Chapter 17 - Chapter 16: Entei’s Dilemma (Long Chapter)

"Is your Master here?"

The silence was first broken by Entei. It looked at the Salamence that had suddenly rushed in with a puzzled expression. The other Pokémon also looked over, puzzled.

Mew opened its mouth, wanting to identify Jake as its Master. But suddenly, Jake, who had just been lying on Miltank's body drinking milk, teleported in front of it, hugged its neck, and shouted excitedly.

"Meow~" — Master, I miss you so much.

After speaking, Jake intimately rubbed his head against Mew, who was still in its Salamence form. Mew was instantly flustered. It lowered its head, looking at Jake in shock. Why was its Master calling it Master, and using its appearance?

Entei and the other Pokémon were also flustered at this moment, with expressions as if they had seen a ghost. Mew, said to possess the genes of all Pokémon and considered by many human scholars to be the ancestor of Pokémon, was actually calling a Salamence its Master? Was there something wrong with this world? Or had their ears deceived them? How could such a bizarre event occur where an ancestor called a junior its Master?

Immediately after, Entei felt something was amiss and said in surprise, "Senior, are you well now?"

"Meow~" — Yes, yes, I'm great, Miltank's milk is very effective, I feel much better now!

Jake quickly said, simultaneously communicating with Mew via telepathy in his mind, telling it not to be surprised, to remain calm, and to agree with whatever he said, cooperating with him in this act.

Entei, after hearing this, first nodded in satisfaction to Miltank, then asked, "Senior, why do you call it Master? And when it came in, it said its Master was here?"

"Meow~" — Because my Master is human. As for why Master said his Master was here, he must have been too excited and misspoke temporarily.

Jake said calmly, while also using telepathy to tell Mew to quickly transform into his original appearance to corroborate his statement. A flash of light, and Mew, cooperating with Jake, transformed from a Salamence into a human.

"Human!"

Entei and the surrounding Pokémon immediately bared their fangs and became wary.

"Meow~" — Everyone, there's no need for this. My Master is very good, he is very kind and won't harm anyone. He will also protect you.

Jake quickly explained. But Entei's brows furrowed even tighter after hearing this, and it looked at Mew, who had transformed into Jake's likeness, with even more disdain. It hated humans, especially after the recent experience of being hunted by those guys.

"Hypocritical human, although I don't know how you bewitched the Senior, I advise you to release the Senior. Otherwise, I will not spare you." Entei's face was grim, and flames began to spill from its mouth, as if it would unleash a fiery breath if its demand wasn't met.

But two seconds after the words fell, several Aipom suddenly ran into the cave entrance. They excitedly called out to Entei.

"Wah wah wah~~~" — Lord Entei, humans have arrived, bringing many powerful Pokémon, and they are searching the forest. I heard them discussing capturing Lord Mew.

The Aipom's words made Entei's face even grimmer, and it turned its head to look at Mew again.

"Human, these people are all after Senior Mew, and you are incapable of protecting it. If you care for the Senior, I hope you release it immediately, and I will guard it," Entei said. With that, it led a group of Pokémon out of the cave, leaving only the two Miltank.

However, as it passed Mew, it said one more thing. "Senior Mew is still injured, let it rest here. I will block those people. As for other matters, we'll discuss them when we return. But if you try to run away with the Senior, I swear that even if it takes my entire life, I will find you and make you pay for your actions."

With that, Entei led the Pokémon away.

Mew's face flushed red, and it glared angrily at Jake. It felt so wronged, incredibly wronged, bearing its Master's face and being disliked by others, while its Master bore its face and enjoyed others' adoration. More importantly, while it was fighting for its Master, its Master was hiding here drinking milk. It was truly infuriating.

"Don't be angry, don't be angry. Once they're far away, we'll switch back immediately." Jake saw Mew's expression and quickly comforted it with telepathy.

A few seconds later, Jake watched Entei lead the group of Pokémon away. He then exhaled a cloud of white mist from his mouth, enveloping himself and Mew within it. Two seconds later, the white mist in the cave gradually dispersed. Jake returned to his original appearance, and Mew also took the opportunity to finally return to its original form.

"I want milk too."

As soon as it returned to its original form, Mew immediately said. Jake was instantly speechless upon hearing this. So, you weren't feeling wronged because you were covering for me; you were feeling wronged because you saw me drinking milk and you weren't, right?

"Go ahead, go ahead," Jake sighed.

Mew then excitedly pounced on the two Miltank and went to drink milk. Watching it vigorously suck milk, Jake shook his head helplessly, then smacked his lips, unable to resist savoring the taste of the milk. And you know what, the taste was quite rich and delicious.

