The warm rays of the afternoon sun spilled across the quiet streets of Peace Town. Yet, that calm was abruptly shattered.
High above, a black dot streaked through the hazy clouds, growing larger by the second. In a heartbeat, a massive eagle-type Magic Beast pierced through the sky like a falling star, hurtling straight into the town's main avenue with wild, thunderous momentum.
"Whoa! That beast's got guts! Doesn't it know flying over Peace Town is forbidden?"
"Look! There are two people on its back—oh, this is gonna be good. The Enforcement Squad's butchers will be here any second…"
The moment the Blue Eagle breached the boundary of the town, the defensive array flared in warning. Within moments, several patrol teams converged. From the front line, a deep, furious voice erupted:
"Those who trespass upon Jia Nan Academy's territory—kill without mercy! Everyone, prepare to strike!"
"Yes, sir!" dozens of cold voices answered in unison.
Clang!
Screech!
Swords were drawn. Bows were raised.
In an instant, the tranquil town brimmed with killing intent, colored lights flashing as Dou Qi surged and gathered. The air itself felt on the verge of exploding.
But before the first strike could land, a wave of overwhelming power burst outward from the Blue Eagle, sweeping across the streets. The enforcers froze where they stood, their Dou Qi crushed beneath the pressure.
"D–Dou Wang!" someone stammered. "But even a Dou Wang cannot come and go in Jia Nan Academy as he pleases!"
"Hold your attacks."
A calm voice drifted down from above. "I'm Liu Xi, Inner Academy student of Jia Nan Academy. This Blue Eagle is my mount—no need to be alarmed."
The Blue Eagle began its descent, the fierce wind scattering dust across the road.
The Enforcement Squad's captain, who had been bracing himself to charge even against a Dou Wang, suddenly froze mid-motion. His expression twisted in disbelief as Liu Xi landed lightly on the ground, one arm wrapped protectively around Xiao Yixian's slender waist.
Liu Xi smiled faintly at the circle of astonished faces. "What's this? I leave for a year of training and everyone forgets who I am already?"
Recognition dawned. The middle-aged squad captain sheathed his blade and laughed awkwardly. "Haha! Of course I remember! Captain Wan Ping of the Third Enforcement Squad. How could I forget the genius Liu Xi—the student who reached the Dou Wang realm before even officially graduating? You caused quite a stir, young man. My apologies for the misunderstanding!"
"No harm done," Liu Xi replied with a polite smile. "You were only doing your duty. I should've reported my return sooner. Now, let's go complete the entry formalities. I need to return to the Academy."
"Of course! Right this way!" Wan Ping said eagerly, personally leading them toward the checkpoint in town.

At the registration office, an elderly examiner scanned the registry, his sharp eyes glinting beneath thick brows. "Liu Xi, Inner Academy student. Record shows you applied for external training one year ago. Identity confirmed."
He turned, however, to Xiao Yixian standing beside Liu Xi—and frowned.
"This young lady, however, is not of our Academy. She may remain within Peace Town, but cannot enter Jia Nan Academy grounds."
Liu Xi didn't argue. Instead, he drew a small jade bottle from his storage ring and placed it on the table before the elder, smiling lightly.
"Elder, there's no need to be so rigid. Rules are dead; people are alive. Let us enter first—I'll handle her identity with the Vice Principal directly."
The elder's gaze flicked toward the bottle—its faint medicinal glow betraying the quality of the 3rd Tier pill within. His sleeve flicked almost imperceptibly, and the bottle vanished.
He cleared his throat with great dignity. "Ahem. Rules are rules. I can only issue a temporary entry permit. If her identity isn't resolved within three days, she must leave the Academy grounds."
Liu Xi smiled knowingly and clasped his hands in thanks. "That's more than enough. Once inside, the Vice Principal won't make things difficult."
The old man's tone softened, his sharp eyes now relaxed. "For a high-tier alchemist like yourself, even Vice Principal Hu Qian will grant some face. Arranging her student status shouldn't be a problem."
"Many thanks, Elder. Then, we'll be on our way."
As they turned to leave, the elder's voice followed—serious, yet tinged with wry amusement. "Liu boy, I know you're already a Dou Wang and a skilled alchemist, but remember—beauty is as fierce as the tiger. Don't lose yourself to it, lad!"
Xiao Yixian froze mid-step. Her fair cheeks instantly flushed red.
She bit her lip, gave a tiny huff, and hurried ahead, hiding her burning face behind her hair.
Liu Xi only chuckled and called back over his shoulder, "Understood, Elder. I'll be careful."
As they disappeared from sight, the elder's wrinkled face twisted into a teasing grin. "Ah, youth… bringing back a lovely girl like that—such blessings, hahaha!"
Outside, Wan Ping was waiting with an enthusiastic smile that bordered on fawning. "Since your registration's done, should I escort you both back to the Academy? I'd be honored."
If Liu Xi were merely a Dou Wang, Wan Ping would've shown respect—but not this level of enthusiasm. Yet the young man was also a high-grade alchemist, once famous throughout the Outer Academy. Flattery was only prudent.
"That won't be necessary," Liu Xi said warmly, waving off the offer. "I know the way back quite well."
He turned, gently lifting Xiao Yixian into his arms as they leapt onto the Blue Eagle's back.
The enormous wings spread wide, catching the wind.
Whoosh!
With a single beat, the Blue Eagle soared into the skies, leaving a trail of swirling dust behind.
Wan Ping stood watching, momentarily dazed. Then he smiled ruefully and shook his head. "Alright, men! False alarm. Resume patrol!"
"Yes, sir!"

With the Academy's clearance secured, the rest of the journey passed without obstruction.
Before long, the grand silhouette of Jia Nan Academy's Outer Campus came into view—its ancient stone towers and graceful courtyards rising from the rolling hills like a tranquil fortress of knowledge.
Xiao Yixian's eyes widened in wonder. "It's beautiful… Is this where we'll be cultivating from now on?"
Liu Xi smiled, his gaze softening with nostalgia. "That's the Outer Academy. We'll be heading to the Inner Academy—but first, I'll need to have a little talk with the Vice Principal to arrange your entry."
Her expression turned hesitant. "Won't that trouble you too much? It's fine if I can't go in; I can cultivate anywhere."
Liu Xi reached out, gently ruffling her hair with a confident grin. "Don't worry. I'm a 6th Tier Alchemist now. I've earned enough face to handle this much. Besides…" He chuckled. "I wonder if news of my refining a 6th Tier pill in the Black-Corner Region has reached the Academy yet."
Xiao Yixian smiled faintly, eyes filled with admiration as the Blue Eagle glided toward the distant gates of Jia Nan Academy, bathed in golden light.
