"Have you heard from Aurelius?" Mina asked hopefully.
"Not recently. Word from the palace is that he's been missing since the day after your wedding. He'd told everyone that you had asked him to be regent, and he would be sitting on the throne until you were recovered. Nobody questioned him because he was always your favorite brother. Eldon was pretty upset, and I guess there was some kind of argument behind closed doors after that.
"The next day, Aurelius never emerged from his rooms. When they went looking for him, he was gone. Nothing was missing. There was no struggle. Nobody seems to know what happened. There's a reward out for you both." Indira certainly did know a lot.
"I knew about the reward for me. I was nearly abducted because of it. I'm surprised that Eldon is actually looking for Aurelius." Mina mused.
"I'm surprised someone found you all the way in Chrysanthos. That's bad luck."
"Barrett," Egon clarified. "He was with ambassadors from Ferron. I brought her to one of the Prince's parties."
"Well, that was clumsy. Barrett was always more concerned with gold than anything else. How did he fare?" She asked like it was a game. It rubbed Mina the wrong way. He had been Egon's friend.
"He nearly killed her," Egon said sadly.
"So not well then. I'm so sorry, Egon." She reached forward and rubbed his arm. Mina didn't like that either.
"It was necessary." She suspected he said those words to himself a lot.
"That doesn't mean it was easy," Mina said gently. He looked down at her and smiled.
"Easier than it should have been." He rubbed her back. "I'd do anything to keep you safe."
"You are in deep, my friend." Indira laughed. Then she picked a bell up off her end table and rang it. "Alright, you can stay."
"Thank you," Egon bowed his head to her as a servant entered the room.
"We need a room prepared. We're going to have guests for the foreseeable future." She told the servant who curtsied and left the room. "At least I assume you only need one room."
"That's enough." Egon agreed.
"Good. Now, we have to talk about conditions. Mina can't be traipsing around the brothel or out in public. Someone might recognize her, like I already have. She'll have to wear a disguise if she must go out. We'll have to cover her hair and face with scarves or something. I'll have some things bought for her. Evander, you're less likely to be recognized, but you should still be cautious. I only knew who you were because you were with her. They don't have any portraits of you floating around anywhere." She stood up and smoothed out her robes. "Now, I must get back to work. You three make yourselves comfortable. Reina will be back for you when your room is ready."
"Thank you, Indira," Egon said, standing with her. "I owe you."
"You don't. She does." She said and walked off.
"I hope I haven't gotten myself into too much debt." Mina laughed after Indira was out of earshot.
"I have doubts that she will take advantage." Egon sat back down next to her. "She's really a good woman."
"Egon, be honest with me?" Mina asked gently.
"Always," Egon promised.
"Are you in love with her?" She felt silly even saying it, but she could tell there was a strong bond between them.
"I was once, but not in a long time. She was and always will be decidedly unavailable." He answered. Not quite the answer she wanted, but it was an honest one, so she accepted it. "Are you jealous, my love?"
"A little. She's just so beautiful, and she obviously knows more than I do, and it's plain to see that you're attracted to one another. I just…" He put his fingers to her lips.
"There's nothing to be jealous of. You're the only woman for me now," he insisted. "You and Van are everything. I don't want or need anything or anyone else."
It wasn't long before Reina reemerged to direct them to their room. She led them through the house and up the stairs to a beautifully decorated room that was fit for royalty. Mina was impressed with the paintings and tapestries that decorated the walls and even more impressed with the soft bed draped in the finest bed curtains. It was nearly as good as being home.
"We're going to make good use of this bed," she joked as she tested it.
"Let's start now. It'll be a while before anyone comes to bother us." Egon threw himself onto the bed with her.
"That seems like a reasonable use of our time," Evander crawled up Egon's body and started kissing him.
"Maybe I'll just watch," she offered.
"I don't think so," Egon grabbed the collar of her dress and pulled her in for a kiss.
Evander pulled at the tie on her dress and helped to undress her. Both men ran their rough hands over her delicate skin as they shed her layers. She quickly found herself on her back beneath both of them. Evander kissed her next, sweetly and delicately. Egon trailed kisses down to her stomach, where he paused to look up at them. Evander reached down and grabbed Egon by the hair to push him down the rest of the way. She felt his tongue dip into her folds. He teased around until the tip of his tongue found her sweet spot.
Evander cupped her breast and trailed kisses down her neck and collarbone until he pulled her nipple into his mouth. She moaned, which only encouraged them. Egon's tongue flicked faster, and Van moved on to her other breast, still cupping and teasing the first. She wasn't going to last long. She could already feel that familiar pleasure pain building in her core.
Her hips rocked against Egon's mouth of their own accord, so much so that he had to pin her down on the bed, just to keep her still. She moaned in frustration and tried to buck against his hands, but it was no use. He was determined to push her over the edge in record time. Her legs began to shake with every movement of his tongue. She cried out as the pleasure exploded through her body. She felt like she was buzzing with the pleasure of it, and they were going to drag it out as long as they could. Wave after wave, each one better than the last, until they began to die down and the two men abandoned their ministrations for a nice cuddle.
As if on time, there was a knock at the door. Egon huffed, clearly annoyed by the interruption, but helped her on with her dress nonetheless. When he opened the door, a blushing Reina entered carrying a multitude of scarves and veils for Mina.
"Thank you, Reina," Mina said gently. Reina nodded and dipped in a small curtsy before seeing herself out. After a moment of silence, all three of them burst out laughing.
