Chapter 55 - Chapter 55 Conversation

"I apologize, customer, for the unpleasant experience."

Shelly apologized to Nancy, then gestured with her eyes for the two staff members beside her to drag the person on the ground away. The man, who had collapsed, sobered up quite a bit and struggled in the hands of the two staff members, "What are you doing? Let go!"

"Excuse me, sir, today's meal will be your last purchase at our establishment. Moli Restaurant will not welcome you in the future."

"Huh?" The man was furious: "What do you mean by that?"

Shelly's gaze was cold: "It means exactly what it says. My restaurant does not welcome scum."

"You…"

The man raised his fist, preparing to swing at Shelly, but then it was as if he suddenly remembered something, and his fist stopped in mid-air, then slowly retracted.

'I heard that a noble caused trouble in this restaurant a few days ago and paid a heavy price. If I were to act now… I guess… I'd better not.'

Looking at Shelly, the man said in a low voice: "Who cares about coming to your broken restaurant? There are many better restaurants in the Royal Capital than yours. Just you wait, this rotten place of yours won't amount to much."

After saying that, he snorted coldly, paid, and walked out of the restaurant.

The sudden interlude did not disturb the rhythm of dining in the venue. To compensate Nancy, who was visiting for the first time, Shelly uncharacteristically generously offered a free meal. Just then, Bai En walked out of the kitchen, carrying dishes.

"Why are you out here?" Shelly asked.

"I heard a commotion, something seemed to have happened, so I thought I'd come out and take a look."

"Small matter." Shelly didn't take the recent incident to heart at all: "Just a rich merchant who got drunk and caused trouble in the shop. I can handle such things; there's no need for a great Magic Knight like you for now."

"Shelley-jie (Sister Shelley) is joking."

Bai En responded with a smile, but then he saw a familiar face at the dining table, "Yo ~ Nancy, eating here?"

"Bai En… Is this you?"

Noticing the other person eyeing his attire, Bai En pointed to his clothes: "As you can see, I am the head chef of this restaurant."

Before the two could chat more, Shelly observed them with a strange look: "Are you two… acquainted?"

"Oh ~ Shelley-jie (Sister Shelley), let me introduce you. This is Nancy, she's a member of the Aqua Deer Magic Knights, just like me."

"Is that so…" Shelly's face was full of smiles. She took the plate from Bai En's hand and placed the fragrant dishes on the table: "Then, Little Bai En, take a short break and take good care of Miss Nancy for me. Make sure she feels right at home ~"

Shelly winked at Bai En, as if saying: "I'm counting on you, go for it!"

'What does that mean?'

After Shelly walked further away, Bai En, looking at Nancy and the food on the table, fell silent. Although they had completed several missions together and joined the Aqua Deer Magic Knights on the same day, the two were not close. Aside from the egg fried rice that night, they rarely interacted.

Just as Bai En himself said, he was not good at chatting with girls.

Shelly was different because she would always actively seek out Bai En for a conversation; actively initiating a conversation and passively responding are two different modes.

Just as he was thinking of something to say to ease the awkwardness, Nancy spoke first: "I didn't expect you to be the head chef here. No wonder business is so booming."

"…"

"I thought you were usually practicing magic when you weren't at the base? I didn't expect you to be making money."

"It can also be considered practicing magic," Bai En explained.

"Practicing magic?" A few more doubts appeared in Nancy's eyes as she looked at Bai En.

"My magic is related to food, so… this should also count as practicing magic and getting stronger."

"Food…" Nancy murmured. She had a relatively deep impression of Bai En's magic; one time was when they fought Captain Rill together, and another time was in the mine, but… that didn't look like food-related magic at all, did it?

It looked more like sword magic with astonishing attack power.

However, from the other person's calm tone, it didn't seem like he was lying, so this was quite… "Interesting, your magic." After thinking for a while, Nancy said.

"You too."

"What?"

Their gazes met. Nancy saw a pair of dark eyes that seemed to see right through her.

Bai En continued: "Your magic is also very interesting; it shouldn't just be what you usually show."

He thought of that night when they fought Captain Rill. The powerful magic that erupted was suddenly concealed, and her entire fighting style was full of unfamiliarity and flaws. She seemed to be suppressing something, not wanting to reveal her true self.

Just like the Magic Emperor Julius commented when he was in the Royal Capital.

Bai En's words made Nancy fall silent.

From afar, Shelly, standing by the counter, couldn't help but watch Bai En, looking like she was enjoying some gossip. At first, seeing the two enter a state of conversation, she praised in her heart, 'Well done, Little Bai En.'

After Bai En finished speaking, the atmosphere between the two became silent and heavy, and Shelly couldn't help but complain in her heart, 'You're terrible, Little Bai En, you're useless even when given a chance.'

The wind blew softly.

In the Royal Capital, inside the Wizard King's office, Julius was chatting with someone who had suddenly appeared in the office.

"You came here first? Not planning to go back to the Magic Knights first?" Julius had a smile on his face, clearly very familiar with the visitor.

"Going back to the Magic Knights will have to wait a bit."

The voice speaking from beneath the gray robe paused: "I came to you for something very important. You still remember our agreement, don't you?"

"Of course."

"It is about to manifest."

The smile on Julius's face slowly faded, replaced by seriousness and solemnity: "Are you sure?"

"There's no mistake. This is the divine prophecy we… received."

"When?" Julius slowly said, looking at the figure in front of him: "Or rather, what do you need me to do?"

"…Viable combat power in the Royal Capital, as many great Magic Knights as possible."

"This…" The Wizard King Julius pondered for a moment: "I will have Captain Rill go with you. As for the other Captains… it's difficult. The attack of the White Night Demon was just recently; if all combat power is pulled out, those guys… will not allow it."

"I need the entire… Aqua Deer Magic Knights."

"Alright."

Their conversation abruptly ended here. Just as the figure under the gray robe turned to leave, Julius called out to him: "I think that guy must be very troublesome. Are you… sure there won't be any problems?"

"Under the guidance of the divine prophecy, we will win."

With that, he walked straight outside. The wind gently blew off the hood that concealed his face, and a murmur echoed in the empty corridor of the Royal Capital, "It's time to go back and see."
