Chapter 3 - What Next??

Anne's POV

During the break, I went to Katie's classroom and talked to her, but in the end, it was all for nothing-she didn't agree not to change classes.😮‍💨😮‍💨

After that, I went to the cafeteria, bought a drink, and made my way to the terrace. I sat there, sipping my drink. Suddenly, someone said, "HEY!" The voice was neither too loud nor too soft. I was startled by the sudden sound and almost lost my balance-nearly falling-until the person caught me by the hand.

That's when I saw the person who had caught me. I brushed his hand off and stood up steadily.

When I looked at him, his eyebrows were raised as he said, "Don't you know how to thank people? If it weren't for me, you'd be down there lying flat."

I replied, "If it weren't for your sudden appearance, that wouldn't have happened to me-so technically, it's your fault again. So you better apologize to me."

He smirked and said, "Me? Apologize? To you?" He pointed at himself, then at me. "In your dreams."

I chuckled at what he said, gave him a disgusted look, and walked away.

Classes went quite well. As the last class ended, David from the bench in front said, "You're pretty quiet today, Kevin."

He looked at me for a moment, then turned to David and said, "I'm just thinking-how can someone believe I'd ever apologize to them?"

I scoffed in disbelief and turned to him. He smirked again. 😒I swear, if I could, I would've wiped that smirk right off his face.

As I left my seat, I stepped on his shoes. He didn't make a sound, but I noticed the pain on his face. I smiled in victory and left the room.

My brother had come to pick us up, since it was our first day. I sat in the backseat with him while Chris sat in the passenger seat. My brother was on a call and didn't say anything until he hung up. Then he looked at me and asked, "How did your first day go?"

I didn't tell him about that maniac. I simply looked out the window and said, "Quite well." He nodded and asked Chris the same question. Chris also said, "Great." The car remained silent the entire time after that.

When we got home, I went straight inside and greeted my mom, who was busy on her PC. I went to my room and freshened up. As I sat down, the maid knocked and asked if I would eat in my room or downstairs. I told her to bring my food to my room.

After that, I ate lunch and rested for a while.

Then I got up, studied for the next day, and revised everything from today's classes. I took my tutoring sessions as well. Once I was done, I looked at the clock-7:30 PM. I changed clothes, wore my sneakers, and left the room with my phone and AirPods.

I went to Chris's room and asked if he wanted to come. He got ready, and we left the house together.

When we got there, Katie and a friend of Chris's were waiting for us. We played tennis together, then came back. It was 9:00 PM. My brother and father still weren't home. My mother wasn't in the hallway either, nor was my sister. I sighed, already used to this environment.

I went to my room, freshened up, and spent some time reviewing my notes.

Then came the legendary knock from my brother, telling me to come down for dinner. Like, after being out all day, they come at night and ask us to eat together?

I left my room and went downstairs. I sat in my seat-right next to my demon brother. We thanked God and started eating. No one talked during dinner. After we finished, my father asked, "Dear, how was your day?"

I replied, and then they all started asking Chris and me different questions.

After dinner, I went back to my room, changed, and got ready to sleep. Before that, I read novels about astronomy.

Suddenly, I heard the door open. I quickly hid my book. It was my sister-the one who hadn't asked me a single question downstairs.

She sat in the chair beside my bed and asked, "Dear, were you comfortable there?"

The question I had expected someone to ask-but no one else had.

I nodded, and she said, "If there's any problem, or anything else you need, you can tell me. I'll do my best to help."

I wanted to ask how she'd manage that when she's already so busy. She's a business professor at a university and helps my parents and brother with the family business. But I just nodded. She smiled at me and left the room.

I took my book out, read a page, and went to sleep with my AirPods in.

You find that weird, right? Yes, I can't sleep-my thoughts start to clash, like my brain is dividing into two or three parts. Listening to something helps me fall asleep.

Next Day

I woke up from a dream-everything was blurred. A girl was crying on top of a tall building. Suddenly, someone pushed her. I woke up, breathing heavily, sweat on my face. I wiped it off. It was only 5:00 AM.

Since I couldn't go back to sleep, I stayed awake and reviewed some physics questions. Then I got fresh, wore my uniform, packed my bag, took my phone and AirPods-yes, they're my life-and went downstairs.

I ate breakfast, took my bike from the garage, and started pedaling slowly. I had time. After a while, I noticed Chris following me on his bike. I stopped and told him to go quietly-I wanted peace. He nodded, even though he clearly wanted to ask something.

We both rode to school. I sat in my seat and stared out the window. I was pulled out of my thoughts when the teacher arrived.

Kevin's POV

The first day wasn't exactly great... until she showed up. A new girl-Anne. I liked how we kept fighting, especially me, always finding ways to annoy her just so she'd talk to me. I even went up to the terrace just to mess with her.

The next day, I got out of my car and headed to class. I saw her, looking out the window. I sat beside her. She didn't even flinch, like she was zoning out. She only came back to her senses when the teacher arrived.

We focused on class.

After the first class, she left her seat and sat with Rosalyn. They were talking happily. Other girls joined them too. We had two free classes, and they kept chatting and smiling. I don't know why, but her smile-it really felt like sunshine. She looked so bright when she smiled.💛💛

After the break, Eliya came to me and asked me to sit somewhere else because she wanted to sit next to Anne. I looked at Anne, then moved to sit with David.

Anne's POV

I left my seat after the first class-I didn't want to argue with him. So I sat with Rosalyn. The other girls joined us too. We talked and studied. We became great friends instantly.🧡🧡

After school, I left with them. We were biking and chatting.

When I got home, I went straight to my room, freshened up, and spent the day normally. But the dream from last night wouldn't leave my mind. Questions kept coming:

"What if the dream was real?"😬😬

"Who was the girl?"🫥🫥

"Who pushed her-and why?"🫣🫣
