Chapter 64 - Chapter 64 Demon God - Cerberus

The crystal lights on the dome glowed, and within the deep underground kingdom, few dwarves could be seen in the houses and streets. Even in the square where the palace horn blew at the very top, only the sound of the wind remained.

Where did they go?

There was only one answer: the Bronze Fertile Plains.

At the very edge of the dense Bronze Fertile Plains, where it connected to the dwarven kingdom of Khazad-dûm, square formations were lined up one after another. Dwarves wielding heavy shields stood at the front, followed by elite dwarves with warhammers and battle axes.

Their gazes were all fixed on the meteorite at the top of the bronze forest. The half-bronze-corrupted meteorite had begun to float and shed, large chunks of debris suspended by magic.

The dwarves did not attack immediately. A rash assault on a still-sealed demon god would only hasten the collapse of the sealing magic, helping the demon god escape. They waited for the moment the demon god freed itself—that would be its weakest moment, and the best chance to kill it.

Within the dwarven formations was a chariot pulled by horned horses, and standing on it was a dwarf in armor, holding a battle axe. He was the King of this underground kingdom, Fendro Dulin, Dulin IV.

Exaggerated wrinkles covered his face. Fendro, in his twilight years and in decline, still bravely participated in this battle against the demon god, upholding his duty as King.

This would likely be his last battle, and now he intended to bring a perfect end to his career as King, leading the dwarves to kill Cerberus, the demon god attempting to open the gates of the underworld.

Although the bronze murals, passed down through generations and witnessed by new Kings, depicted how terrifying the demon god was, and how thrilling the sealing battle had been... and no dwarf now possessed sealing magic, he firmly believed that he and the dwarven warriors would win.

If the dwarven ancestors could seal the demon god five hundred years ago, then today, five hundred years later, they could kill it!

More and more bronze debris fell from the meteorite, and Cerberus's struggling half-body could now be faintly seen. Bluish-green patterns were deeply etched into its dark mane, and it had a long tail... — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

Khazad-dûm, within the dwarven treasury.

One of the two Mages behind Morris had disappeared, reappearing via spatial magic in the passage where Sesk and Jie Kai were. He blocked Sesk and them from entering the treasury.

Nancy's gaze fell upon Fei Leimena, who held a scroll and had an Earth Spirit floating beside her, as she was the only female enemy among them. The remaining enemies were Morris, Ladoros, and the Mage in a magic robe standing behind Morris.

Bai En hesitated slightly, not complaining about the one-against-many predicament like Jie Kai, but because the magical aura emanating from Fei Leimena was clearly the strongest among this group.

Nancy gave Bai En a look that said it was fine to leave her to it, and thus the battle lines were drawn.

Zhan Yan emerged from the glowing grimoire. Bai En held his sword, watching Morris, the hostile atmosphere somewhat tense.

Morris looked at Bai En and Nancy, who had appeared here, with interest. He was quite curious about why these guys from the Clover Kingdom had come all this way.

"Judging by your cloaks, you must be from the Aqua Deer Squad, right?" Morris walked forward with a smile, trying to build rapport. "Coming all this way, you must have worked hard."

"So, what are you here for?"

"And what are you here for?" Bai En countered.

Morris shrugged, answering seriously yet casually: "As you can see, the Earth Spirit, one of the Four Great Spirits, is already in hand. So, what about you?"

Bai En thought for a moment, then waved the sword in his hand and replied: "Naturally... the Earth Spirit as well."

"I heard that when a Spirit's holder dies, the Spirit will choose a new master. I wonder if that's true?"

His words intensified the already hostile atmosphere, making it explosive. Ladoros, standing at the main entrance, brutally attacked directly. "Stop your babbling, just die!"

A white circular barrier appeared around him, and dozens of magic bullets shot out from it. The white magic bullets trailed long streaking lights, moving very fast. Bai En skillfully dodged using Magic Perception.

However, the magic bullets that were dodged and about to fall next dropped into a silver magic space. Consequently, all the magic bullets changed trajectory and shot out from another silver space, flying in unison towards Bai En.

Zhan Yan's sword light flashed, and the magic bullets were instantly cut in half. Bai En charged forward, slashing at Morris with his sword. Before he could even touch him, the 'Release' sword-shaped flowing slash had already reached Morris and struck down instantly.

A look of surprise flickered across Morris's face. He reached out, and thin magical threads extended from his fingertips. Although the slash was highly condensed, under the surgical-like modified threads, the flowing slash dissipated the instant it was about to land.

At the same time, a silver space appeared beneath Morris and the Mage behind him. Both disappeared from in front of Bai En, reappearing beside Ladoros at the main entrance.

Bai En, who was about to launch another attack, paused. His grimoire glowed faintly.

This meant... Bai En's gaze searched his surroundings, and a scorching laser beam struck. Magic Conversion appeared in his other hand. Again, the tip of the sword touched the scorching laser beam, drawing out a long trail of fine sparks.

Finally... amidst a pile of gold, Bai En saw the quietly lying black stone. The surrounding overflowing magic was silently absorbed by it, feeding insatiably like a gluttonous snake.

Luck... sometimes it's just like that.

It's never there when you want it, but quietly appears when you don't care.

A black iron sword, similar to the Magic Conversion in his hand, flew out. However, compared to it, this sword had a linear groove in the middle of its blade.

The new cooking utensil hovered over the tranquil black stone. Before long, a fluid like water spiraled upwards, climbing all the way onto the sword blade, rotating rapidly like a whirlpool.

"What... what kind of magic is this?"

Morris was greatly shocked to see the unusual scene before him, but the next moment, he ordered Ladoros and the spatial Mage behind him, named Adela, to attack the sword, attempting to interrupt the ritual.

Spatial magic spheres and laser beams flew towards the iron sword. How could Bai En let them succeed? Streams of light flowed around Magic Conversion as he blocked in front, effortlessly dispelling the magic.

Suddenly, a loud bang came from beside him.

After a few exchanges with Fei Leimena, the Earth Spirit possessor, Nancy was blasted into the wall, and shattered stones continuously fell from the wall.

The difference in their strength seemed vast.

Just as Bai En was wondering whether to intervene in the battle, a powerful magical force erupted from the shattered wall, and a low female voice rang out: "Earth Legion Magic, derived Earth Armor Legion."
