Seven days after consuming the Mighty Huang Pill, the vast medicinal energy within Liu Xi's body was finally exhausted. By then, he had firmly stepped into the 3-Star Dou Huang realm.
With the Green Lotus Platform continuously drawing and purifying the surrounding energies, and the Fallen Heart Flame tempering his Dou Qi, every ounce of power refined within him was dense and pure. Aided by the pill's immense force, his breakthrough had gone flawlessly.
Now, every inch of his flesh, bone, and meridian shimmered faintly, radiating a soft inner brilliance. Under the torrent of Dou Qi washing through his body, his physical strength had reached new heights—tougher, sturdier, and more resilient than ever before. Only through such tempering could one build an unshakable foundation.
At last, Liu Xi slowly opened his eyes atop the lotus platform. His gaze gleamed deep and clear, like an endless night sky studded with stars.
He pressed one hand against the lotus base and floated to his feet, leaping lightly down to the ground. Stretching his arms and back, his joints popped crisply as energy coursed through his body. Every movement carried explosive strength.
The exhilaration of newfound power made him smile. "Not bad," he murmured.
Without putting away the lotus, Liu Xi stepped outside the pavilion. The courtyard was quiet and empty. He frowned slightly. "Xian'er should be cultivating… but even Zi Yan being serious about training? That's rare."
Extending his spiritual sense, waves of spiritual perception spread outward, enveloping the entire pavilion. Xiao Yixian was indeed meditating in her own room—but in Zi Yan's quarters, something different pulsed.
A cocoon of violet light.
The glow rhythmically brightened and dimmed, like a steady heartbeat. Each time it pulsed, the surrounding elemental energy stirred faintly, then rushed toward the cocoon, drawn in like tides, making its radiance burn ever brighter.
Without realizing it, Liu Xi had already walked to Zi Yan's room. Gently pushing open the door, he paused, watching the enormous purple cocoon that occupied half the space. Though its light obscured everything within, the familiar aura inside was unmistakable—Zi Yan.
"So, she's begun her advancement…"
Just then, a streak of seven-colored light shot out from behind the cocoon and hovered before him, letting out soft hissing cries.
Liu Xi raised his hand. The tiny serpent, Zi Ling, darted forward and coiled itself affectionately around his palm, rubbing its smooth head against his hand.
He chuckled. "So clingy again. You must be craving more energy elixir, hm?"
After one last glance at Zi Yan's cocoon, he quietly closed the door and walked outside to the grassy clearing.
With a flick of his wrist, he tossed Zi Ling into the air. His ring flashed, and a jade bottle appeared in his hand.
The instant it materialized, Zi Ling's bright eyes lit up. She zipped back to Liu Xi's palm and nudged the bottle eagerly, hissing in expectation.
Liu Xi laughed softly, sitting cross-legged on the grass. Uncorking the bottle, he dipped a jade chopstick into the shimmering liquid and held it near the serpent's head.
Zi Ling flicked its tongue and licked the drops clean, eyes glinting with satisfaction.
Liu Xi tapped her small head with the chopstick, smiling slyly. "Want more?"
"Hiss~ hiss~" came the soft reply.
"Zi Ling wants more~"
"Then you'll have to behave," Liu Xi teased, amusement gleaming in his eyes. "Be obedient, and you'll get a reward."
Zi Ling tilted its tiny head, confused about what exactly "obedient" meant.
"Simple," Liu Xi explained patiently. "I say something—you do it."
"Hiss~" Zi Ling responded.
"All right, lie down."
After a moment of thought, Zi Ling lowered itself onto the grass, lying perfectly still.
"Good," Liu Xi said approvingly, feeding it another few drops of elixir.
Zi Ling eagerly licked the liquid clean and hissed again, clearly asking for more.
"Now, stand up."
In an instant, Zi Ling lifted off the ground, hovering before Liu Xi.
He blinked. "Ah… I meant upright, not flying," he said, shaking his head with a laugh. "But still—quick response. You've earned it."
He rewarded her with another few drops of elixir.
"Now roll."
Zi Ling twirled in midair, flashing her soft, delicate belly before him.
Smirking, Liu Xi gently traced the chopstick along her underside twice. The serpent's body coiled instantly, twisting into loops as it hissed in protest.
"Hahaha, all right, all right! Here's your reward," Liu Xi said, laughing as he handed out more elixir.
Zi Ling stretched her slender body and darted forward, licking every drop with relish, her tail flicking happily.

Seated comfortably, Liu Xi tossed the chopstick lightly into the air. "Fetch it, Zi Ling!"
With a burst of dazzling color, Zi Ling shot forward like lightning. In the blink of an eye, she snatched the chopstick mid-flight, stopped midair, then darted back toward Liu Xi, proudly presenting her catch.
Liu Xi chuckled as he took it from her. "Good girl." He fed her another reward.
If Queen Medusa ever saw her reborn Seven Colored Heaven Swallowing Python being trained like a pet… with her pride, she'd probably kill him on the spot.
Zi Ling, however, didn't seem to mind. She wagged her tail eagerly, hissing again as if to say, "Let's keep playing!"
Despite her incredible bloodline, Zi Ling's current soul was new—pure and childlike. She loved company, games, and affection.
To match her growing speed, Liu Xi threw the chopstick farther this time. Zi Ling's eyes tracked it sharply, and with a hiss of excitement, she became a flash of seven-colored light once more.
Moments later, she returned, proudly dropping the chopstick into his hand, her crystalline eyes sparkling with joy.
Liu Xi laughed softly, giving her another small treat before tucking the bottle and chopstick back into his ring.
Seeing this, Zi Ling blinked curiously as Liu Xi rose, brushing off his robes. "That's enough for today. We'll play again tomorrow—I need to get back to training."
"Hiss…" Zi Ling let out a disappointed whine, her tail drooping slightly.
Then, in a blur of light, she slithered up his sleeve and coiled around his wrist, her head resting comfortably against his skin. Having long since overcome her initial fear, the fire-attribute serpent now found warmth and comfort in Liu Xi's aura.
