Chapter 99: Summoning the Decepticon King
"Zzzzap!"
A cyan beam of light suddenly shot up from beneath the trembling ground, piercing the air before everyone's eyes and rushing straight toward the ceiling.
Within that light appeared a colossal robotic face the true form of the Fallen.
"Hahaha! I never imagined that regaining my freedom would feel this magnificent! Grimlock, I must admit you're a genius. A thousand years ago, even when I was at my strongest, I couldn't defeat you, so I accepted being sealed away. But it's such a pity for you… For I am the original Transformer. Even in dormancy, I can continue to evolve. And you can you?"
The Fallen's tone was dripping with arrogance. But why didn't he immediately appear in front of them after reviving?
"Coward! Step forward! If I was able to seal you before, I can put you back into dormancy again! I will never allow a King of Destruction like you to return to Cybertron!"
Well said! Whatever method Grimlock used back then, to have sealed the Fallen at all was nothing short of extraordinary.
"Cybertron? Why would I want to go back there? Don't you understand what kind of experiments I've been conducting on this planet? When you came with Unicron and the Quintessons, my original plan was nearly complete but you ruined everything! Otherwise, I would have already ruled this world and turned it into our new home!"
Sensing the fury in Grimlock's tone, the Fallen's voice grew sharper, laced with scorn.
"Host, it seems we're in trouble this time," Starscream's onboard AI analyzed. "I've detected the properties of that beam. It's not particularly harmful, but it's a fixed Decepticon signal used to summon allies. In other words, the Fallen has already sent out a summoning call!"
It wasn't an ordinary beam of light it was an ancient transmission, carrying a specific Decepticon frequency that few could decipher.
Even as commander of the Decepticon Air Force, Starscream wasn't authorized for that level of access.
But Megatron, as leader of the Decepticons, could sense it immediately.
While traveling at high speed through deep space, the ancient signal captured Megatron's attention in an instant.
"Who are you? How can you transmit this ancient signal? I remember it was lost on Cybertron long ago!"
Although Megatron received the transmission, he couldn't respond on the same ancient channel. He had to relay his questions through standard radio communication and the source replied almost immediately.
"Heh, that was fast. What's wrong? You recognize the signal but don't know how to answer it? Who's your master? That's rather sloppy. This is knowledge every Decepticon leader should possess!"
Compared to Megatron, who ruled by sheer might, the Fallen was a true founding ancestor of the Decepticons. Yet the ancient traditions he once established had long since been forgotten by his descendants.
Most of the newer Decepticons considered those old customs outdated and absurd.
"Well, if I'm not mistaken, the signal you sent came from exactly where I'm headed. So tell me why do you know me? Or just tell me who you are!"
After cross-referencing the coordinates, Megatron grew increasingly intrigued. He hadn't expected that this planet would not only contain abundant resources but also harbor a mysterious, veteran Decepticon.
"Hahaha! It seems there's quite the gap between our knowledge. Listen, boy I am the ancient god of Cybertron, the creator of the Decepticon civilization… I am the Fallen!"
To most Transformers, that name existed only in history books.
But to Megatron, this revelation was earth-shattering. As leader of the Decepticons, he had read classified archives about ancient and powerful beings legends from Cybertron's dawn. And among those names, the Fallen was one of the most feared and revered.
"What?! How is that possible? What are you doing on that planet? I am the current leader of the Decepticons on Cybertron Megatron!
According to everything I know, the name 'Fallen' vanished from our world eons ago. You're not some imposter, are you?"
Megatron halted his ship mid-flight, afraid that continuing might weaken the transmission and cause him to miss even a single word.
Despite his doubts, Megatron's Spark pulsed wildly with excitement.
The progenitor of the Decepticons the source of their power and knowledge was speaking directly to him.
If Megatron could somehow obtain that wisdom, it could lead to his ultimate evolution.
"Hahaha! You know nothing! It seems my descendants have completely forgotten what I left behind before I departed Cybertron. How pitiful!
If those treasures still existed, you wouldn't be so ignorant.
Tell you what why don't you come meet me? Perhaps, if I'm in a good mood, I'll even take you as my apprentice."
The Fallen's tone was filled with genuine disappointment. His conversation made it clear that these modern Decepticons had inherited only violence and stupidity from their ancestors.
Still, this one this Megatron seemed to possess at least a spark of potential.
Perhaps summoning him… might be useful after all.
