On Dakora-7.
Governor Garnus was a hard man, guided by principles and known for never breaking his word. For years, he had maintained an inflexible righteousness and wished to pass these values to his son, whom he cherished above all else. But, having coddled him too much, he had turned a blind eye to the young man's growing vices. Outwardly, Urek was magnificent, charming, and eloquent. But inside, he was consumed by lust and debauchery.
The other Hive Lords knew this. When a ball or feast required the presence of all the lords, they would only attend these events accompanied by women disguised as wives or stand-ins, to prevent Urek from casting his lustful gaze upon their true family members. This shameful situation was, of course, fueled by a darker influence: the insidious mark of Slaanesh, the Chaos god thirsty for excess and perverse pleasures.
It was in this context that the ships of Bastion arrived in the system. The cruiser "Ouroboros" made contact, respectfully asking if Dakora-7 would agree to join the nascent Bastion empire.
The Lords were divided, as was the Governor himself. After all, it had been centuries since any external power had taken an interest in their world.
As the Governor watched the group of lords bicker—some even discussing trivial matters—a soldier hurriedly entered the room: "My Lord! A new message from Bastion. They wish to know if you have made your decision."
Governor Garnus, making a decision: "Very well. Put the message on the main Holo-projector."
Aboard the Ouroboros.
Captain Guerra: "Finally! I was beginning to grow impatient. Kala, have you finished decrypting their broadcast system?"
Kala, an android with feminine features inspired by Data, replied in a calm voice: "Yes, Captain. Their system was childishly simple. The transmission crystals are already in place on the planet via our Banshees. The screen is functional."
Zimm - The signal connected.
On Dakora-7.
Governor Garnus: "Greetings to you. To whom do I have the honor of speaking?"
The Governor and his lords intended only to prolong the dialogue, uncertain of Bastion's true power. But the Governor's son, Urek, had a very different reaction. The moment his eyes fell upon Captain Guerra—a woman of beauty and authority he had never encountered—a violent desire to possess her seized him.
Interrupting the discussion, much to his father's displeasure, Urek stepped forward: "I would like to invite the Captain and her retinue to a reception. To make a good impression and show our hospitality."
Captain Guerra looked at her team on the bridge, her face remaining perfectly calm. After a brief silence, she replied: "I accept your invitation. We will see you shortly." The communication was cut.
Turning to Kala, the Captain asked: "Recommendations?"
Kala, without hesitation: "I recommend an escort composed of a Ghost unit and a detachment of Void Sisters. One can never be too careful."
Aboard the Terran ship, the crew sprang into action with formidable efficiency. They knew that soon, there would be a new world for Lord Commander Julius. Whether by word... or by sword.
