(Third Person POV)
It was a couple of days later, during the dead of the night, when the followers of R'hllor gathered in the Temple of the Lord of Light. It is located on an island near the junction of the Canal of Heroes with the Long Canal, connected by a single bridge.
This is where Lady Mira had led Cyrus to, gathering before the light of many lit braziers. Cyrus was a bit unsettled by the number of people that were gathered at a single location, dozens upon dozens that were huddled up near the braziers, all chanting and praying.
As he walked behind Mira, he noticed a couple of women at the far end of the room, all wearing red dresses similar to that of Mira's. Next to them, some men were gathered, all of them wearing red with some armor on them. Cyrus didn't know what to make of this, but he assumed they were the priests and priestess mentioned to him earlier.
"What a strange thing this is." Cyrus muttered
Mira heard him, "Is that so?" she said, "Is Our Lord nervous? All of these people are gathered here for you, Lord Cyrus. You just have to accept it."
"Yea, if you say so." Cyrus grumbled, "What bothers me is that there is the potential of trouble arriving."
"Hm...." she said, "The Targaryens? And in particular, Princess Saera."
"I don't like the way she looks at me." He said
"That is rather surprising." She said, "But there is nothing we can do about that. She is a young girl who yearns for a man."
"Hm...." Cyrus said, "When you put it that way....."
"Mira." A woman said as they reached the group of Priestesses, "You have arrived from Westeros. How did the meeting with the Iron Bank go?"
This woman was taller and had darker hair than Mira, her dress outlining her much curvier body, which Cyrus immediately noticed. Her eyes were also a darker brown, which reflected the light of the distant flames.
"It went well." Mira told her, "The funds are reaching Lord Salthos."
"That is good." The woman said with a smile, "Soon, Our Lord will be pleased by our actions."
"Yes." Mira said as she stepped to the side, "He would. Lord Cyrus, this is Alora. She is a fellow Red Priestess and the one who mentored me."
Cyrus gave her a nod, "Good to meet you."
Alora frowned slightly and walked forwards, "You...." She said as she eyed Cyrus up and down, "What a strange heat comes from you."
She walked around Cyrus, who simply stood there, a serious expression on his face. She inspected him with her gaze, looking up and down constantly and raising her hand over his body, as if feeling the warmth from his body.
"Well, there's a reason for that." Cyrus said
Alora stood in front of him, giving him a smile, "You're quite the specimen. A Westerosi with a potent Fire. And not just that, you're not bad looking." She said, "I imagine that Mira has charmed you already."
Cyrus narrowed his eyes, "Watch what you say."
Mira cleared her throat, "Lady Alora." She said, "Lord Cyrus is-"
"I heard from Thorvos." A deep and gruff voice said, "That this Cyrus claims to be the Lord of Light's Vessel."
Alora looked to the side and saw a tall man with black hair approaching them. He was wearing armor on him that had the sigil of R'hllor on him. He had his hand resting on the handle of his sword, staring at Cyrus with his fierce blue eyes.
"Oh?" Alora said, "Is this true, Mira?"
Mira nodded, "It is no claim." she said with a slight smile, "It is truth. Lord Cyrus is the name of Our Lord's mortal vessel, gracing this world among us, his followers."
"I find that hard to believe." the man said
"Thoros." Mira said, "Our Lord's will is absolute. I saw his flames, he is the one."
Thoros eyed Cyrus up and down, "And does he not speak?"
"I speak only to those worth speaking to." Cyrus said with a serious tone, giving Thoros a serious stare, "Are you worth speaking to?"
"Hm...." Thoros said
"For someone to claim to be the Lord of Light's Vessel. It is quite the bold claim." Alora said with a smile, "Forgive us for being skeptical..."
Cyrus rubbed his neck, "I understand." He said, "But let me make one thing clear. If any of you try something stupid with me, I will burn you. I am in no mood for any dumb shit."
"Burn us?" Thoros asked, a scowl forming on his face, "What could you possibly-"
"Draw your sword?" Cyrus said with a serious scowl, "Shove it into my chest if you wish to find out."
"My Lord." Mira said with a frown, "Please do no-"
"I didn't tell you to speak." Cyrus cut her off as he stared Thoros down, "You're a War-Priest? A warrior that wields the magic of R'hllor? Cut me with your sword."
Thoros drew his sword, "If you truly are Our Lord, you are giving me a test I will not shy from." He said as he stepped forward, "I will humor you."
"Thoros!" Alora said as Thoros stabbed at Cyrus
The blade went clean through, causing the others to step back in alarm.
Mira sighed, "My Lord...." she said as she looked at Cyrus, "Why do this?"
Flames sprouted from where the blade went through, Cyrus simply scowled at Thoros as he walked to the side, the blade cutting through and sprouting even more flames.
"W-What?!" Thoros said as he stepped back, his sword covered in flames
Cyrus gestured at his body, which was still set ablaze and forming back together, "Body of Fire." He said, "Is that enough?"
Thoros and Alora were staring at him as everyone present had gasped in shock, seeing how Cyrus's body was suddenly engulfed in flames. Everyone simply stared at how the flames flickered, having covered his body and only displayed his head.
"It's....." Alora said, the light of the flames reflected off her eyes, "Beautiful...."
Suddenly, everyone got on their knees, chanting "Lord of Light" constantly.
Mira smiled as she looked at this, "This was easier than I imagined." She said, "My Lord...."
Cyrus scowled, "Of course it was...." He said with an annoyed tone,
"Absolutely great."
