By the time Lin Wan arrived at Xitu Lanya Restaurant, Chen Jin had already taken off his coat and was feeding his son with a spoon. Little Bao was being very well-behaved, eating a bite every time Chen Jin fed him, his big eyes fixed on his father's face. Lin Wan stared absentmindedly for a while before she remembered to ask, "Have you eaten?"
Chen Jin shook his head. She didn't ask further and directly went to the kitchen to get a set of chopsticks. It wasn't the first time he had eaten here. Seeing that Chen Jin was focused on feeding their son, she let Little Bao get down and eat by himself. Little Bao reluctantly clung to his father, poked a piece of rib with his small fork, and offered it to Chen Jin. "Daddy, I'll feed you too."
Chen Jin opened his mouth and took the bite, patting his son's head, mumbling, "Good boy, so filial."
The atmosphere lightened immediately. Outside, the night had fully fallen, and the three of them sat around under the bright lights, looking just like any other family of three in the city.
The little one had missed his father so much, after dinner, he was still clinging to him like a little sloth. When Chen Jin wanted to give him a gift, he sweetly said, "Daddy is the best gift."
As bedtime approached, Little Bao refused to let go of his father, insisting on sleeping with him. Seeing the tired look on Chen Jin's face, Lin Wan couldn't bring herself to send him back to the hotel and said she would sleep on the sofa. After taking a shower, Chen Jin took his pajamas from his suitcase and changed, sitting on the bed to tell their son a story.
Lin Wan sat in the living room watching a TV show, the volume low. The bedroom door was slightly ajar, and Chen Jin's deep voice drifted out. It took her quite a while to focus on the storyline.
She didn't know how much time passed before Chen Jin came out and sat beside her. The scent of herbal body wash mixed with his natural scent enveloped her, causing her nostrils to flare involuntarily.
"Is it good?" he asked.
"It's okay." Lin Wan glanced at him. "Aren't you tired? Why aren't you sleeping?"
"I'm not used to sleeping so early."
Lin Wan was watching a Korean drama. She handed him the remote control, "Why don't you change the channel?"
Chen Jin took it and placed it on the coffee table, smiling. "No need. I've watched plenty over the years. It's not bad for passing time, probably more than ten series."
Lin Wan felt a twinge in her heart. For someone with a strong sense of time, to watch soap operas just to kill time, it must be a situation full of helplessness and bitterness... She had long stopped paying attention to what was on the TV, lost in her own thoughts. After a long time, it seemed she heard a soft call: "Wanwan."
She turned her head and met his direct gaze, his eyes twinkling with small sparks. The atmosphere between them shifted completely—heavy, a bit hot. She wasn't sure when they had gotten so close, but his thigh was pressing against hers, and through the fabric, she could feel his body heat, like an iron burning her.
Unsurprisingly, though, she saw his face lean in. Her heart raced, her mind going into overdrive—reject or accept? Before she could even form an answer, her vision darkened as she felt his lips, so soft. It felt a little unfamiliar. He gently touched, then pulled away, then came back, like a little animal sniffing and tasting. It was teasing, with a hint of mischief, as he observed her reaction or waited for her to reciprocate.
After several attempts, when he finally deepened the kiss, Lin Wan suddenly pulled back, panting slightly, and asked, "Why are you interested in tofu dregs?"
Chen Jin laughed, then raised his hand to pinch her chin, saying, "Still holding a grudge, huh? You're so petty. I was just joking."
Lin Wan pouted. "Who jokes like that? That's clearly an insult." Seeing him lean in again, she blurted out without thinking, "I called you this morning."
Chen Jin smiled again. "Finally asking."
Then, he stopped smiling and explained, "I had an early golf date, and I left my phone in the lounge. The staff answered it—she's new and doesn't know the rules yet. I've already criticized her."
Lin Wan fell silent and secretly let out a sigh of relief.
Seeing her not speak, Chen Jin watched her for two seconds before casually saying, "Let me tell you a joke."
Naturally, he pulled her into his arms, and they leaned against the sofa together. He began telling the joke, trying to sound serious: "There was a bachelor, nearly fifty, who only got married later in life. His wife was young and beautiful. People around them were both envious and puzzled. 'What kind of man could marry such a good woman?' they wondered. The next morning, they saw the bride holding the wall, shouting one sentence..." He paused at a crucial moment and asked, "Can you guess what she said?"
"I wouldn't know," Lin Wan mumbled, her body still tense under his embrace.
"She said," he mimicked a high-pitched female voice, "'Liar, he said he had thirty years of savings. I thought it was money!"
Lin Wan struggled away, looking disgusted. "How inappropriate."
Chen Jin, however, took the joke even further, his mouth coming closer and teasing, "Don't turn your nose up at me. I'm much poorer than him—I only have four years of savings."
Lin Wan's face heated up, and in embarrassment, she nudged him with her elbow. He sharply inhaled and recoiled, but she noticed the slight frown on his face. "Are you okay?" she asked, concerned.
Chen Jin grabbed her hand and placed it on his chest, his voice barely audible as he said, "Quick, give me a rub."
Feeling that the distance wasn't enough, he slid her hand under his shirt. Lin Wan's fingers brushed against his warm, firm chest, and she felt a tremor run through her. As she tried to pull her hand away, he held it tighter, pressing her fingers against his well-toned muscles. Beneath them, his heart was beating strongly, each pulse thudding against her hand.
He lowered his voice, asking, "Can you feel it?"
She was confused. "What?"
"It's beating for you."