"You stay here, I'm going to find Entei," Jake said. Mew nodded. And the two Miltank did not stop Jake from leaving; Lord Entei had only asked them to guard Mew. As for that human? He could do whatever he wanted.

Jake left the cave, transformed into a Pidgey, and used his Divine Beast Perception to head towards Entei's location... A few minutes later.

Jake arrived by a river about four or five kilometers from the cave. Entei was there, leading a large group of Pokémon in battle against nearly a hundred Pokémon Trainers. The battle was currently fierce and evenly matched.

However, after watching for a while, Jake sensed a disparity in strength. Entei was very strong, like a warrior capable of holding off a thousand men, but ultimately, only it was strong. The other Pokémon it brought, facing Pokémon commanded by Trainers, were mostly unable to win. Some were even injured and then taken advantage of, captured with a Poké Ball. This meant that Entei's side would have fewer and fewer teammates as the battle continued, while the opposing side would have more and more teammates.

"Entei, you now have only two paths: either obey me and hand Mew over to our Blue and White Society, or wait for us to beat your companions and you half to death, forcibly capture you, and then go after Mew."

In mid-air, a youth standing on a Dragonite said coldly.

"You're dreaming!"

Entei roared, using Stomp on an Onix charging towards it, then spitting a scorching Sacred Fire towards the Dragonite Youth. Unfortunately, the Dragonite Youth had anticipated this and had already had his Dragonite dodge a step ahead. The powerful Sacred Fire only hit empty air. The surrounding Pokémon ganging up on Entei then continued their assault...

"Truly the most resolute and tough guy among the Legendary Beasts."

On a tree, Jake, transformed into a Pidgey, looked down at Entei, who was relentlessly besieged yet stubbornly insisted on protecting Mew, and couldn't help but feel admiration. With a Pokémon like this, if you don't make it truly obey you, trust you, and acknowledge you, even if you forcibly capture it with a Poké Ball, it's merely a capture in form. When it comes to actual combat, it absolutely won't pay you any mind, and might even help others fight you.

"It's time for me to act," Jake thought.

The next second, a white light flashed, and Jake transformed from a Pidgey back into Mew's appearance, rushing towards the battlefield. At the same time, he condensed an Aura Sphere in his hands and threw it towards a Tyranitar that was about to unleash a Hyper Beam on Entei.

An explosion sounded, the Aura Sphere interrupting Tyranitar's Hyper Beam. But it also attracted the attention of many people. They looked up, and when they saw Jake, who had transformed into Mew, they became wildly excited. They all shouted that Mew had appeared, urging their comrades to go, saying that this time it absolutely couldn't be allowed to escape again.

Immediately after, dozens of ranged attacks were launched towards Jake. Fortunately, Jake dodged with a Teleport, then provocatively beckoned to them, and subsequently ran in the complete opposite direction from the cave.

"Brothers, chase! Don't worry about Entei; catching Mew is the top priority," the Dragonite Youth quickly ordered.

Below, a group of people, upon hearing this, immediately released their Flying-type Pokémon if they had any. Those without Flying-types immediately released fast-running ground Pokémon. In short, a massive crowd of people frantically chased in Jake's direction.

However, the fastest runner was still Entei. It caught up directly below Jake in less than five seconds.

"Senior, why are you here? Didn't I tell you to rest well in the cave?" Entei communicated with Jake using telepathy, its tone very flustered.

Jake, however, with an extremely cool demeanor, looked back down and replied calmly, "I am not your Senior, I am its Master. Mew is still in the cave; don't follow me. I will lure all these people away. If I don't return, I hope you will help me protect Mew."

After speaking, Jake teleported again and ran in another direction. Entei froze, staring at the spot where Jake had disappeared, stunned. Jake's words began to completely change its perception of him.

After a while, the dazed Entei was startled awake by the humans who wanted to capture Mew. Those people were shouting loudly that Mew had run that way, and urged their comrades to quickly chase.

Entei heard this and couldn't help but imagine several possibilities of what would happen if Jake was captured. The first, killed for revenge. The second, cut into pieces for experiments, to study why he could transform into a Pokémon. The third, tortured to death, to vent the anger of not catching Mew. The second possibility was the most likely and the most tragic. Before long, another thought arose in Entei's mind. That was to save Jake.

But as soon as this thought appeared, it recoiled. Because it wasn't confident it could rescue Jake from those people, and it would also easily draw trouble upon itself, potentially even getting the real Senior Mew involved.

For a moment, Entei was in a dilemma.
