Boundless Continent, Boundless City.
Things were no longer as they had been. Ever since the death of the Boundless Ancestor, the city had become a masterless place. After a brief period of chaos, a new ruler rose—his own disciple.
The Boundless Ancestor still retained a trace of his divine soul, though no one knew it. Yet even now, he dared not return, for fear that his disciple might harbor malicious thoughts. Though that disciple had once been quite filial, the Boundless Ancestor knew that with only a remnant soul and a fraction of his former power, he could not risk trusting in another's loyalty.
That day, a surge of space fluctuations raged across the sky above Boundless City. The heavens themselves cracked apart, revealing a massive rift overhead.
From within stepped a resolute young man, his eyes sharp as blades, with a delicate black-clad girl following close behind.
Such a grand disturbance naturally drew every gaze in the city. When that vast, heaven-suppressing pressure descended like a tidal wave, the crowd trembled as memories of the terror brought by Liu Xi surged back.
Fear spread once more through Boundless City.
The young man extended his hand, grasped a handful of Spiritual Energy from the air, and absorbed it into his body. After sensing quietly for a moment, his brows furrowed as he opened his eyes again, a faint trace of worry flashing within them.
"This is the place where Qingzhu last appeared," he said in a deep voice. "There's still a remnant of the Yuan Power lingering here—it hasn't yet been fully assimilated by Spiritual Energy. She couldn't have left more than half a month ago."
"Brother Lin Dong," said the black-clad girl softly, "there's still the scent of blood in the air. There must have been a battle here. Why don't we ask around?"
Lin Dong nodded. "Good idea."
The two of them then descended quietly into the city.
---
As a former Plane Master, Lin Dong still held immense advantages even after arriving in the Great Thousand World. Once his Yuan Power converted into Spiritual Energy, his strength rapidly recovered—and even entered a period of explosive growth. The foundation of a Plane Master was vast, transforming swiftly into power.
The black-clad girl beside him, Qing Tan, had originally been a native of the Great Thousand World before drifting to the Tianxuan Continent. Now that she had returned, she was like a fish back in water—her Yuan Power naturally harmonized with Spiritual Energy without any obstacle.
Only Ling Qingzhu, who neither hailed from this world nor had a world's support, faced a much harsher path.
---
Not long after, a storm of thunder erupted in the center of Boundless City. The Boundless Ancestor's disciple, who had barely begun his tyrannical rule, was directly obliterated under Lin Dong's wrath.
Moments later, Lin Dong and Qing Tan appeared once again in the sky. Having learned the truth of what had transpired, Lin Dong's expression was icy cold.
Had the Boundless Ancestor himself still been alive, Lin Dong would likely have torn him apart on the spot. The fact that the old man survived by chance was pure luck.
To Lin Dong, Ling Qingzhu's importance needed no explanation—after all, she was the first woman in his life.
"So, she was rescued by someone," Lin Dong murmured. Though his tone was calm, there was relief in his eyes.
"Brother Lin Dong, at least we now know Sister Qingzhu is safe," Qing Tan comforted gently, sensing his guilt.
"Thank you, Qingzhu. I'll definitely find her," Lin Dong said firmly, determination gleaming in his gaze.
He then activated the Eye of the Plane—a power that could trace the faintest remnants of energy belonging to his home world. As long as Qingzhu carried even the slightest mark of the Tianxuan Continent, the Eye would detect it.
It was this very Eye that had guided him all the way to the Boundless Continent. The Great Thousand World was unimaginably vast—finding one person without a clue would be near impossible otherwise.
Following its guidance, Lin Dong soon discovered faint traces of spatial rupture within the Boundless City's void layer—proof that Ling Qingzhu had been taken away through torn space.
"Let's go," he called to Qing Tan, tearing open the void before stepping through it.
---
Meanwhile, Liu Xi remained unaware that Lin Dong was already searching for them—or perhaps he simply didn't care. In truth, Liu Xi was planning to find Lin Dong himself.
Under Qing Yanjing's guidance, Ling Qingzhu's cultivation had stabilized at the 9th Grade Sovereign level. Once she finished harmonizing with her new Spiritual Energy, breaking into the Earth Sovereign Stage would be a matter of course.
By the lakeside, the air was calm.
When Ling Qingzhu awoke, her presence seemed even more ethereal than before, as if washed clean of all impurities. Her beauty now carried a celestial clarity, her aura in perfect harmony with heaven and earth.
Feeling the newly circulating Spiritual Energy within her body, she was momentarily dazed—it was unfamiliar, yet somehow purer and more natural, as though she had finally become part of this world.
Landing lightly, her robes fluttering like snow, she smiled faintly and turned to Qing Yanjing. "Thank you so much for your help, Sister."
Qing Yanjing returned her smile. "It was just a small effort."
To Qing Yanjing, it truly was nothing, but to Ling Qingzhu, it was salvation. Her gratitude was deep and sincere.
Then, thinking of Lin Dong and Qing Tan, she asked softly, "How long did the conversion take?"
Liu Xi walked over, hands clasped behind his back, smiling. "Roughly half a month. Jing'er spent a bit of time helping you stabilize your realm. Otherwise, it wouldn't have helped you—it would've harmed you."
Ling Qingzhu turned toward him, eyes reflecting quiet thanks. She owed him her life—and the fact that he, too, was from a lower plane gave her a sense of kinship.
But upon hearing that half a month had passed, unease flickered across her eyes. "Thank you both… but I must go. I came here with two companions, and I need to find them."
Yet before she could take a step, Liu Xi's expression shifted slightly. His gaze turned toward the distant sky, a knowing smile curving his lips.
"There's no need," he said casually. "It seems someone's already coming for you."
"Huh?" Ling Qingzhu froze, puzzled.
Liu Xi chuckled softly. "Someone is approaching fast. Likely the ones you're looking for."
Joy surged through Ling Qingzhu's heart as she turned toward the horizon.
Ripples spread across heaven and earth, and a vast aura swept toward them. The void cracked open—and from it, Lin Dong and Qing Tan stepped out.
When Ling Qingzhu's and Lin Dong's eyes met, emotion overflowed.
After so long apart, they had finally found each other again.
