Chapter 50 - Chapter 46

The morning sun cast long shadows over the Spiritual Palace's training grounds. Students had already gathered, the air thick with anticipation. Today, Renata Nasir would face her first formal challenge, designed to test her skill, intelligence, and composure.

Renata walked steadily, boots clicking against polished stone. The cloth over her eyes concealed the faint golden glow that appeared when she cultivated, maintaining the illusion of a three-vein student. Inside, her Divine Body pulsed quietly, every tendon, bone, and organ honed through void-world and VR-world training.

From the sidelines, Elizabeth Wang and Wang Hao observed intently. Elizabeth leaned forward, whispering, "She's precise… but can a three-vein student really move like that?"

Wang Hao's gaze was steady. "There's more to her than they see. I'll keep an eye on her—it could be useful later."

Nearby, Lin Fei crossed her arms, skepticism etched across her face. "I don't trust appearances. She's fast, yes—but there's something hidden."

Fei Yi said nothing, his sharp eyes noting subtle energy fluctuations around Renata—enough to make him quietly curious.

The arena platform was already occupied by a tall, well-built student radiating confidence and cultivation energy.

"Renata Nasir," the instructor called. "Your opponent is Kael Riven. Approach and prepare."

Renata stepped forward, posture calm, movements fluid. Kael Riven's piercing eyes studied her. "I've heard of you," he said smoothly, edge of challenge in his tone. "They say you're skilled… but we'll see if that's true."

Renata inclined her head. "I will do my best."

The instructors signaled the start. Kael lunged with precise strikes designed to test timing, reflexes, and adaptability. Renata flowed with controlled grace, subtly enhanced by her Divine Body and Yin layers, all while maintaining her mortal façade. Her golden eyes flickered beneath the cloth—a secret no one noticed.

From the sidelines, Elizabeth whispered, "Her movements… almost beyond a three-vein student."

Wang Hao nodded quietly. "Yes, but controlled. The instructors will have noticed."

Lin Fei's brow furrowed. "She's predicting him, but I don't see cultivation beyond mortal. Yet…"

Fei Yi's calm eyes lingered on her. "There's potential here. Something hidden."

Kael pressed harder, varying speed and angle. Renata reacted instinctively, using slight bursts of cultivation to maintain control. Each strike flowed naturally, her skill appearing mortal yet subtly enhanced, making her counters precise.

Killian's shadow lingered far away, barely perceptible, and Julie's mischievous presence flitted subtly nearby, testing her focus. Renata remained calm, using these disruptions to sharpen her concentration.

After several minutes, Kael feigned an attack to the left but struck from the right. Renata sidestepped, flowing past him and landing a controlled counter—not enough to harm, but enough to show competence.

Kael paused, impressed. "You anticipate instinctively… remarkable."

Renata's lips curved slightly. "Observation and patience."

Instructors nodded approvingly. Kael had been chosen to detect subtle energy anomalies, but Renata's true cultivation remained hidden.

Elizabeth and Wang Hao exchanged glances, intrigued. Lin Fei's skepticism remained, but curiosity was sparked. Fei Yi's eyes narrowed slightly, sensing an unusual flow of energy—unexplainable, but interesting.

Renata retreated to a balcony, letting her hazel eyes glimmer gold as she quietly circulated energy. The sparring had reinforced her ability to conceal power while performing convincingly.

She touched her system talisman briefly—a neutral gesture, a reminder of her quiet growth and the subtle lessons hidden within each challenge.

"Every challenge… every observation… shapes me in ways I don't yet understand," she whispered.

No one else could see or interpret her actions. The subtle guidance remained a mystery—even to the audience, her family, and friends.