His voice had become huskier, adding a seductive undertone. Lin Wan felt her own heartbeat quicken, and the dam she had built up in her heart seemed to crack open slightly...
"Now, can we continue?" Chen Jin's voice grew even more hoarse.
Lin Wan couldn't even hear her own voice. Her mind was in turmoil, but all she could feel were his kisses, one after another. Her forehead, her eyebrows, her eyes, her nose—each one, like a stamp, gentle and warm. She was moved by his tender affection. Just as his kiss was about to land on her lips, she called out, "Wait."
Chen Jin stopped, a look of confusion on his face, his eyes full of deep, untouchable tenderness. She lifted her hand and cupped his face. He seemed to stiffen for a moment before relaxing, a smile spreading across his lips.
Her soft fingers traced the sharp lines of his face, moving from his forehead down to his chin, then up the other side. When her fingers reached his eyes, he obediently closed them, his long lashes fluttering under her touch. She took a deep breath, then cupped his face with both hands, leaning forward and placing a soft kiss on his lips.
His body tensed suddenly, and his large hands immediately wrapped around her slender waist. The action ignited a long-suppressed desire in him, and his breathing grew heavy. As his mouth followed hers, he pulled her into his arms, tightening his grip and making it hard for her to breathe. The situation shifted quickly from a romantic scene to something more intense. Lin Wan was speechless—this hungry wolf was truly unstoppable.
Pressed against him, she could feel his response—hard, hot, and dangerous against her. Her face heated up even more, and she hurriedly said, "Alright, alright, stop messing around."
Chen Jin wasn't about to listen, muttering, "It's too late."
To emphasize the word "late," he deliberately bit her tongue. His hand at her waist had already moved inside, and since she hadn't worn any underwear after her shower, he easily cupped her softness and squeezed it hard.
Lin Wan gasped in surprise, and thinking of their son just a wall away, she reached up to grab his hand from her chest, whispering, "No."
Chen Jin raised his head, looking at her with amusement, then immediately sealed her mouth with his, swallowing the words "Little Bao is..." before they could even leave her lips. At that moment, nothing—nothing at all—could stop him.
A heated kiss made Lin Wan slowly lose her strength, her body turning weak as if most of her energy had been drained. She collapsed onto the sofa, almost like a limp ragdoll. Suddenly, she felt a chill in her chest, and her blurry vision slowly focused. She saw that Chen Jin's hand was buried inside her pajamas, as though he was holding something. Cold liquid leaked out between his fingers.
She opened her mouth, but no sound came out. She watched him quickly pull out his hand, wet and glistening, before swiftly undoing the buttons of her pajamas. As her skin gradually exposed to him, Chen Jin's eyes darkened, and his Adam's apple bobbed slightly as he lowered his head to kiss her again. Lin Wan weakly turned her face away, gazing at the dim shapes on the TV screen.
The cool, wet sensation quickly spread, as though it had soaked into every pore of her body, making her shiver all over. Maybe what really made her tremble was the heat of his insistent lips and tongue. When the tip of his tongue touched her, her body jerked violently, causing her to make a small, almost invisible movement on the sofa.
His wet tongue continued to tease her mercilessly, making low, muffled moans escape her lips. The sound broke through her teeth, but was quickly drowned out by the noise from the TV. Her head fell back, and her hands grabbed at him randomly, her nails digging into him, her feet arching, every nerve in her body stretched to its limit.
But that wasn't the worst of it. The bastard suddenly learned how to savor every little moment, wasting no time at all. Her back pressed against the armrest of the sofa, her body slanted, and as his tongue crushed the watermelon against her skin, the juice flowed rapidly down her smooth body. He eagerly followed it, lingering just above her belly button, playfully circling with his tongue...
Lin Wan's abdomen tightened suddenly, and her breathing froze at that moment. The next second, he tugged at the waistband of her pajama pants with his teeth. Realizing his intent, her mind exploded. Instinctively, she reached to grab his hair to stop him, but his hair was too short to hold onto. His scorching breath sprayed against her soft skin, and she almost cried out in desperation. Trembling, she cried out in a pleading tone.
She was startled by the broken sound of her own voice, and Chen Jin raised his head, his eyes filled with lust, his breath uneven. "Don't want it?"
Lin Wan bit her lower lip, shaking her head.
His posture didn't change, but his voice became more commanding. "Beg me."
She tried to sit up, but he pressed her waist down with his hand, making her unable to move. He quietly met her gaze, and for a moment, his eyes held an intense, piercing sharpness. She suddenly felt a bit afraid. It made her realize that a person's ability to intimidate never disappears, no matter the circumstances—it only lies dormant, waiting.
She hesitated, her lips trembling. Finally, she whispered, "Chen Jin."
He remained unmoving. She called again, "Chen Jin."
"Chen Jin, Chen Jin, Chen Jin..."
Each time she said his name, his body inched closer, and perhaps this action pleased him. His expression softened, his eyes filled with a smile. Then, he nudged her with his nose and sighed, "I like it when you say my name."
She shakily stretched her arm around his neck. He freed one of his hands and picked the largest grape from the fruit platter, carefully peeling it and offering it to her slightly open mouth. She took it and began chewing, but before she could swallow, his tongue invaded her mouth, roughly stirring it. He sucked on the grape seed, then swallowed it.
She stared at the movement of his Adam's apple, a moment of shock crossing her mind. Then he asked, sounding smug, "Impressive, right?"
"There's something even more impressive," he said, placing her back on the bed and getting up.
With a light sound, the room fell dark.
