Chapter 14 - 0014 DS#14: Yushai

Saigid' focus snaps back to the present at Lyutich's words, his irritation quickly replaced by immediate alarm.

"What?" he snaps, all thoughts of the volcano and the warehouse vanishing in an instant. "How the hell is Yushai 'missing'?"

He steps forward, eyes sweeping the tent as if expecting to suddenly see Yushai hiding in a corner. "He was standing right here, just a minute ago—"

Saigid paces impatiently inside the tent, still clutching his phone tightly in his hand. His mind is racing with countless questions and worries.

"Where the hell did Yushai go?" he mutters under his breath, agitation evident in his voice. "How did he escape without anyone noticing? He could be anywhere—and we have no idea where to even start looking for him."

Crystal entered the tent. Saigid felt that this was very much Crystal clone as he was much shorter than before.

"Follow me," he commanded as he left the tent.

Saigid glances up as Crystal enters, a flicker of surprise flashing in his eyes. For a moment, he is taken off guard by the man's appearance—he looks different, somehow. Shorter, but... off, in a way that Saigid can't quite put his finger on.

At Crystal's command, Saigid frowns, eyes narrowing with suspicion. "Follow you?" he repeats, his tone edged with wariness. "Where are we going?"

He walks briskly in the direction of the server. Lyutich looks at Saigid uncomprehendingly.

Saigid casts a glance after Crystal, his suspicions only growing at the man's brisk pace. Something feels off here, and every instinct he has is screaming at him to be on his guard.

Lyutich's confused expression mirrors his own concern, and Saigid glances at his companion before turning back to Crystal.

"Wait—" he calls out, his voice low and sharp as he steps forward. "You can't just expect us to follow you without telling us where we're going."

They all walked, and went around several tents. Then Saigid saw a very guarded area and in the center there was an trailer bus. They were clearly heading that way.Huge shadows began to appear on the ground. The flapping of the wings hurt the ears. Then a colored crystal fell from the sky. And the former vice president of Fermiris appeared in front of them. Loky. More precisely, his hologram.

Saigid' eyes snap upward at the sound of massive wings—his entire body locking in place as the shadow looms over them.

A crystal falls, shattering with unnatural grace, and then—

Loku. Or at least a shimmering projection of him, standing before them like some kind of twisted ghost. Saigid inhales sharply through his nose, irritation flaring alongside instinctive caution.

"Of course," he mutters dryly under his breath. "Now he's here." His gaze cuts toward Crystal—still walking ahead without so much as glancing back—before returning to Loku's flickering form.

Something about this feels too calculated... too orchestrated.

And that never means anything good.

Saigid' eyes flick toward the trailer as the president emerges from its depths, his already-heightened suspicion rising even further.

His eyes narrow, studying the man critically as he steps forward. "Just how many more 'surprises' are there?" he mutters dryly, his voice low and sharp.

His gaze flicks back to Lyutich, his jaw clenching as he speaks again, voice so quiet it's nearly a whisper. "...Stay close," he murmurs. "This feels off."

Loku looks straight into the president's eyes and says, "Have you lost something? Have you lost someone?"

"Stop fooling around, bring him back. Otherwise, it will end badly for you."

Saigid bristles as Loku speaks, his irritation flaring at the man's flippant tone. The conversation feels like a twisted exchange, but something about it strikes a chilling note in him.

He clenches his jaw, waiting for the president's response. Something's off—something feels wrong about this entire situation, and he can't shake the feeling that he's only getting part of the picture.

Loku turned to Lutych and Saigid. "and who are you?"

Lyutich replied without hesitation before Loku continued. "we are not on your side. We're for Yushai," he said in a commanding voice.

Saigid slapped himself on the forehead due to Lyutich's lack of brains

Saigid grimaces as Lyutich gives an honest answer without hesitation, his eyes closing for a moment as if in pain. Of course the man would just offer them up without question...

"Idiot," he mutters under his breath, his frustration rising further. "Of all the things you could say—"

He forces himself to rein in his temper with considerable effort, his jaw clenched as he turns to face Loku. "And what the hell is that supposed to mean?"

"Oooooh… So you're Yushai's people. Are you aware that your leader was imprisoned in Cyclops because of the president?"

"It doesn't concern them in any way," the president replied sharply.

When the president answers back, Saigid' eyes narrow further, his jaw clenching. "Doesn't concern us?" he repeats, a sharp edge in his voice. "Bullshit. Everything about this concerns us."

Earlier

A huge black raven arrives and sits next to Loku. The raven flapped its wings and black smoke doused everything. The raven turned into a man. It was Kena, Loku's ally.

"Kena, did you find anything yet?" Loku turned to the man.

"they want to give it away as a vessel for the extra-dome king." He replied disgustedly.

Loku frowned. "Where is he now?"

"at the moment, he is currently being tortured. I have no idea why. It was on the territory of a volcano. And yes, I think he caused the volcano to erupt."

Loku was quite surprised and concerned about the news, "He has that kind of power. He was imprisoned because of his ability, isn't that right?"

"I do not know. What are we going to do?"
