Chapter 29 - Chapter 28: Emotional Damage

If you had met Kasumigaoka Utaha before she joined the chat group, a classic "hero saves beauty" moment would've sent her favorability skyrocketing to absurd levels.

Unfortunately for certain unlucky men, today's Utaha had already watched her memory copy inside the chat group.

She was no longer the slightly sharp-tongued yet secretly flustered girl from the original timeline.

Matured, composed, and fully aware of every trope in the universe, she wasn't falling for any "oops, I tripped into your arms" third-rate romance tricks.

Still, when Jaeger saved her, she regained her posture like a refined lady and offered a polite, graceful nod.

"Thank you for saving me, Aristocrat Jaeger~"

Jaeger gave her a single glance before casually turning away.

"No need to thank me. We're friends."

His words were calm and indifferent.

As if he'd just offered directions to a stranger and not literally saved her life.

Utaha blinked.

…That's it?

One glance, then back to ignoring me?

A tiny pulse of irritation flickered in her heart.

Is it because I'm weak? Not… Valkyrie-tier enough to catch his attention?

Her eyes drifted toward Luo Hao, who stood in the distance like a war goddess that stepped straight out of mythology.

Even Utaha had to admit:

Luo Hao radiated that overwhelming aura of

"I will beat you up and you will thank me for it."

The kind of teacher who'd make every student simultaneously fearful, devoted, and traumatized.

"Ugh…"

From a mountain of shattered debris, Uchiha Miyuki staggered out.

Clothes torn. Bruised everywhere.

Spirit unbroken.

Oddly… she didn't look angry.

Getting slapped around by Luo Hao?

That was within her expectations.

After all, Luo Hao wasn't just a God Slayer.

She was possibly worse than the Celestial Dragons.

She didn't ruin you because you were pretty.

She ruined you regardless of whether you were pretty.

Still, Miyuki had come mentally prepared.

If she wanted to get on Luo Hao's good side, being violently humbled was part of the admission fee.

You don't simp for a tyrant without paying the entry tax.

"Luo Hao-sama," Miyuki whined, rubbing her abused shoulder. "You didn't even warn me!"

Luo Hao lowered her palm with regal elegance.

"Enemies don't send invitations before they strike, little girl. You're far too lax."

Her tone was light, almost amused.

She had already measured Miyuki. Talented, yes. But nowhere near enough for Luo Hao to take seriously.

Potential, however… still potential.

And in this chaotic multiverse, potential was everything.

"Oh come oooon!"

The moment Miyuki spotted the red-haired girl limp in Jaeger's arms like a princess, her expression contorted.

"Your Highness Jaeger!! What are you doing to my future wife!?"

Jaeger didn't miss a single beat.

"Nothing~"

He adjusted his grip around Kushina's waist, holding her a bit closer than necessary. A devilish smile tugged at his lips.

"Though I must say… your future wife is surprisingly soft and warm."

Silence.

Luo Hao: "…"

Sakura Tohsaka: "…"

Yamamoto Mei: "…"

Utaha, the assassin of emotional dignity, landed the killing blow:

"On-site NTR. Truly tragic."

"DAAAMN YOUUUU!" Miyuki screamed, fists trembling, eyes watery. "Luo Hao-sama! Avenge my broken heart!"

Luo Hao glanced sideways and sighed. She was this close to pretending she didn't hear that.

Instead, she turned to Jaeger.

"Enough. Stay away."

Jaeger exhaled slowly, already anticipating the storm brewing.

He spoke in a low voice to Utaha:

"Take Kushina to that Uchiha lunatic. She can shield you both."

Utaha nodded without hesitation, she really didn't want any more trouble here.

"Understood."

She didn't need a long explanation.

A God Slayer versus a Celestial Dragon?

This wasn't going to be a fight.

This was going to be a mythological collision.

The kind of matchup that made insurance companies cry.

But just before turning away, Utaha cast one last glance at Jaeger, her voice surprisingly soft.

"…Be careful. If you die here, Luo Hao gets kicked out of the chat group too."

"…Thanks for the emotional support," Jaeger muttered.

Meanwhile, in the Group Chat—

Yamamoto Mei: "Huh? Has Kasumigaoka Utaha always been… tsundere?"

Sakura Tohsaka: "I don't think so…? But maybe?"

Jaeger (mentally): She's definitely tsundere. With poison damage. Perfect combination.

And then Miyuki, as dramatic as the sun itself:

Miyuki: "WHY DOES NO ONE CARE ABOUT ME?! I'M CUTE! I'M INJURED! I'M BLEEDING ATTRACTIVELY!!"

Her heart shattered as she watched Jaeger carry Kushina like a princess while Utaha escorted them.

Luo Hao's palm strike didn't hurt this much…

But hope still burned.

I just need to beat Jaeger to the punch!

Win over Utaha-senpai first!

Or—better idea...

Share her.

Ah yes, the noble dream of degenerates:

If you can't win the harem, join the harem.

With delusional passion filling her lungs, Miyuki stood tall again.

She activated multiple layers of defensive ninjutsu, added seals, enchantments, barriers—

a whole fortress of spiritual duct tape.

Utaha raised a brow.

"…Don't you think that's a bit excessive?"

Miyuki replied with grave seriousness:

"You call this excessive? We're about to witness a mythological throwdown!"

Luo Hao stepped forward, white Kimono swirling elegantly like a heroine descending from a painting.

"This is a battle of myths," she said calmly. "You wield divine relics. I am a God Slayer. Our clash is inevitable."

Jaeger tilted his head.

"Yeah, but… why are we fighting?"

Luo Hao paused—then laughed elegantly.

"You need a reason? I am a Demon King. I challenge the strong. All powerful beings are my prey."

"A combat maniac. Got it."

Of course, Jaeger didn't believe that for a second.

Luo Hao was definitely holding a small grudge over what happened when she first joined the chat group.

A lot of the others knew it too—

they just stayed quiet, because the heavy tension from earlier had already faded.

At this point, this wasn't hatred.

It was more like a mutual lesson between two prideful monsters.

The outcome would simply depend on one thing:

Who was stronger.

Jaeger cracked his knuckles casually.

"Before we start," he added with a smirk, "can I make a request?"

"Oh?" Luo Hao raised a brow. "Speak."

Jaeger grinned like a villain with too much charm and too little shame.

"If I win… I get to leave a mark on you."

Luo Hao blinked.

Then chuckled softly.

"So you want to brand me like a Celestial Dragon? Very… puppy-like."

She already knew plenty about World Nobles from the chat group.

Most would've been offended.

Luo Hao?

She found it amusing.

Because Jaeger wasn't trying to humiliate her.

He was just an overconfident brat wanting to leave his scent on things he liked.

And honestly, with how young he still was — in his past life and this one — she couldn't help but see him as someone still figuring himself out.

But her?

She was Luo Hao.

A woman who shattered gods long before Jaeger ever learned how to glare properly.

Losing wasn't something she even considered.

And even if, by some freak scenario, she did lose… so what?

A mark from Jaeger wouldn't shame her.

It wouldn't change who she was.

Even in pieces, Luo Hao would still be Luo Hao:

A woman who stands above earth and sky — unbothered, undefeated, and absolutely impossible to humiliate.

She gave a slow, smug smile.

"Very well. If you can win…

leave your mark, puppy."

And if not?

She would break him.

Gently.

Like someone amused by the idea of taming a wild beast.
