Chapter 116 - Chapter 116 Mechanical Ascension

"Genos, let me ask you, what do you seek?"

Genos paused, then answered without hesitation, "Absolute power! Power to clear all obstacles for justice!"

"Then, what do you think is the essence of power?" Lin Mo pressed further.

"It's stronger firepower, faster speed," Genos answered definitively, which was also the direction Dr. Kuseno had always strengthened him in.

Each modification allowed his body's performance to leap forward.

"Yes, and no," Lin Mo said slowly, his eyes on Saitama, who was about to eat a banana.

He snatched it away and continued, "The way you cyborgs modify yourselves seems incredibly crude to me."

"It's just a simple, unreserved release of energy. While this can make you stronger, your upper limit will always be there."

"But, Mr. KING, only sufficiently powerful firepower can..." Genos tried to argue.

"...can destroy the enemy while also leaving yourself in pieces, right?"

Lin Mo's single sentence silenced him.

Genos instantly fell silent.

He recalled the tragic state he was in, corroded by acid during the battle with Deep Sea King, the helplessness he felt when fighting Asura Kabuto, and how he always needed Dr. Kuseno to repair him after countless battles.

Almost every time, he fell before victory, relying on others' rescue.

"Look at the first page of [KING Style · Martial Arts · Mecha Combat]," Lin Mo pointed to the manuscript in Genos's hand, signaling him to open it.

"'Mecha Chapter' General Outline: Though the body is mechanical, the will can reach the divine. Energy flows like surging blood. Abandon brute force output, pursue core resonance. With the minimal energy consumption, unleash the strongest power. Man and machine become one, omnipotent..."

Genos was completely shocked.

This secret manual didn't describe any moves; it was entirely dedicated to a field he had never considered:

How to combine the mechanical structure of a cyborg with the "will" of a human at the deepest level.

It analyzed in detail the operating principles of a cyborg's energy core and proposed a completely new energy circulation route.

It even put forward the theory of generating "resonance" with the mechanical core through specific mental frequencies, thereby unleashing performance beyond the body's limits in a short time!

"Breathing technique!"

Genos remembered Mr. Bang's fight with the alien monster, where that special breathing method caused Bang's strength to grow geometrically!

Could he, a cyborg, do it too?!

"The first and most crucial tenet of this martial art is your energy core. What you need to learn is not to release energy all at once, but to mobilize it in the most precise way."

Lin Mo extended a finger and pointed to Genos's chest.

"Imagine, no longer an explosive full-body acceleration, but instantly channeling energy to a single point on your toes, achieving the most effective evasion and advance with the least consumption."

"This is the true meaning of 'Mecha Combat'—the ultimate end of mechanical ascension is micro-level control."

Lin Mo took a bite of the banana and continued:

"Achieve the greatest results with the smallest cost. Make every bit of your energy operate at one hundred and twenty percent efficiency."

"It sounds... pretty amazing," Saitama scratched his bald head. He understood bits and pieces, but it was a shame Genos couldn't train his muscles.

"But, KING, you talk so mysteriously, can you show us?"

Genos also reacted immediately, his eyes filled with fervent desire, and he bowed respectfully to Lin Mo: "I humbly request Mr. KING's guidance!"

Lin Mo smiled slightly, as if he had already anticipated their question.

He bent down and picked up a pebble the size of a fingernail from a shattered concrete block at his feet.

Then he gently tossed the pebble upwards.

The pebble flew up, not very high, only to about his chest level.

The eyes of the three present were all drawn to the small pebble.

Just as the pebble reached its highest point.

Lin Mo moved.

He brought his right index and middle fingers together and flicked them forward with an extremely elegant and casual posture.

"Pop."

A crisp, light sound.

Under the gaze of Saitama and Genos, the small pebble in mid-air turned into fine gray powder.

Then, a gust of evening wind on the rooftop blew it away, and it completely vanished without a trace.

"What's so hard about that? It's very simple," Saitama said indifferently.

Lin Mo didn't argue but said to Genos, "Give it a try, Genos."

"...Yes!"

Genos also picked up a pebble and tossed it upwards.

However, Genos either sent it flying or it disintegrated directly under high heat; he didn't manage to turn it into powder like KING.

"This..." Genos was utterly speechless.

"Do you see, Genos?" Lin Mo said slowly, pointing to the manuscript again.

"Power is not about how much you release, but how much you concentrate. What I just used was the principle of 'Inch Force · Collapse' from 'Mecha Combat.'"

"Condense all the body's power to a single point and release it in an instant. I don't have an energy core like yours, but I understand how to use power better than you."

"Mr. KING..." Genos suddenly looked up, clutching the manuscript tightly with both hands.

Then he abruptly knelt on one knee, his metal joints clashing against the ground with a crisp sound. He lowered his head and said with all his might:

"Your teachings, Genos will engrave them in his heart! This kindness..."

"Oh, come on, come on, Genos."

Saitama walked over, pulled him up from the ground, and patted the dust off him.

"Don't be so dramatic. Just don't let KING's kindness go to waste."

Genos stood up. Although the ceremony was interrupted, the gratitude and reverence in his eyes remained undiminished.

"Study it well," Lin Mo said to Genos, "How much you comprehend depends on you. But I believe it won't disappoint you."

"Yes! I will never disappoint your expectations!" Genos carefully tucked the manuscript into his embrace.

The last trace of sunset disappeared below the horizon, and night began to fall.

"Alright, alright, is the serious business done?" Saitama yawned and patted his stomach.

"I'm a little hungry. How about we go for udon noodles? I know a place that has a discount on beef udon noodles today."

"Yes, Teacher!" Genos immediately responded.

Lin Mo looked at the master and disciple before him: one completely uninterested in the essence of power yet possessing the strongest power, the other intensely desiring power yet having embarked on the path of a cyborg.

He cast his gaze towards the distant city lights that were gradually illuminating.

Two seeds had already been sown.

One, a path from mortal to martial artist, prepared for that pure heart of justice.

The other, a ladder crafted for Genos's mechanical body.

To what extent would they grow in the future?

"Udon noodles, huh..." Lin Mo turned around, looking at the two waiting for him at the stairwell, and said:

"My treat, Saitama's bill."
