69 Alien Spaceship Attacks!

The conference room remained in a dead silence.

Everyone's focus wasn't on the impending crisis that could destroy Earth, but rather on their shock that Mr. KING could predict things so accurately.

Old Woman Shibabawa's prophecies up until now had almost all been vague, requiring self-interpretation.

But Mr. KING's "prophecies" were so precise, it was as if he had cheated!

The enemy was from space, their target was City A, and even the details of how the prophet Old Woman Shibabawa would die were crystal clear.

"This... this isn't even within the scope of precognition anymore, is it…?" S-Class Rank 8, Zombieman, muttered, his gaze fixed on Mr. KING.

"What a joke…"

Terrible Tornado finally snapped out of her shock. Her emerald eyes stared intently at Mr. KING, trying to find even the slightest flaw in his poker face.

"If he's so powerful, how could I have been the first to arrive at the last Dragon-level disaster...? This kind of trickery..."

She gritted her teeth, trying to deny the news that Mr. KING could prophesy, "Don't think I'll believe it!"

However, before she could finish her sentence, a sudden roar echoed throughout the entire Hero Association Headquarters!

It wasn't the familiar Emperor Engine sound from Mr. KING, but from outside!

"Woo—woo—woo—!!!"

This was not an drill, nor was it a regional disaster warning.

This was the highest-level alert in City A's defense system, representing a "city-level destruction threat"!

The piercing alarm instantly penetrated every corner of City A. Countless citizens ran out of their homes in terror, looking up at the sky.

At the Hero Association Headquarters, blood-red alarm lights flashed wildly, reflecting the varied expressions on the S-Class Heroes' faces.

"Emergency alert! Emergency alert! A huge unidentified flying object has appeared above City A! Energy reaction... immeasurable! Repeat! Energy reaction immeasurable! It's breaking through the atmosphere! Predicted... predicted disaster level is—

The operator's terrified scream came through the broadcast. He hadn't even finished stating the level when a world-destroying shockwave swept in from outside the window!

Boom—!!!

The entire Hero Association Headquarters building let out a violent explosion and began to shake!

The fluorescent lights on the ceiling instantly burst, and rubble and dust rained down.

"They're here!" Sitch's face instantly turned ashen white. He gripped the edge of the table tightly to avoid falling.

The heroes' reactions, however, far surpassed ordinary people's.

The moment the tremor occurred, they had already stabilized themselves, and their combat instincts instantly overwhelmed any shock.

"Everyone! Attack immediately!" Atomic Samurai was the first to roar, his figure flashing as he rushed towards the door.

"Tch, they came so fast? My Metal Bat is already impatient!" Metal Bat rested his bat on his shoulder, his eyes filled with savage fighting intent.

However, when they rushed out of the conference room and looked at the sky outside through the giant, cracked floor-to-ceiling window, everyone was stunned by the sight before them.

A... battleship as massive as a city!

It obscured the entire sky, casting a shadow that enveloped all of City A.

Cannons, flashing with an ominous light, covered its underside, as dense as a honeycomb, exuding an aura of utter destruction.

"This... is this what Mr. KING mentioned... an alien spaceship?" Tanktop Master looked up, his sturdy legs trembling slightly for the first time.

"My heavens..." Pig God stopped stuffing snacks into his mouth, gazing at the sky.

Before they could recover from this terrifying visual impact, at the bottom of the spaceship, tens of thousands of muzzles simultaneously began to accumulate energy.

Purple-black light lit up in each muzzle, and countless points of light converged.

That would be a "rain" of energy projectiles, covering the entire city!

"This is bad!" Metal Knight's robot issued an urgent warning.

"According to calculations, the power of this single shot is enough to completely wipe City A and its surrounding areas off the map! Existing defense systems... cannot withstand it!"

"What did you say?!" Sitch's heart sank to rock bottom.

Despite Mr. KING's warning, and their full efforts in preparation, was it ultimately futile in the face of such absolute power?

Just as the countless purple-black projectiles were about to launch, on the ground of City A, an unprecedented brilliant light suddenly shone!

Buzz—!!!

Centered around the new Hero Association Headquarters, dozens of massive energy emitters hidden in various corners of the city activated simultaneously.

Thick blue energy beams shot into the sky, and at the last moment, intertwined above City A to form a giant hexagonal energy shield.

This was the "City's Ultimate Defense System"—codenamed "Aegis"—designed by Metal Knight under Mr. KING's prophecy, built in secret, and costing astronomical sums of money and resources by the Hero Association!

The next second, the swarm of purple-black projectiles crashed down, slamming violently into the blue energy shield!

Rumble rumble rumble—!!!

The entire world seemed to lose sound and color.

The energy shield began to twist and deform violently the moment of impact. The blue energy light churned like boiling water, emitting a mournful cry of being overwhelmed.

The point of impact erupted with light as dazzling as the sun, temporarily blinding everyone on the ground.

Immediately, a massive shockwave, centered on the impact point, transformed into a visible white air current and spread wildly in all directions!

High-rise buildings, directly in its path, were instantly cut in half by this air current, then torn to shreds in the subsequent energy turbulence.

Streets, parks... traces of human civilization were easily erased in the face of this astonishing destructive power.

City A was wailing.

The "Aegis" system only lasted for less than three seconds before completely shattering with a crisp whine.

The remaining torrent of energy swept straight in, turning the central area of City A into a giant crater.

However... City A was not completely destroyed.

The outer areas of the city survived this catastrophe.

Although they were also ravaged and scarred by the shockwave, with not even a single complete street remaining, the framework of more than half the city was ultimately preserved.

Countless citizens, though still shaken, miraculously survived.

All of this was thanks to Mr. KING's prophecy, and to the unprecedented determination and investment of the association's high-ranking officials.

They truly... saved half the city from such an attack!

And all the S-Class Heroes, after a brief moment of shock, simultaneously looked once again at the man who still stood silently amidst the ruins.
