Chapter 74 - Chapter 74

One Kick Girl — Chapter 74

"The Bureau's Emergency Damage Control Protocol (We Don't Have One)"

Raon POV — Shion emotional containment leaks — Maestro Dome return cameo

---

1. The Summoning of Shame

The summons came through Raon's wristband at 7:03 AM.

Not a text. Not an email. Not a knock on the door.

A klaxon.

> CODE ORBITAL KICK — REPORT TO DAMAGE CONTROL AT ONCE.

Raon blinked awake on her couch.

"...Did I kick something in my sleep again?"

Shion rolled over, hair messy, eyes narrowed like a predator who'd been woken mid-hunt.

"You kicked the therapy orb," she groaned. "The fragments breached the ventilation system."

"How—"

"Dome ran a 'containment resonance trial' on the remains."

Raon sat upright.

"Dome WHAT?"

Shion rubbed her temples with both hands.

"He made the disco shards… self-replicate."

Raon inhaled in a horrified whisper:

"Oh no."

---

2. Bureau Damage Control HQ (aka a conference room with interns)

The Damage Control Department looked less like crisis response and more like a start-up trying to sell NFT sneakers.

Charts everywhere. Coffee stains. A whiteboard that said in red marker:

> DISCO-BASED BIOHAZARD????

A woman in a beige power suit spoke.

"Raon. Shion. Thank you for coming. The Bureau… has a situation."

Shion calmly sat.

Raon sat and fell halfway off the chair.

The woman clicked a remote.

A slide appeared: "THERAPY ORB INCIDENT: DAY ONE — PROJECTIONS & FALLOUT"

Bullet points:

4,200 fragments

Self-replicating through vibration

Emotional sensitivity to bass

Dome insists they are 'Ascending.'

Raon raised her hand.

"What does any of that mean?"

A scientist spoke up:

"It means the shards form disco clusters when exposed to music."

Raon blinked slowly.

"…We live in a nightmare."

---

3. Enter: Maestro Dome (Sadly)

The door opened.

No knock. Just swagger.

Maestro Dome glided in wearing a creaseless white suit, sunglasses, and a meditation scarf that screamed I charge $600 per hour to breathe.

He bowed.

"My creations have evolved."

The entire room groaned.

"THEY ARE NOT CREATIONS," the woman in beige snapped.

"They are hazardous airborne shards of mirrored death."

Dome pressed his hands together.

"Fear not. They respond to harmonic unity."

Raon flinched.

"Dome… please don't tell me they sing."

"They sing," he confirmed.

Raon buried her face in her hoodie.

---

4. The Field Footage

The projector flickered to life.

CCTV: A gymnasium.

Basketball practice. The squeak of sneakers. A motivational playlist.

In the corner, a silver pile pulsed.

The beat dropped.

The pile… blossomed.

Thousands of mirror chips fluttered upward, forming a shimmering sunburst configuration.

Students screamed. Coach fainted. The swarm discoed violently.

One intern in the room whispered: "I'm pretty sure they asked me to dance."

Everyone stared at him.

Shion leaned toward Raon: "If those shards achieve sentience I'm quitting Earth."

---

5. The "Solution" Proposal

The beige woman clicked to the next slide.

> OPERATION: KISS THE SUN

ASSET: ONE KICK GIRL

Raon narrowed her eyes. "…Why is my name next to that?"

A scientist cleared his throat.

"We want you to… kick the primary disco nucleus."

Shion sat up sharply.

"No."

Raon blinked.

"Yes?"

Shion glared. "No."

Beige Suit leaned forward.

"We don't understand their psychology. But Dome believes their 'mother crystal' can be neutralized through physical percussion."

Dome nodded.

"I have meditated upon this.

Your kick is a message to the cosmos."

Raon pointed at him.

"You literally asked me to kick it last time!"

"Correct," he smiled.

"And look how beautifully life emerged."

---

6. Field Deployment

They brought Raon and Shion to a rooftop helipad.

The clouds pulsed faintly with reflected light — like someone had scattered glitter across the sky.

Far above them, a slow orbit of mirrored shards drifted like an artificial aurora.

Raon cracked her knuckles.

"Oh that looks punchable."

"No," Shion hissed.

"You only kick. You don't punch. The universe can't take both."

A Bureau agent handed Raon protective goggles.

Raon put them on.

The world became brighter.

Like a disco-themed apocalypse.

---

7. The Nucleus Reveals Itself

A shimmering vortex opened mid-air, folding light in spiral layers.

From within, a mass coalesced — not a sphere, not a cluster,

but a rotating disco star the size of a delivery truck.

Dome whispered reverently:

"Behold…

Thera-Sol.

Orb of Healing and Dance."

Raon stared.

Shion stared.

An intern whispered: "…we're all going to die."

---

8. Raon vs. Disco Star

Thera-Sol pulsed.

Boom-boom.

Boom-boom.

Raon felt the vibration in her ribs.

Her leg twitched.

"No," Shion muttered, grabbing her shoulder.

Raon twitched harder.

Shion's grip tightened — but something inside Raon burned like a thousand glowsticks.

The beat dropped.

Raon roared:

"THIS IS YOUR FAULT DOME!"

And she launched herself skyward.

A crescent arc of pure muscle and bad decisions.

Her heel struck the disco nucleus.

The world did not explode.

The world grooved.

A wave of rainbow light rippled across the skyline, every shard vibrating as one.

Synthwave blared from nowhere.

Raon landed, panting.

"…I either saved everyone or doomed humanity."

Dome clapped, serene.

"You have elevated us all."

---

9. Shion Puts Her Head In Her Hands

Shion walked over, kneeling beside Raon.

Her voice was soft. Too soft.

"Raon…

You just kicked the disco god into a higher dimension."

Raon blinked.

"…That's good… right?"

Shion didn't answer.

She simply whispered:

"I hate this planet."
