Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: The Captain's Decision

Luffy stared at Robin, his eyes—usually full of laughter—now held only the seriousness of a captain. But just a few seconds later, he made his decision.

He stepped forward, reached out, and snatched the Log Pose that symbolized both a deal and the unknown, gripping it tightly in his palm.

"If there's no doctor on that island," Luffy's voice was low but forceful, each word striking the ground like a hammer, "I will absolutely not let you off!"

Robin responded to Luffy's near-threat with nothing more than a meaningful, faint smile, as if she had anticipated this outcome all along. "Trust my intel, little captain. It's worth the price."

She turned gracefully. "Well then, I'll be taking my people."

Then Robin walked toward Miss Doublefinger, who wore a complicated expression, and the still-silent Mr.1.

Miss Doublefinger's gaze swept quickly over the Straw Hat crew members and the two giants, a mix of reluctance and relief in her eyes. But in the end, she said nothing, silently falling in step behind Robin.

Mr.1 remained silent, but before turning to leave, his eyes once again swept over Giyu, who was coughing weakly—the only swordsman who had ever wounded him. Then, his gaze fixed on Zoro.

"Three Sword Style guy…" Mr.1's voice sounded for the first time since waking up in the cake wreckage, directed at Zoro. "If you can really do what you just said…"

He paused slightly, then his arm transformed into a blade pointing at the ground.

"…I'll be waiting for you in Alabasta."

With that, he lingered no longer, turning away. His tall figure followed Robin as if those words—laced with acknowledgment and challenge—had never been spoken.

Zoro's lips curled into a wild grin, his hand resting on the hilt of Wado Ichimonji. He spoke as if to Mr.1, or perhaps to himself, "Heh… Just wait, Octopus Baldy. I won't let you down."

Just then, rustling came from the jungle. Usopp emerged slowly, panting slightly, holding his slingshot. "Hey! Everyone! Are you all right?! That Exploding Nose Booger Man has been taken care of by Captain Usopp!"

Sanji blew out a smoke ring, glanced at him, and said with a laugh, "Not bad, Usopp."

Hearing the praise, Usopp immediately puffed out his chest and rubbed his nose, not modest in the slightest. "Of course! I am a brave Sea Warrior! Taking down a Baroque Works agent is a piece of cake."

The Straw Hat crew remained vigilant, watching as Ms. All Sunday led the two Baroque Works members disappear deep into the dense jungle. Miss Goldenweek also slipped away quietly with Ms. Valentine.

Only when their presence had completely vanished did everyone on the scene finally relax their tense nerves.

However, this brief moment of peace was immediately broken by movement from the other side.

A low, pained groan sounded. The giant Ogre Dorry, lying on the ground, moved his helmeted head and slowly opened his eyes.

His blurred vision gradually focused, finally settling on the all-too-familiar figure beside him.

"Mmm… Brogy… you bastard…" His voice was hoarse, muttering unconsciously as he tried to prop himself up with his massive arm.

"Dorry! You're actually alive!!!"

Brogy's massive face instantly lit up with unbelievable joy as he lunged forward, his giant hands enthusiastically patting Dorry's shoulders.

"Hey! Take it easy, Brogy!" Dory grimaced in pain, pushing away his friend's overly enthusiastic arms. "Don't hug me! You're hurting my wounds! You idiot!"

"Wahahahahaha! I'm so happy! Praise the God of Elbaf!!!" Though Brogy released him, he was still as excited as a hundred-ton child.

This miraculous scene caught the attention of all the Straw Hat crew members.

Usopp's eyes widened with both curiosity and disbelief as he cautiously asked:

"Um... Uncle Dorry... are you okay? We clearly saw you fall down for so long earlier? How could you survive such a heavy attack..."

Upon hearing this, Dorry's massive hand touched the spot on his chest where Brogy's giant axe had struck him during their duel.

He looked at Brogy, then at himself, his tone shifting from initial confusion to a weathered sentiment that came from a century of experience.

"I'm afraid... it's because of our weapons, Brogy."

Brogy froze for a moment, as if remembering something. He grabbed the battle axe that had accompanied him for a hundred years, while Dorry picked up his greatsword.

Both giants looked at their respective weapons, then presented them to the Straw Hat crew for closer inspection.

Nami, Usopp, and Vivi all leaned in for a closer look, almost simultaneously expressing their amazement at the weapons before them.

"It's true! Both the axe blade and sword edge are..." Nami covered her mouth.

"They're completely dulled!" Usopp finished Nami's sentence, then reached out to touch the warriors' weapons, marveling, "They're not sharp at all!"

"That's right.Dorry's voice carried both nostalgia and another kind of sentiment about the passage of time. "A hundred years... even the strongest steel, even weapons from Elbaf, will become dull...Beside him, Brogy nodded vigorously, his face showing both excitement and a touch of emotion. He raised the nearly edge-less axe: "But neither of us stopped! Because this is the pride of Elbaf warriors! This is our commitment to our promise! Fight until we truly fall!"

Dorry's massive frame trembled slightly, as if choking back emotion. He picked up his greatsword again, looking at it as he said:

"...If we were still using weapons as sharp as they were a hundred years ago, I'm afraid one of us... or rather, both of us, would have died long ago."

The two giants looked at each other again, and this time, they both burst into hearty laughter simultaneously. Their laughter echoed across the empty battlefield, dispelling the last remnants of the gloom from their recent battle.

"This is truly a miracle!" Sanji exhaled smoke rings as he watched the two giants talking, finally understanding what had happened while he was away.

"So the weapons just happened to become dull... that's why Uncle Dorry survived..." Usopp murmured.

Luffy grinned, showing his trademark big smile: "But you two fought for a hundred years, and it's finally over! That's great, isn't it!"

Looking at the two giants and their weapons, Zoro sighed with admiration from the side: "A battle lasting a hundred years - that's some incredible willpower and stamina."

At this moment, Giyu was already leaning against a relatively clean large rock. His violent coughing had subsided slightly, but his complexion remained somewhat pale, and the sound of coughing could still be heard with each breath.

He moved his pale lips slightly and said, "I'm... fine... no need... cough... to change the course for me. Just proceed with the original plan to Alabasta... cough... as scheduled."
