Chapter 59 - Chapter 59

"Sakuya, are you sure this person is the same one Kars talked about?" After asking Sakuya to investigate Yuuka Kazami, Remilia was utterly astonished by the results.

Looking at the table filled with rumors about Yuuka Kazami, Remilia's face twitched. She immediately dismissed the idea of visiting the Garden of the Sun herself. Since she had a specific name, gathering intelligence was remarkably easy—or rather, Yuuka was so notoriously famous that information about her was readily available.

"The Flower Master," a simple and brutal title, was enough to understand the kind of person she was; otherwise, the word "Master" would never be used.

"She lives surrounded by flowers all year round. Humans and yokai who trespass into her flower field are violently eliminated without question. I think Kars must have been misled, right? How can a person like that be associated with the word 'gentle'?" Remilia was getting a headache and even wondered if something was wrong with her nephew's perception. Why else would he think this?

"Perhaps she has a side that is unknown to the public?" Sakuya suggested this possibility. She didn't think Kars was entirely wrong. After all, the information they had gathered was mostly public knowledge. The fact that she was willing to teach at the Terakoya suggested something about her character.

"That's certainly possible." Remilia agreed. If that was the case, it made sense that Yuuka was teaching at the Terakoya, which implied she might have a fondness for children. This would explain why Kars thought she was gentle.

"But even so, I don't see Kars and her getting far." Would a Great Yokai like Yuuka Kazami like Kars, who was significantly younger than her? The possibility of her agreeing to marry him was very low.

"Oh, why did something like this have to happen?" Remilia sighed. What she thought was good news turned out to be this incredibly vexing problem.

"Should we invite her to meet us?"

"She likely won't acknowledge our invitation." Remilia shook her head, believing Yuuka would completely ignore such an invitation, and they shouldn't waste time considering it.

"So, what should we do about Young Master Kars? Should we tell him about Yuuka Kazami and ask him to give up?" Sakuya thought that telling Kars might not be very effective, given how strong his positive feelings for Yuuka were.

"Yes, I definitely need to talk to him properly about Yuuka Kazami. The personality of a Great Yokai like her is too difficult to figure out." At the same time, Remilia considered how to persuade Kars to seriously think about the Yuuka Kazami situation. Although Yuuka met Kars's expectations in many ways, the low possibility of them getting together, and the potential problems if they did, made Remilia feel that Yuuka was not a good choice. She couldn't predict what their relationship would be like, whether good or bad.

Soon after, Sakuya brought Kars over.

"Little Auntie, do you want to talk about Sister Yuuka?"

"Yes, about Yuuka Kazami. These are the rumors about her in Gensokyo." Remilia told Kars the known information. Kars listened and was slightly stunned, but his reaction wasn't overly dramatic.

"Is that so? Is Sister Yuuka really like that in private? It's a bit hard to imagine." After all, Kars couldn't reconcile the Yuuka he met and interacted with with the rumored Flower Master.

"Yuuka Kazami is a Great Yokai with a very high danger level. Frankly, I don't think much of your idea. The possibility is low. Even though she seems to have a good impression of children, for her to actually agree to marry you would be extremely difficult." Remilia stated her perspective, hoping Kars would think carefully and make a decision.

"You also don't think this will work out, Little Auntie?"

"It seems Patchouli and I share the same thoughts." Remilia knew without asking that Patchouli felt the same way. The fact that Patchouli felt this way even without knowing the rumors made Remilia feel her judgment was likely correct.

"That's right. Patchouli also thought that it would be very difficult for me and Sister Yuuka to develop a relationship leading to marriage. I also didn't expect Sister Yuuka to have such a reputation." Having his closest people think this way made Kars feel somewhat discouraged.

"Kars, this matter requires serious consideration. But if you're not willing to give up just yet, try to get to know her better if you can contact her."

"Okay. Sister Yuuka did ask me if I wanted to visit her Garden of the Sun. I refused because the invitation was sudden and I hadn't discussed it with you." Hearing about this, Remilia felt the other party must genuinely like children, even inviting Kars to her Garden of the Sun. It was only natural that people would like her nephew, since he was so adorable.

"Then when you go, you must be careful not to be rude or do anything that might anger her, understood?"

"I know, Little Auntie. Besides, when have I ever disappointed you?"

When have you not disappointed me?! Whether it was his attitude of quickly admitting fault but never changing his ways, or the issue of finding a marriage partner, when had he ever behaved well? And now he had his sights set on such a dangerous person, which only added to her worries!

Remilia even considered just asking Sakuya to bite the bullet. It would be less of a headache for Sakuya and Kars to get together than for Kars to pursue Yuuka Kazami. That way, all her worries would be gone, and she could comfortably go back to her daily life without worrying about Kars.
