Chapter 22 - Location Check-in

"His plan to create identical skills will only help him improve in the future. As long as his skills are exactly what he needs, having similar skills will be better."

"Didn't I mention before? I had nine skills of each ability. Dragon Roar, Ant's Physiology, Blessing of Elf, Flame Explosion, Enhanced Hearing, Healer's Might, Dragon Claw, Exoskeleton, Divine Blessing."

"Dragon Roar, Flame Explosion, and Dragon Claw merged to create Fire Dragon Roar. If possible, I wanted a claw-type attack with burning claws."

"But it didn't happen. I didn't get to choose my skill. It was generated the moment I put them in the ability crystal. Do you understand now?"

When Tyler finished explaining, he found himself dry mouth. So, he took out a bottle of water and drank it.

While he was drinking, others contemplated his words.

They had no idea there was a mechanism like this.

They never went to the academy, and there weren't any books on the hunter system.

Not just them, even he didn't know a lot of things. It was thanks to Diva that he learned a few things about the world.

And other things came from his wealth and experience.

That's why he persuaded Diva to create a bill currency with the enticement of changing the world for the better.

In this world, hunters were the ones maintaining peace, but they weren't given any proper respect.

If it were a higher-ranking hunter, nobody would dare to question him. If it were a lower-ranking hunter, nobody would listen to him.

Even the weakest Rank One Hunter could easily defeat ten people or even fifty.

This kind of disparity didn't matter if nobles and rulers of the countries could simply higher stronger hunters.

After all, they held the highest percentage of gold and thus controlled the market economy.

But with the arrival of Soul Bills, things shifted.

Only hunters could hunt monsters. And, even if someone wanted to sell Soul Bills for gold, it would only be used for armor and luxury items.

The value of Soul Bills lies in the hands of hunters.

Because this world would never stop producing spirits. And, as long as spirits were produced, humans could keep producing more Soul Bills.

Rose remembered something and asked.

"Lord, my skills are Blood Arrow, Blood Shield, Blood Healing, Blood Dash, Blood Explosion, and Blood Lance."

"My Blood Arrow and Blood Dash conflicts; instead, it goes well with my Blood Lance."

"And, so does my Blood Shield and Blood Explosion. They are exactly opposite in terms of their functions."

"What should I do next?"

Hearing that, even Tyler felt a bit frustrated.

He didn't know how the skills were exactly formed. He knew imagination was a big part of it.

But imagination alone didn't have skills. It was some kind of mechanism that was encoded in the ability crystal.

Because of this, he couldn't say for sure.

"Although I don't have any confidence in this theory, you can try creating a skill based on what you need."

"My second skill, Enhanced Strength, was forged out of Ant's Physiology, Enhanced Hearing, and Exoskeleton."

"So, tell me, why did it create a skill like Enhanced Strength?"

Hearing that, three of them didn't know how to answer his question.

John had already begun training, so he wasn't listening.

On the other hand, three of them didn't have much experience. Among them, only Rose had more intelligence.

It was only thanks to Tyler and those books. So after thinking for a while, she answered.

"Ant can exert more strength than its body weight. Since your hearing can be enhanced, why can't your strength?"

"And, having an exoskeleton means stronger defense and body structure, which can also increase one's strength."

Hearing that, Tyler shook his head and said.

"You are slightly wrong."

"Exoskeleton improves my defense and body structure to bear the increase in my strength and speed."

The other two skills are just like you said. But since the first and third skills improve my strength, the Heroic Skill focuses on increasing my strength."

"You could say it completely abandoned enhanced hearing, but it didn't. It took the enhanced part of that skill and applied it to my bones and muscles."

"So, for your seventh skill, try to create a skill focused on movement rather than offense."

"For your eighth skill, try to create a skill focused on defense. For your ninth skill, try to create a skill focused on offense."

"But of course, there is one thing you can do. It's a risky move and you might not succeed."

But he didn't explain it. He wanted her to understand that it was a risky idea.

Unless she wanted to hear it herself. He didn't plan to tell.

Rose thought for a moment and asked.

"Sir, you can tell me. I know how to choose. If it is impossible, I will not try."

Tyler nodded.

"For Heroic Skill, you could try creating one movement skill, one defensive/offensive skill, and one healing skill."

"You can try creating Blood Claws as an eighth skill or even boots and gauntlets so that when you create a Heroic Skill, it will produce Blood Armor."

"If I am not wrong, with a Blood Armor, not only can you defend yourself, but also attack with greater strength."

"As for the ninth skill, it can be Blood Regeneration. So that heroic skill will be something similar to Blood Healing or Regeneration."

"What do you think?"

"It's an amazing idea!"

Rose's eyes lit up, but Liam coughed from the sidelines and said.

"It's risky."

"Yes, it's risky. But it is worth taking such a risk."

Hearing that, Tyler smiled and turned towards Liam and Jacob.

"So when you try to create skill, don't just think for the present but also for the future."

"Of course, this is just my idea. It could be wrong completely."

"Even if it is wrong, it's worth pondering over."

Jacob replied.

"Sir, what do you plan to do next?" Rose asked.

"Let's wait until Martin wakes up. Then, tomorrow, we can go and try hunting more monsters. Or, if you have any other ideas, you can tell me."

Tyler answered.

Hearing that, Rose's eyes lit up as she said.

"Sir, I found a horde of Second Rank Monsters. It belongs to a Deer-type monster. There were at least thirty of those."

"With your strength, we might be able to kill them before other monsters arrive."

Hearing that, Tyler hurriedly stood up and said.

"Why didn't you tell me this first? Liam, Jacob, take care of them! Rose, show me the way!"

Without any hesitation, Rose ran towards the forest while Tyler followed her.

Liam and Jacob looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders.

On the other hand, Tyler and Rose quickly entered the forest. They soon reached the river as Rose pointed at the side.

Tyler turned his head and saw a large horde of deer drinking water from the river.

He didn't know what type of deer they were. They had large green horns and large brown fur.

Except for that, they looked no different than normal deer.

"Rose, I will go from that side. You go from that side, startle them, and force them towards me. I will try to take them down with one attack."

Although he couldn't exactly sense their strength, he couldn't feel threatened by them either.

This was a good thing since it meant they were weaker than him.

After making the plan, he rushed from the right side while Rose went from the left side.

They tried to hide from the horde as much as they could while crossing the river.

It wasn't a big river, but trying to leap over with a single jump was still hard.

Fortunately, Rose was Second Rank while Tyler was Third Rank.

Even First Rank, with all of their strength, could leap over this river, much less them.

But unlike with Tyler, Rose's jump created some noise, and the sharp deer immediately heard that.

They glanced at her, and Rose panicked.

She hurriedly released a large portion of her Aura and activated her Blood Manipulation.

A small portion of blood leaked from her skin and expanded into a large arrow.

[First Skill- Blood Arrow]

Her blood aura flew towards them. Seeing this, the deer turned around and ran in the opposite direction, completely walking into Tyler's trap.

But they were lucky.

Because Tyler was quite stunned by the notification on his system.

[Location Check-in has been activated]

[You received Soul Boosting Potion]

As soon as he heard that, he was amazed.

Just from the name, he could decipher the function of this potion, and it was the best reward for him.

Any increase in his physical and mental state could improve his Aura. And that's exactly what he needed.

But he was so stunned by the notification, he didn't even notice the deer until they came close.

And they weren't friendly. The moment they saw him, their horns extended towards him, like a sharp spear.
