High above the endless sky, the aftermath of battle was gradually dispersing. The distorted space, however, would not heal so easily—shattered again and again by the devastating Dou Qi of two 9-Star Dou Saints, the heavens now resembled a gaping void, swallowing all light within its eternal darkness.
Hovering amid the ruin, Liu Xi quietly observed the space around him. The scorching flames had incinerated everything—no ashes, no traces—yet from the lingering fluctuations, he could tell that Hun Tiandi had escaped.
Recalling that final moment, Liu Xi's Spiritual Perception faintly caught the image of an ancient mirror. Just before Hun Tiandi perished, his heavily injured body had been absorbed by that mirror. A wisp of searing azure flame was pulled in with him before the artifact shattered completely. The mirror, carved with strange sigils and radiating ancient spatial ripples, seemed less like a treasure and more like a relic of the Dou Qi Era—perhaps a remnant of the Hun Clan's long-lost Dou Di ancestor.
Liu Xi's gaze deepened.
'So that's how he fled... a hidden life-saving technique left by the Dou Di of the Hun Clan, hm?'
He smiled faintly. "I truly am powerful now. If I seize the initiative, even Hun Tiandi can be grievously wounded in an instant." He tilted his head, expression calm but eyes gleaming. "He escaped this time, but with his body so torn apart, whether he can even recover is doubtful."
A soft chuckle escaped his lips. "Hun Tiandi is no longer a threat. It's time to gather the remaining Ancient Jades and rescue my father-in-law."
Stretching lazily, Liu Xi exhaled a slow breath. The surrounding heaven and earth immediately responded—massive streams of energy poured toward him, replenishing what little he had consumed. Calling it consumption was an exaggeration; the Dou Qi reservoir of a 9-Star Dou Saint was unimaginably vast. Were it not for Liu Xi's relentless barrage of high-level Dou Techniques that overwhelmed Hun Tiandi early on, even a ten-day, ten-night battle might not have drained him.
Now, as the echoes of their confrontation faded, the shattered sky stood silent, with only Liu Xi remaining—tranquil and unscathed.
In the distance, within the dispersing clouds of blood, the surviving members of the Hun Clan trembled. Their clan leader had been defeated; what resistance could they possibly muster now? Even the arrogant Hun Clan had their pride stripped bare.
Liu Xi's eyes swept across them, his gaze glacial, filled with undisguised killing intent. The other ancient clans might have their nuances, but the Hun Clan? Not a single one of them was innocent.
"Run."
The command came not from Liu Xi but from within the Hun Clan itself—panic erupting like wildfire. The massive blood cloud exploded apart as countless Soul experts fled in all directions. Pride meant nothing before such an overwhelming power.
Liu Xi's lips curved upward. He lifted one palm and casually pressed forward. The heavens trembled. A boundless energy tide erupted forth, carrying his will—unquestionable and absolute.
The torrent spread faster than lightning, sweeping across the sky. Those who lagged behind—Dou Saints and Half Saints alike—were instantly caught within the current. In a blink, their bodies were crushed into scarlet mist, blooming like dreadful flowers under a blood-colored sun.
The surge rolled onward, devouring more of the fleeing experts. Those below 8-Star could not even resist; their eyes widened in horror and despair before their bodies disintegrated into the roiling crimson tide. Only a scant few higher-ranked Dou Saints managed to barely escape alive.
One palm—an entire army erased.
No, among them there were no powerhouses like the Four Demon Saints, but the destruction was still apocalyptic.
Liu Xi lowered from the sky, his azure robe fluttering as he drifted toward Zi Yan.
Countless pairs of eyes—feral, reverent, awed—followed his descent. Magical Beasts had always revered the strong, and though Liu Xi was human, his might transcended bloodlines. His very presence demanded worship.
Zhu Bei was quick to act. He dispatched several experts to pursue the surviving Hun Clan members while ordering others to open a spatial passage, allowing the vast Beast Army to withdraw back to the Beast Region.
"Zi Yan, you've worked hard."
Liu Xi smiled softly, his voice warm and steady. "From now on, no one will ever bully us again."
Zi Yan's violet-gold eyes flickered with relief as she threw herself into his embrace. Against Hun Tiandi, she had stood as the proud Dragon Emperor of the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe; but before Liu Xi, she could finally be herself—the carefree, mischievous Zi Yan she once was.
Her cheeks flushed as she laughed lightly. "Big Brother, you're so strong now! Even Hun Tiandi couldn't defeat you. When the Medicinal Ceremony began, I could sense the terrifying energy from his clash with the Gu Clan's leader—it shook all of Central Plains!"
Liu Xi arched an eyebrow, smiling. "Of course. Hun Tiandi? He's nothing. Even if he and Gu Yuan join forces, I wouldn't be afraid. I've had enough of playing cautious. From now on, whoever offends me—gets beaten!"
Zi Yan giggled, eyes glimmering with adoration. "Big Brother, you're so domineering. It's... making my heart race."
For a moment, laughter and warmth filled the air amid the ruins.
From Zi Yan's words, Liu Xi learned that his closed-door cultivation had lasted over a month. During that time, the Yao Realm had been cut off entirely from the outside world. When the Gu Clan attempted to send reinforcements, Hun Tiandi intercepted them personally.
The Hun Clan's foundation ran far deeper than anyone imagined. Even while sealing off the Yao Realm, they managed to restrain the Gu Clan's might—Gu Yuan, Black Submerged King Gu Lie, and the Gu Dao Three Sages—an astonishing lineup: one 9-Star Dou Saint, one 8-Star, and three 7-Star experts. Their battle had shaken the entire Central Plains, especially the duel between Hun Tiandi and Gu Yuan. The entire continent had felt the aftershocks.
Soon after, news spread like wildfire: the Yao Realm was destroyed; the Lei and Yan Clans' leaders were slain, their elites nearly annihilated.
Central Plains was thrown into chaos. Fear gripped every corner as rumors spread that the Hun Clan was about to unify the continent.
Then came even darker whispers—traitors from the Gu, Lei, and Yan Clans had stolen their clans' Ancient Jades and defected to the Hun Clan.
The fury of the three clans was boundless. They united in desperation, determined to stop Hun Tiandi from assembling all the Ancient Jades and seizing the inheritance of the Toushe Ancient Emperor. Should that happen, the rest of them would be doomed.
Yet, fate turned unexpectedly. The Yao Realm vanished from sight; the Void Devouring Flame never returned to the Hun Clan. Instead, the Beast Region took control of the Yao Realm's remnants.
The mystery only deepened. The four clans hesitated to move recklessly. Though they sent envoys many times to investigate, Zi Yan, backed by the entire Beast Region and the three high-ranked Dou Saints—Zhu Bei, Zhu Yu, and Zhu Fei—repelled them each time.
When Hun Tiandi finally lost patience and came in person, Liu Xi emerged from his breakthrough—and in one strike, defeated him.
Rumors soon swept the entire Central Plains: Hun Tiandi, the terrifying Hun Clan Leader and one of the continent's strongest 9-Star Dou Saints, had fallen to Liu Xi.
Whether or not the Hun Tiandi still lived, one fact was certain—
Liu Xi's name now shook the Central Plains.
