"You can help me?" Nitori Kawashiro's words undoubtedly piqued Kars's interest. If there was a more efficient method, he would certainly agree to it.
"Of course! Don't underestimate our Kappa technology!"
"If you can genuinely help, then I can agree to your proposal. As for the energy you mentioned, do you need it now?" Kars raised his hand, gathering Solar element energy into a sphere. Nitori was about to say something when she saw the light sphere in Kars's hand and frowned.
"No, that's not what I want at all! The reaction I detected wasn't like this. It should be something that looks more powerful."
"Don't do anything dangerous during class!" Kamishirasawa Keine immediately interjected. If anything went wrong, it would be a disaster, not just for the Terakoya students but for the surrounding residents.
"You're right. This kind of thing needs to be tested in a proper facility. Anyway, I'm not ready right now; I haven't even prepared the specialized instruments." Nitori realized that causing trouble in the Human Village would have serious consequences.
"I'll come find you after I get my equipment ready."
"Alright then." Kars didn't mind waiting. A short delay was no problem for him.
"Alright, let's continue with the lesson." Seeing the matter resolved for now, Keine breathed a sigh of relief. She hadn't expected such an development between Nitori and Kars. She wondered if this was a good or bad thing.
As the class concluded, Nitori's teaching time was over.
"I'll come back here to find you once I'm ready!" Her backpack deployed propellers, lifting her into the air. After shouting to Kars below, she immediately flew off. Kars, filled with anticipation, returned to the Scarlet Devil Mansion and found Remilia and Patchouli in the garden.
"It seems today's lesson wasn't so bad, was it?" Remilia looked at Kars. His spirit and mood seemed quite good. She wondered if Kars had already adapted. If so, his adjustment was remarkably fast.
"It was alright. The teacher today wasn't Teacher Keine but a Kappa named Nitori Kawashiro. She taught about machinery and stuff. Although I still didn't understand a lot, what she explained wasn't too complicated. She said she has a way to make me grow up faster, as long as I give her some special energy from my body."
"If she's interested in that, you need to be careful not to deplete too much energy and cause your body to shrink again." Patchouli offered a gentle reminder. While the possibility of Kars's body shrinking again was low, over-exhausting his energy could still affect him. Since no one knew if this was entirely safe, it was best to avoid repeating the previous extreme energy drain.
"I know. I'll be careful. Besides, staying like this doesn't align with my future goals."
"Good. Now, go play with Flandre for a while." After Kars left, Patchouli turned to Remilia.
"Well? Did everything happen as you predicted?"
"I don't know. The threads of fate still haven't made any obvious contact. But that's within the range of expectation." Remilia shook her head. "They probably haven't met and properly connected yet. Besides, this discovery is a welcome surprise. I can't possibly know exactly how things will unfold, but I can confirm that at the endpoint, the threads of fate are intertwining. This means Kars should eventually find a suitable partner."
Since Kars began interacting with Kamishirasawa Keine, Remilia had noticed new changes and extensions in the thread of fate surrounding Kars. This piqued her interest, and she started observing the potential outcomes. In Remilia's view, this was a good thing. At the very least, she didn't have to worry about her foolish nephew failing to find a partner in the future. To ensure things proceeded smoothly, she needed Kars to continue going to the Terakoya.
"So, you're not telling Kars because you're worried he'll mess things up again?"
"You know this child's personality, don't you? If I told him anything, there's a high probability he'd interfere and cause problems. Since letting Teacher Kamishirasawa handle things already puts Kars in contact with those people, there's no need to remind him. I'd rather not risk him creating a huge problem." Remilia could easily foresee that if she told Kars he could find his future partner there, he would definitely not just sit back. He might even approach any girl who met his fancy with, "Will you be my future wife?"
"Indeed." Patchouli nodded in agreement. It was entirely possible for Kars to cause unpredictable chaos once he knew.
"So, I've done all I can. If Kars still manages to mess up, there's nothing more I can do. I can, at most, offer a few reminders to prevent major issues." If he failed even after all this support, Remilia would give him a serious spanking. If he couldn't succeed even with this much assistance, it would be a testament to how incompetent Kars was.
"Patchouli, keep an eye on him too. He spends most of his time with you. If he has any ideas or plans recently, he'll mostly talk to you or Koakuma. That way, you two can know immediately." Remilia felt quite exhausted guiding her nephew's destiny. She could only pray that this matter would conclude smoothly and quickly. Then, she could comfortably return to her life and wait for him to expand the Scarlett family.
"I understand. I will keep a close watch on him."
