His mind stirred awake to the distant sound of the bubbling city beneath him. His thoughts were foggy and he felt strange. Almost as if his entire body was lighter somehow.
He lay there with dead eyes as the events of yesterday finally came back to him with a sharp migraine. He jolted up instantly, taking a seat at the edge of the bed, holding his head as he tried remembering the events of yesterday.
'She's gone?...' he thought, 'No... ugh, Dammit I got knocked out... But did they get her? Is she alright?... crap my brain feels weird.'
Kael sat there in deep thought as everything finally cleared up to him. He released his grip on his head, staring out through his windows and into the city with a blank expression as he remembered the last thing he saw before going unconscious.
"A dark cloak..." he whispered. "Someone else was there... . maybe he saved her? Or he could be someone else who wanted her dead?!" He couldn't quite wrap his head around the whole but he was sure of one thing at least, the girl was certainly not normal.
"So then since I'm in my room... I take it the rescuer rescued me?... Umm not even gonna ask how he knew this was mine."
He fell back on the bed, staring the the old worn out ceiling, a sudden thought running through his head.
'Why did I risk my life back there?'
Sure he wanted to be a hero, but that didn't mean he wanted to die, no... He wanted to live that's why he even wanted to get stronger.
But as he looked deeper, searching for what would cause such impulse, he found it. The will to protect... That's what drove him to fight. As absurd a it sounded it really was the only thing he could think of.
"Ok... Enough of that." he mummured. "Status open."

Power Slash, a skill he gained immediately after reaching level 3 in his basic Swordsmanship. The thought of gaining new skills from levelling older ones deeply excited him as he browsed it's details.
He wanted to try it out then and there, but he held himself back as it could prove dangerous.
'Wait...'

"I've... got only one more level up to out my class.. nice... But hold up... I guess I did receive experience from the death of that giant guy huh... Sweet"
With that he hopped out of bed and stared at his reflection in the mirror. His clothes were ripped in random places but it was by all means still serving it's purpose when compared to the rags he used to wear.
Ever since he'd been living in Fairhaven he only bought clothes from the boutique he wandered into the other day. At the moment he didn't need a new pair but he kept it at the back of his mind to get more clothes when he got the chance.
He ran a hand along his soft white hair as he considered getting a new style, at least until something caught his eye. There on the middle finger of his right hand, plain golden ring glinted in the soft morning light, drawing his attention instantly.
He pulled it from his hand and examined it closely. At first glance it looked like any other golden ring, but when he activated his insight skill, what he saw told a completely different story.
----------
Name: Ring of ??? [???]
Description: A spacial ring made specifically for ???
Size: ???
----------
"The hell?..."
At this point he didn't know what to say. This was clearly made for someone special and what's more it was a spacial ring.
Things like spacial to bags existed, bags that were imbued with enchantments that made the space within them larger than normal. Although spacial bags were expensive, spacial rings were even more expensive as they offered easy mobility and a larger space.
If anyone saw Kael walking around with a ring like this, he was sure it would attract eyes. Not that it mattered though, without a skill like his' you probably won't even know what it could do at a glance.
"Hmm.."
He continued examining the ring as he noticed some inscriptions written on it. They were faint but easy to read. They read the words. "Remember me" on its surface.
His thoughts slowly drifted to the purple haired girl. He was sure she was the one that gave this to him. He never even asked for her name, not that he cut a chance but he had a faint feeling they'd cross paths again.
'Remember me... Yeah, I'll do that ' he thought as he stared at the mysterious ring with excited sparkling eyes.
His gaze drifted over to the bustling city outside his window. He'd already gotten used to this scenery by now. It was nice. The visual reminded him of a home that was burnt to the ground, a home he could never reclaim.
"I guess it really is about time I left Fairhaven..."
The wind ruffled his hair as he whispered, making a mental note to inform the party of his thoughts as he went to prepare for the busy day ahead, completely oblivious to the dangers lurking in the decrepit corners of this small peaceful town of Fairhaven.
