Chapter 24 - GWPF Chapter 25: Space Travel, Purple Planet

Returning to the Palais Mermonia, Furina dismissed all the guards while Clorinde was still at the opera house. She slipped into her bedroom and, when no one was watching, entered the Kamui Dimension.

"I'm here."

As soon as Furina entered, she saw Momoshiki lying comfortably in the pile of books, reading a novel.

He looked so relaxed. The novel must really be to his liking. She'd buy more of this type next time.

"Yeah."

Momoshiki nodded, marking the page he'd read with a bookmark. He closed the book, put it in the pile, and stood up.

"Let's go."

He reached out and pinched a portal into existence, and Furina walked through.

Her vision swayed for a moment, and she felt dizzy and uncomfortable, but it quickly passed.

The familiar scenery reappeared before her eyes. The Divine Tree was clearly thicker and stronger than before. Although it was still gray, it had a more vibrant look.

The thousand-year growth cycle had been accelerated to ten days, so each day was like a hundred years. No wonder it was growing so fast.

Furina was being controlled by Momoshiki at this time, flying freely in the high sky, able to fully observe the appearance of the Divine Tree.

"This Divine Tree is bigger than before. It looks very healthy," Furina said, pursing her lips. She still wasn't quite used to the feeling of destroying planets.

But you couldn't blame Furina. She'd been a mascot for 500 years, and suddenly she was being dragged off to destroy planets. It had only been three days since they'd planted the Divine Tree. A normal person couldn't adapt so quickly, right?

People blessed by Aha were an exception.

Momoshiki didn't speak, just calmly looking at the Divine Tree, lost in thought for a moment.

The system hadn't made a peep so far, and it never assigned tasks. Besides the newbie gift pack, he couldn't get anything.

So, how should he plant the Divine Tree next? Should he just break off a few branches from this Divine Tree and play with cuttings?

Even if he could plant them, he couldn't get Otsutsuki White Zetsu.

Headache.

The Divine Tree seemed to sense Momoshiki and Furina's arrival, and slowly stretched out the face of the Ten-Tails again, staring straight at them, which was quite eerie.

"Eek... scary!"

The timid Furina wasn't used to that face at all, tightly closing her left eye, afraid to look.

A towering tree was glaring with a giant, blood-red Rinne Sharingan, a single eye, and even vaguely had a human shape, with wriggling horns on its face.

It had a pitch-black, abyss-like mouth that looked like it could swallow mountains, and countless sharp teeth, densely packed, making people's trypophobia almost flare up.

It was fine in a manga style, but once it was modeled, it would have to be censored even in a gore section.

"Don't worry, it's not malicious. It's our pet now."

As he spoke, Momoshiki slowly approached the Ten-Tails, and the Ten-Tails obediently didn't move, waiting for Momoshiki to descend onto its head using Furina's body.

After arriving on the Ten-Tails' head, feeling the sensation under his feet, Furina's lips twitched slightly.

It didn't feel like flesh at all, more like an unanalyzable life form, very strange.

The Ten-Tails was like a pet cat or dog, squinting its eyes with a comfortable expression.

In its eyes, its master was stroking it.

You're enjoying this, aren't you?

Momoshiki's face was full of black lines. He lightly stomped on the Ten-Tails' head, telling it to restrain its expression.

Understanding its master's meaning, the Ten-Tails returned to a normal, expressionless state, becoming even more terrifying.

"Tsk..."

Frowning slightly, Momoshiki decided to ignore this thing for now.

"Let's go back. This Divine Tree is pretty healthy."

Saying this lightly, Momoshiki prepared to open a portal back to the Palais Mermonia.

Hearing Momoshiki's words, Furina slowly opened her tightly closed left eye, swallowing her saliva. "Are we going back now?"

"Yeah," Momoshiki nodded, then rested his chin on his hand and asked in confusion, "From what you're saying, is there something you want to do?"

"I want to see the universe," Furina said softly.

From the first time she came here, Furina had been curious about the universe.

Her previous understanding of the starry sky only existed from observations on the ground, and she often wondered in her spare time if these stars had continents like Teyvat.

Or if people lived there.

After Momoshiki arrived, these questions were answered correctly, so all that was left was the desire to explore the unknown.

"Oh? That's surprising."

Slightly surprised, Momoshiki didn't say much, directly flying outside the planet.

Since Furina wanted to see, he'd just take her for a look.

The gaps between each planet were so far apart. From a human perspective, it was pitch black, with nothing but a few specks of light, very boring. Unless you wanted to wander around on a star or a living planet, it was all the same dark, harsh environment.

Wandering around on a star was still possible. He could just surround himself with highly concentrated chakra, easily blocking thousands of degrees of heat, and the inside would be as cool as if the air conditioner was on.

