Chapter 82 - Chapter 82: I Love Having a Full Wallet

Julius watched from the bridge of the Star Walker, a fresh wave of satisfaction washing over him. In the silence of space, before his flagship, reality tore open in several places. Enormous, angular shapes emerged from the void, their steel hulls gleaming faintly in the starlight. The twenty Terran battlecruisers had just materialized, their engines immediately powering up to stabilize. With perfect precision, they slotted into the armada's formation, adding colossal firepower to the fleet. It was a profoundly satisfying sight. To see his power expand like this, literally bought and paid for in full.

"System," Julius announced, his eyes still fixed on the new ships. "Next purchase. The Interceptor javelin from the game Anthem. A fast, agile melee class, specialized in rapid strikes. I'm reserving it for future use, for when I have female personnel to equip."

"Acquisition of complete blueprints and specifications for the Interceptor-class Javelin confirmed. Points deducted."

The data was stored in his archives. A light, deadly, and acrobatic armor for his future warriors. He liked the idea.

Satisfied with his material acquisitions, he moved on to intellectual manpower. He activated his desk intercom.

"Professor Stetmann, Braveheart here. I'll need you and your colleague, Doctor Catherine Halsey. I have documents of the highest importance to give you. They are Top Secret."

Shortly after, the two geniuses, one eccentric and chatty, the other cold and methodical, stood in his office. Julius transmitted the encrypted data to them.

"Doctor Halsey," he began, "these are the complete schematics for Project Spartan-II, including your corrective measures for the side effects. Your mission is to adapt and perfect it for our needs. Use Kamino's resources. I want Spartans who are even more effective, loyal, and capable of working in perfect synergy with our other units."

Halsey, whose eyes lit up at the sight of her own work so perfectly preserved and enhanced, nodded seriously. "It will be done, Lord Commander."

He turned to Stetmann. "Egon, for you. The blueprints for the Data android and the Interceptor javelin. I want you to oversee the creation of the androids for my admirals and begin prototypes for the Interceptor. Make me dream."

Stetmann, already fiddling excitedly with his device, replied with an "Ooh, ooh, shiny toys! Efficiency will be maximized, Jules, you can count on me!"

Once alone, a more complex thought occupied Julius's mind. Facing psykers and the powers of the Warp, he needed an absolute defense. He had his own power, but he needed innate warriors, psychic nulls.

"Finding women like the Sisters of Silence..." he murmured. These rare beings, born without a presence in the Warp, were the ultimate psyker hunters. The Imperium guarded them jealously. Finding them would be extremely difficult, almost impossible by conventional means.

He reconnected to the System, a sliver of hope in his heart. "System. Search for individuals possessing the Pariah gene, or an equivalent characteristic of psychic nullity. Search filter: female, combat potential."

The System was silent for a moment, scanning databases on an unimaginable scale.

"Search in progress... The rarity of the profile is extreme. Probability of location: 0.0000001%. Do you wish to allocate acquisition points to force an in-depth search and precise location within the galaxy? The cost will be exponential."

Julius looked at the astronomical figure in his account. A smile played on his lips. This was the kind of moment he loved having a full wallet for.

"Do it. I'm not just buying objects. I'm buying miracles. Find me my daemon hunters."
