The next morning,
Inside the hotel.
Lynn slowly sat up in bed, stretching lazily.
He got up and headed into the bathroom, letting the rushing water wash over him.
Administrative leave really was comfortable—he could sleep as late as he wanted.
Looking at himself in the mirror, Lynn realized he needed to find a place to live.
He couldn't keep staying in a hotel forever.
Last time, those HYDRA Council bastards had turned his apartment into Swiss cheese.
Why hadn't he demanded compensation before killing them?
Next time, he absolutely couldn't let anger cloud his judgment—negotiate compensation first, then wipe them out. It wouldn't be too late.
After washing up, Lynn changed clothes, planning to grab lunch and then look for a new place.
He'd gotten a few million dollars from that rich drug addict—ehm.. anxiety potion addict—Tony—plenty to buy property in Manhattan.
Just as he walked downstairs and got into his car, his phone rang.
"Hmm?"
He answered, and Tony Stark's urgent voice came through: "Lynn, do you have any miraculous potion that can heal injuries quickly?"
Hearing Tony's urgent tone, Lynn immediately assumed another payday was coming.
"Of course. You know I'm the only potion master in the world. No matter how serious the injury is, as long as they're not dead, the secret medicine I make can save them quickly."
"It's just a bit pricey—more expensive than regular healing potions, since the ingredients are hard to—"
Before he could even name a price, his phone chimed with a notification.
He glanced down—one million dollars deposited.
Lynn almost shouted in joy. Bless that rich addict.
"Lynn, I'm at my private hospital in Manhattan. Bring that potion as fast as you can—it's urgent!"
"Ten minutes!"
When the money arrived, Lynn's customer service attitude always became phenomenal.
He stepped on the gas and sped straight toward Stark's private hospital.
By the time he arrived, Tony Stark and Pepper were pacing anxiously in the hallway.
Pepper seemed to be trying to talk Tony out of something, while Tony shook his head stubbornly.
The moment he saw Lynn, Tony rushed over. "Lynn, finally—come with me, quickly!"
"What happened?"
Dragged forward by Tony, Lynn asked as they hurried down the corridor.
"It's Happy. He went to follow that guy Killian, but one of Killian's subordinates found him."
"And that subordinate mutated—he even exploded. Happy almost died!"
"Happy's in the emergency room right now. The doctor said even with surgery, there's only a sixty-percent chance he'll make it."
Tony stopped walking and turned to Lynn, expression deadly serious. "Lynn, Happy is my friend. Your miraculous potion has a hundred percent chance of saving him, right?"
Before Lynn could respond, Pepper hurried over.
She greeted Lynn with a small nod, then said to Tony, "Tony, we have to trust the doctors. Happy is my friend too—of course I don't want anything to happen to him."
"But we should believe in science, not this mysterious potion you're talking about. God, I can't believe we're even discussing this."
Pepper gave Lynn an apologetic look. "I'm sorry, Mr. Hall. I don't mean to offend you. I hope you understand—Happy is my friend, and I'm terrified something will happen to him."
Lynn shrugged. "I get it. Just like the youth potion I sold to that countess when I was in London."
"She didn't believe it could turn her appearance from forty back to twenty—but after she drank it and saw the results, she paid me a fortune and begged me to supply it regularly."
Of course, there was no countess—Pepper had simply reminded him of the youth potion he'd unlocked from the Potion Mastery LV1 formula, a potion completely useless to him.
And the effect of that potion only lasted about half a year.
But for someone like Pepper, that was still more tempting than any cosmetic procedure.
He could probably make a fortune from it.
Sure enough, when Pepper heard it, her eyes lit up instantly.
Even so, she still looked skeptical and didn't say anything.
Tony, however, looked her dead in the eye. "Pepper, trust me. I've seen Lynn's miracles with my own eyes. He can save Happy."
Just then, the private doctor rushed out. "Mr. Stark, you need to make a decision immediately about the surgery."
"His injuries are severe. If we delay any further, the chance of survival will drop even more."
Hearing that, Tony said flatly, "You don't need to worry about it."
He grabbed Lynn and led him straight into the room.
Happy lay on the bed with a breathing tube in his mouth, his body covered in severe injuries from the explosion.
Tony looked at him with clear distress, then turned to Lynn. "Lynn… please.. it's up to you."
"No problem."
Nodding, Lynn stepped forward and pulled a purple recovery potion from his pocket.
He removed the breathing tube from Happy's mouth and poured the potion in.
The doctor tried to stop him, but Tony Stark raised a hand and blocked him.
The unconscious Happy swallowed the potion.
Within seconds, the burns and trauma on his face began to knit back together.
Not only that—the wounds across his body were healing at a speed visible to the naked eye, and even his breathing started to steady.
The monitor beside the bed showed his vital signs climbing steadily upward.
"My god… this is unbelievable."
The private doctor stood frozen, mouth open in shock.
Even Pepper—who had been anxious and half convinced Tony was being scammed—stared wide-eyed at the sight.
She never expected it to be real, yet Happy's horrific injuries were rapidly disappearing before her eyes.
"Oh my God… this is indeed incredible," Pepper whispered.
Tony let out a long breath, then spread his hands toward her with a smug look. "See? I told you—my friend isn't a fraud."
After that, Tony turned to Lynn. "Lynn, how long until Happy wakes up?"
"Hmm.. His injuries were extremely serious.. not just external trauma; his internal organs took heavy damage too. But they're already healing."
"In a few hours at most, he'll wake up completely recovered."
Tony exhaled deeply in relief and clenched his fist. "This won't end here. Extremis… I remember what Dr. Maya said back then."
