Tony sat in the black limousine, his eyes closed, looking somewhat tired.
Little Chili helped him lie down and started massaging him with her hands.
Pepper's eyes held a hint of heartache, but mostly joy.
She and Tony both liked each other, but neither of them showed it.
Pepper was worried that if she voluntarily became a white person because of her identity, she would be mistaken for someone who coveted Tony's power and money.
As for why Tony didn't take the initiative... well, let's not even talk about his playboy personality.
At this moment, Tony looked at himself with many scars and his face had become much thinner.
But Pepper was already content that the latter was able to return to his side safely.
At that moment, Tony suddenly spoke up:
"Pepper, what did Director Obadiah do during the days I was kidnapped?"
Obadiah is the bald director at Stark Industries, a man of great power and influence.
In the entire Stark Organization, besides Tony Stark, who is the largest owner, the second most powerful person is Obadiah.
The latter not only co-managed Stark Industries with Tony for many years, but the two were also business partners before Howard Stark's death.
By this calculation, Obadiah is actually a veteran of two regimes.
This bald director held an extremely high position and had a very close relationship with Tony. If it weren't for the Ten Rings gang, which aroused Tony's suspicion, he would have been a prime candidate.
Therefore, Tony would never doubt Obadiah.
Little Chili was a little confused, but she still told everything she knew.
From Pepper's words, we know that Obadiah did nothing out of line during Tony's absence; everything went smoothly and there was no misconduct.
"Are you behaving so honestly?"
Tony's eyes held a hint of gloom.
"So, I hope you can remain this calm after I announce Stark Industries' transformation at the press conference!"
Tony Stark didn't want to suspect Obadiah unless absolutely necessary.
However, after Tony's rigorous screening, the latter was the most suspicious.
If the latter can clear their name, that would be ideal; if not…
Tony's expression turned somewhat grim:
"I thought I would never have any contact with those people in my life, but now I realize I was too naive when I said that!"
...
...
Are you angry?
Clark gently flicked Jean's little nose and asked with a smile.
Jean glanced at the departing Stark caravan, her face expressionless:
"He's a playboy and a megalomaniac—if you spend too much time with him, he'll corrupt you!"
Clark couldn't help but chuckle:
"Corrupt me? With him? Jean, you overestimate Tony!"
"Moreover, the hardships he has endured during this period will change Tony's personality; he is no longer the Tony Stark he once was."
"Alright, let's not talk about this anymore. I'll take you to meet our school's new teacher. He should be waking up soon."
Clark changed the subject:
"Tony Stark survived thanks in large part to his mentor, Ethan."
"He risked his life to help Tony during his escape, and was seriously injured himself, but treating him should be easy in our academy."
Jean nodded:
"After receiving your message, I sent Aesop over; her abilities are perfectly suited to handle this situation."
Clark thought for a moment and quickly locked onto his target:
"Aesop? Is she that little girl with natural abilities? Her abilities are outwardly manifested as communicating with plants and trees, but her true ability is actually controlling the forces of nature."
Clark seemed thoughtful:
"This ability is very powerful, but it's probably impossible to expect that anxious little girl to develop its full potential."
Clark had also heard a little about Aeson's tendency to worry excessively.
Aside from feeling a chill run down his spine, he couldn't correct it.
After all, he's not a psychologist.
There are no psychologists at St. Kent College, as such professionals are rare, and counselors are even rarer.
Those capable psychologists dare not counsel mutant students.
Mutants are far more dangerous than ordinary people. If you try to counsel a mutant, the latter might have a nervous breakdown, which would be very dangerous.
Therefore, St. Kent College does not have a psychologist, and the position is vacant.
Previously, the former principal would work part-time, but now...
Clark and Jean fell silent.
Clark turned his head and glanced across the street, seemingly oblivious to what was happening, without revealing anything.
Turning around, he and Jean walked towards the small hospital on campus.
After the two left, Agent Hill emerged from the restaurant across the street, looking thoughtful.
...
"Brother Clark!"
Before even entering the door, Aesop had already sensed Clark's arrival and hopped open the door to welcome him inside.
Clark looked at the potted plant around the corner and realized that it was Aesop's ability at work that had discovered him.
He smiled and led Jean, whose expression wasn't very good, inside.
"Aesop, I've reminded you countless times, do you even know to call the principal?!"
Aesop tossed his green hair, adopting a "I won't listen, I won't listen" attitude.
Seeing the latter's shameless behavior, Jean was furious, but as the college assistant, she had to remain calm and not argue with a student in public.
Hmph, just you wait!
You'll be graduating soon!
Aesop came closer and tugged at Clark's little hand:
"Brother Clark, you haven't spoken to me properly these past few days, nor have you taught our class. I, and all my classmates, miss you so much."
Clark gently ruffled Aesop's green hair and said softly:
"It's all for the sake of you students. I specially went to find a teacher for you."
As Clark spoke, his gaze shifted to the frail figure on the hospital bed.
On the way back, Clark had already given Ethan some initial treatment for his wounds and channeled some life force into him.
Aesop's natural powers also have healing effects, and with the addition of modern medical technology, treating Ethan should not be a problem.
The only remaining trouble is the trivial matters of subsequent recovery.
Ethan was half-lying on the bed, calmly looking at Clark.
After he regained consciousness, he learned a lot from Aesop and others, and he also learned that he had been saved by Clark.
I am grateful, of course, but being a mentor...
Ethan shook his head apologetically:
"Principal Clark, I want to go back to my hometown now. I feel guilty for not being able to repay your kindness to me."
Clark raised an eyebrow:
"I've already checked the records, Mr. Ethan. Your family members have died in the rebellion."
Ethan's eyes were filled with sorrow:
"I know… but there are still those people from my hometown…"
Clark provided a solution:
"I will inform Tony and have the Stark Corporation allocate funds to rebuild Mr. Ethan's hometown."
"As for going back... going back will only make you more sad, so Mr. Ethan, stay here. There are many children in this school waiting for your guidance."
Ethan remained silent for a long time before finally giving a barely perceptible nod.
That's considered an agreement.