It was just that the stars were quite dazzling. Sunglasses couldn't block it. He had to protect his eyes.

"You probably didn't look carefully last time, so take a good look now."

"Uh... it's so dark."

Furina blinked, feeling like she couldn't see anything, like she was crawling into bed in the dark, unable to see her own fingers.

"Open your Sharingan. You can capture the traces of planets in the dark."

Listening to Momoshiki's words, Furina activated her Sharingan, and her vision underwent a tremendous change.

The originally pitch-black universe suddenly became as brilliant as if a slideshow had been turned on. Various stellar rays of light condensed into elegant ribbons, swaying within her field of vision. She could also see many planets, colorful, with everything.

Cosmic aurora nebulae, none were missing.

Wow~ Isn't this the common wallpaper for phones and computers?

"Wow——!!!"

Furina was deeply fascinated with just one glance, staring obsessively at the shocking scene before her.

At the same time, she deeply felt what was called vastness and what was called insignificance.

"Is this the true face of the universe... It's so beautiful..."

"Anyway, it's free time now. I can take you to any planet you want to go to."

Momoshiki said calmly, although he was also deeply attracted by this dynamic wallpaper-like scene.

Hearing Momoshiki say this, a hint of surprise flashed in Furina's cute and lively eyes. She looked around and pointed to a nearby planet that was glowing with purple light.

"There's a planet over there with a purple glow. I want to go see it."

Momoshiki looked towards that planet. It was a purple and purely gem-like planet.

This planet looked... um... why was it so happy?

From the perspective in front of her, it was definitely the most suitable dreamlike feeling, but it seemed out of place in the dark universe.

"Okay."

The happy planet-like appearance also piqued Momoshiki's curiosity. Using the Yomotsu Hirasaka space-time ninjutsu, he directly came to the top of this planet.

Looking closely, he realized that this planet had some blackness in the purple light. It seemed to have continents.

"Looks like there are landing points. I'll wrap myself in chakra. Let's go down and take a look."

"Yeah."

Furina's curiosity was also becoming stronger and stronger.

Using chakra to condense a dark shield around them, Momoshiki didn't choose the Gaia-style landing this time, but turned into a stream of light and swooped down rapidly, stopping when he saw the ground.

Who knew what they'd hit if they crashed down?

This planet wasn't chosen by the system, so it was better to be safe.

After arriving on the surface, they could truly feel the shock of this planet.

Endless, outlined mountains, and purple clouds swirling within like waterfalls. Many places were dotted with gold.

He didn't know what purple chemical substance it was, but it looked quite harmful.

The chakra shield was truly feeling the burning damage, and it was continuous.

Fortunately, he'd wrapped himself in chakra on the outside, otherwise his body might have been fine, but Furina's clothes would have been dissolved.

"This place is so beautiful!!"

Furina's eyes lit up, carefully looking around, pointing to an open and gorgeous place and saying, "I want to build a house there and make a home. It must be especially comfortable to sleep every night and look at the scenery outside."

"I don't know if it'll be comfortable, but the house will definitely be broken down over time."

"Huh?"

A big question mark rose from Furina's head, scratching the back of her head in confusion.

"What do you mean by broken down?"

"The air here has a special chemical element that produces purple color under light, is highly toxic, and has strong corrosiveness."

"So, it's not suitable for life to live here. It's just a barren planet."

Momoshiki explained with his limited knowledge.

Before he transmigrated, he was just a background character in class, with average grades, especially in chemistry.

He didn't even know if he'd learned about this chemical substance, but since it was on another planet, it might be a new element that hadn't been discovered.

"Ah... I see."

After listening to Momoshiki's explanation, Furina was a little disappointed.

It was a pity that such a beautiful planet wasn't suitable for living.

"The universe is like this. The more beautiful it is, the more dangerous it may be. A star may be relatively bright one second, but the next second it will turn to ashes and disappear."

"And we, a cosmic race, are therefore pursuing power and constantly becoming stronger, dealing with all disasters, becoming gods who control the universe, so that we can freely travel to any place in the universe like this."

"Okay."

With this explanation, Furina had a new understanding of the universe.

"Haha~"

Momoshiki chuckled lightly.

He'd originally planned to wander around for a while and then leave, but suddenly he sensed a strong sense of malice, coming from the outer edge of this planet.

"We seem to be in trouble now."

His brows furrowed slightly, Momoshiki looked up at the sky, his gaze crossing space to see a group of uniquely shaped battleships.

"Trouble?" Furina was stunned, not reacting for a moment. After her brain turned a circle, she said in shock, "Huh? Wait! You said trouble?!!"
