Chapter 422 - Intelligence

"I understand." Elias' voice stabilized, carrying the organized quality characteristic of a technical report. "The information I have can be divided into three main categories: structural layout, defense system, and… the highest threat protocol."

He walked to the table, but instead of immediately unfolding the drawings, he used his finger to trace the outline on the dusty surface.

"In terms of structural layout, I have a detailed understanding of the spatial structure of the core area where the 'ancestral core' is located, as well as the main connecting passages and ventilation system."

This includes the location of entrances and exits at each level, the types of gates, and some narrow maintenance passages. Elias paused briefly, seemingly recalling, "This information mainly comes from records I made when I was still able to participate in core maintenance work."

Most of the basic structure should remain unchanged, but I'm not sure if any adjustments have been made recently.

He continued, his tone becoming more cautious: "In terms of the defense system, this includes the regular patrol routes of the core guard, the distribution of fixed sentry posts, the identity verification levels of each major checkpoint, the coverage of surveillance cameras, and a few blind spots caused by aging equipment and structural obstructions."

It also includes the locations of several key defensive turrets connecting to the core energy source and the specific distribution of their energy supply nodes.

"This information," he added, "comes partly from my daily observations and partly from conversations with people in other positions."

Information such as patrol routes and sentry post locations is usually adjusted by the family regularly.

The information I'm documenting is from over a year ago, and things may have changed since then.

However, the information about the energy nodes came from the energy matrix blueprints I had at the time, and these basic structures shouldn't be easily altered.

He paused for a moment, looked up at Osiris to make sure the other was focused on receiving the information.

"Finally, there is the 'Final Oath' agreement." Elias' voice lowered unconsciously, his Adam's apple bobbing slightly, carrying a deep-seated awe and fear. "This is the family's top secret passed down through generations, and only the patriarch and the guardian elders know the complete details."

He paused for a moment, seemingly considering his words, his eyes unconsciously glancing towards the door to check if the soundproofing was adequate.

"All I know is that when an external enemy invasion becomes unstoppable and the core is about to fall, the patriarch has the right to activate this protocol. Once it is executed…" He took a deep breath, "it will overload the energy connection nodes between the core and all major defense systems, triggering… an uncontrollable chain reaction."

Elias' fingertips unconsciously traced the trajectory of the explosion's spread on the table: "This is not just to destroy the core itself, but also to ensure that any enemy who attempts to seize it will ultimately only end up with a radiation-filled ruin."

It is said that its power is enough to wipe the entire town of Ronker off the map.

His voice grew softer and softer, as if afraid of being heard by some unseen being: "I only have some scattered speculations about the specific triggering mechanism and energy path."

These speculations come from the incomplete records my father left behind and the few words he uttered before his death.

The reliability of this information... I cannot fully guarantee.

He raised his head, his eyes filled with earnestness and unease: "But what I can confirm is that this agreement does exist, and its threat level is absolutely the highest level."

My father once saw the device that was preparing to activate the protocol; it was during a core overload incident when he was forced into an area that was normally strictly off-limits.

Osiris listened quietly, while the core process synchronized the classification and preliminary risk assessment of Elias' overview.

The information coverage was as expected, especially the mention of the "final pledge" agreement. Although the details were vague, its very existence is a crucial strategic variable.

"The overview is clear. The information has preliminary reference value for action." Osiris made the judgment. "Now, show the details you have, prioritizing marking the precise location of STC, guard deployment, weaknesses in the monitoring system, and energy relay nodes."

Elias no longer hesitated; he quickly retrieved the carefully preserved blueprints and data boards from their hiding place.

He spread out the largest hand-drawn structural diagram on the table, clearly marking the path leading to the core area deep within the bow.

"Here," he pointed to the very center of the drawing, an area heavily guarded by multiple concentric circles and crossfire symbols, "is the exact location of the 'Ancestral Core,' which we call the Core Temple."

It is located at the axial end of the bow wreckage, approximately fifty meters underground.

He then traced the map with his pen: "Permanent guard force: four at the entrance to the core temple, and two in the internal control room."

All of them were core guard members, well-equipped.

The changing of the guard takes place on the hour of the hour and lasts for three minutes, during which time the number of guards at the entrance is reduced to two.

The surveillance system covers all main passages and entrances, with virtually no blind spots.

He drew a small circle near a fork in the road leading to a backup ventilation duct. "But here, the three monitoring probes in this area have intermittent signals due to aging wiring and interference from condensate leakage above, resulting in periodic brief monitoring failures, each lasting about fifteen to twenty seconds."

This is the most obvious known 'blind spot,' but it is extremely unstable.

Then, his pen moved to several specific locations surrounding the core temple, which were connected to the core area and several large defensive turrets marked on the drawing by thick energy pipeline symbols.

"Most importantly, these energy relay nodes are crucial." Elias' tone was unusually serious. "They are not only key to distributing energy from the energy matrix to each turret, but more importantly, they are directly connected to the stable output circuit of the 'Ancestral Core'."

If these nodes are overloaded or damaged, not only will the corresponding turrets fail, but it could also directly trigger core energy feedback, and even... potentially trigger the conditions for the 'Final Oath' protocol.

He raised his head and looked at Osiris' unwavering optical lens, saying word by word: "The family leader, Patriarch Van Sauer III, and the Guardian Elders hold the final command to directly detonate these nodes, overload the core, and all major defense systems in an emergency, to perish together with the invaders."

This is the last resort to ensure that the core secrets never leak out and to preserve the family's dignity in its final moments.

Osiris' mechanical body leaned slightly forward, and more data streams flashed rapidly past the edge of the optical lens.

The details provided by Elias, especially the direct link between the energy relay node and the "Final Oath" protocol, as well as that unstable monitoring blind spot, provided a crucial tactical foothold for infiltration and sabotage operations, while also marking the most dangerous red lines.

"All data has been recorded." Osiris' synthesized voice broke the brief silence. "The coordinates of the energy relay nodes, parameters of the monitoring blind spots, and the guard rotation sequence will be included in the highest priority threat assessment along with the 'Final Oath' protocol."

Your information significantly improved the task success probability model.

Elias watched as Osiris finished scanning the last blueprint, knowing that he had given everything he could.

His value is now inextricably linked to these cold lines and data.

"What's next?" he asked, his voice carrying a barely perceptible weariness and an anticipation of a new destiny.

"Remain silent, maintain normalcy," Osiris instructed, turning towards the door. "I will analyze the data and formulate a specific plan. The next contact will bring preliminary treatment medication and operational instructions."

The alloy partition opened and closed silently once again, engulfing Osiris' massive figure.

Elias stood alone at the table, gazing at the blueprints that held the fate of his family and his own life, and slowly exhaled a breath of stale air. He

There was no turning back. Now, he could only wait, wait for the next instruction from the Mechanicus that would decide everything.
