The moment Leon asked about his Trial, Ghostwire froze.
From the body language of the Synth for the past few minutes, Leon could tell that he was feeling guilty about something.
'Is he feeling guilty because of my injuries?'
'He thinks I suffered like this because he didn't follow us on the operation?' These thoughts were why he decided to pull Ghostwire into the conversation, to make him feel at ease and reassure him that he didn't hold grudges.
Besides, it wasn't even his fault in the first place.
Ghostwire quietly stared at Leon for a few seconds, then he looked at Talia who looked back at him.

Leon raised his eyebrows and laughed. "That's all?"
"Uh, no". He was as taciturn and awkward as ever but this time, Leon didn't intend to let him off the hook as he just stared at him, waiting for him to explain.
