Chapter 66 - Chapter 66: Soul Ascension

Liu Xi was a Dou Wang, just like Nalan Jie. Even though his Dou Qi was extremely pure, this small amount of energy was nothing more than a drop in the ocean. It would be wiser to conserve it — perhaps as a hidden trump card for emergencies.

As for the mutated Searing Poison, it remained sealed within the Green Lotus Core Flame and could not harm him while under his control.

He looked down at his hand. His palm was pitch black, faintly gleaming with a sinister sheen. With a calm breath, Liu Xi guided his Spiritual Power to subdue the Green Lotus Core Flame entwined with the mutated poison. Slowly, the black lines threading through the flame began to fade, dissolving into the azure fire until they vanished completely. The flame then flowed along his meridians, returning smoothly into his dantian.

Outside, the darkness on his palm receded at once, revealing his fair skin once more.

"Young Master, your palm looks normal again! You're fine, right?" Qing Lin asked, her worry melting into relief.

Liu Xi turned his gaze toward her. The girl's adorable face leaned closer, so near that her breath brushed against his hand. He couldn't resist — with a teasing grin, he reached out and pinched her cheek. Now that she was properly nourished, her once-delicate face had grown slightly round, soft with a hint of baby fat.

"Of course I'm fine," he said lightly. "What, are you hoping something bad happens to your Young Master?"

Qing Lin flushed, waving her hands in panic. "N-no! Young Master is the best!"

Liu Xi chuckled, amused by her flustered reaction.

When Liu Xi returned to Xuan Hao's residence, his teacher was nowhere to be seen — likely tending to duties at the Alchemist Association.

Hai Bodong and Lu Man hadn't come back yet either. After a moment of thought, Liu Xi decided not to wait. 'There's no better time than now.' Since he had already obtained the Seven Magical Green Spirit Saliva, he would begin cultivating with it immediately to enhance his spiritual power.

As he stepped along the tiled path toward his quarters, he said, "Qing Lin, I'll be cultivating in my room using the Seven Magical Green Spirit Saliva. If Teacher or the others return, tell them not to worry."

"Yes, Young Master!" she replied softly.

"I don't know how long the cultivation will take," he added. "Don't wait outside the whole time. Take Ling Shuang with you and go play for a while."

Qing Lin nodded obediently. Liu Xi reached out and gently ruffled her hair before heading into his room.

Once inside, Liu Xi didn't immediately take out the herb. Instead, he summoned the Green Lotus Platform, sat cross-legged atop it, and began restoring the energy he had expended while purging Nalan Jie's poison — nearly forty percent of his Dou Qi and over half of his Spiritual Power.

Such precise control of the Heavenly Flame for an extended time had drained him deeply. Thankfully, the Green Lotus Platform possessed miraculous restorative effects, allowing him to recover quickly.

About an hour and a half later, Liu Xi slowly opened his eyes. His breathing was steady again, and a faint azure glow flickered within his pupils.

"My Dou Qi is fully recovered," he murmured. "My Spiritual Power still feels a bit thin… but it'll suffice."

He flicked his finger against his storage ring. A crimson medicinal cauldron appeared with a soft hum, landing before the platform. Another flick of his ring summoned a potted plant — the Seven Magical Green Spirit Saliva.

Its translucent jade-green stalk and seven-colored flower radiated a gentle brilliance. The petals shimmered between hues, beautiful and mesmerizing, like a living rainbow.

Liu Xi's expression grew solemn. "Let's see if you can help me reach the peak of the Mortal Realm in Spiritual Power."

He steadied his breathing, clasped the jade pot with both hands, and released a burst of Dou Qi. Crack! Spiderweb-like cracks spread rapidly across the surface of the pot before it shattered completely.

The fragments floated midair, wrapped in his Dou Qi. As he drew them apart, the plant's roots — still wrapped in moist soil — were revealed.

A flicker of cyan fire ignited above his palm. The heat radiated outward, instantly drying the soil. With a soft tremor, the dried dirt crumbled away, leaving the roots pristine and intact.

He extended his hand, and the plant, still cradled in Dou Qi, floated into the crimson cauldron. With a thought, the Green Lotus Core Flame surged beneath it, engulfing the herb in azure fire.

The searing heat made the jade-like stalk rapidly wither, yet the seven-colored flower at the top only shone brighter and brighter, its beauty almost unearthly.

A thick, intoxicating fragrance filled the air — rich and soothing, carrying a strange tranquility.

Liu Xi inhaled deeply, and even before the process was complete, his Spiritual Power felt noticeably restored. "What a treasure," he murmured. "The fragrance alone strengthens the soul…"

The blue flame continued to burn. The colorful petals glowed with a radiant halo, resisting the fire's heat. But the Heavenly Flame was merciless — the resistance weakened until it vanished, and the petals began to curl inward and turn to ash.

From within the withering flower, tiny drops of multicolored dew seeped out, glittering like stars.

Gradually, the droplets fused together, forming a single lustrous orb that emitted dazzling seven-colored light — breathtaking and divine.

Liu Xi raised his hand. A gentle suction drew the orb from the cauldron, along with the residual flame. The Green Lotus Core Flame re-entered his body, while the radiant bead hovered just above his palm.

A powerful craving welled up from the depths of his soul — an instinctive urge to absorb it. His throat went dry, and he swallowed hard.

"It's almost begging me to devour it…" he whispered.

He lifted the glowing orb to his forehead. The moment his Spiritual Power connected with it, a wave of indescribable satisfaction coursed through his very being.

The orb floated to his brow and adhered there, bursting into brilliant light that painted his face in shifting hues of violet, blue, and gold.

Then the seven-colored bead began to pulse rhythmically, expanding and contracting. With each pulse, waves of strange energy spread outward, flowing through his skin and merging into his soul — refining it, strengthening it, transforming it.

Liu Xi sat motionless upon the Green Lotus Platform, his eyes closed, the glow at his brow pulsing in time with his heartbeat. With every surge, the energy fused deeper into his essence.

The cycle of release and absorption continued endlessly — one ebb, one rise — a rhythm of renewal and perfection.

His soul became increasingly pure and luminous, approaching a flawless, complete state.

And as the final waves of color faded into him, the quiet hum of spiritual power filled the room.

Liu Xi had taken another step forward — his Spiritual Power had reached the peak of the Mortal Realm, and the threshold of becoming a 7th Tier Alchemist was now within reach.
