Chapter 126 – Welcome to Shameless!!! Season Two

The moment a werewolf appeared, every firearm fired at once—

silver bullets tearing through the air.

For Selene, this had stopped being a battle.

It had become an outlet.

Her god-of-slaughter presence naturally drew the attention of many vampires.

They were curious—

how was she making all those guns float around her?

But no one had time to ask.

In a carefully planned surprise assault by the Lycans, even the highly trained Death Dealers began to falter.

They had been caught off guard.

Gradually, the line started to collapse.

Before long, Selene's unit was surrounded mid-advance by a pack of werewolves.

"Selene—watch out!" Kane shouted.

She turned—

just in time to see a massive wolf's claw descending toward her head.

She tried to dodge on instinct—

but there wasn't enough distance.

For a brief moment, despair flickered in her eyes.

Then—

A shadow flashed past like a specter.

Silver light arced through the air.

The leaping werewolf was cut cleanly in half at the waist, its body splitting midair before crashing down.

"It's you!" Selene exclaimed, stunned when she saw William again.

Earlier, she had already wanted to ask how he had even managed to get inside.

She was a Death Dealer of Viktor's clan, after all, and she knew Amelia's faction fairly well—

yet she had never heard of William before.

After saving Selene, William didn't roam elsewhere.

With Lucian dead, the werewolves lost centralized command.

Once the vampires regrouped—despite having already lost a third of their forces—they drove the remaining Lycans away.

The battle ended in mutual devastation.

Among the three vampire clans, everyone except Amelia's faction was nearly wiped out.

The Death Dealers suffered massive casualties.

The werewolves lost their leader—and a huge portion of their numbers.

Both races were left badly wounded.

In the aftermath, William directly installed Amelia as Empress of the Vampire Race.

The council was already filled with their people.

No dissenting votes.

As for Markus, still sleeping beneath the earth—

he would likely never awaken again.

Unless Alexander, that old schemer, decided to cheat.

---

After the dust settled—

Aboard a cruise ship cutting through moonlit waters.

Selene stood by the railing, gazing at the sea bathed in silver light.

William stepped beside her and leaned against the rail.

"Thank you," Selene said suddenly.

"Hm?" William glanced at her. "For what?"

He genuinely wasn't sure what she meant.

"You saved me twice."

That was Selene.

When someone treated her well, she returned it tenfold.

Otherwise, she never would've betrayed the entire vampire race for Michael in the original timeline.

"Why?"

Selene asked quietly at that moment.

"Of course it was for you," William replied without the slightest hesitation.

He didn't bother hiding his intentions.

They were both adults—there was no need for beating around the bush or playing coy.

Selene looked at him seriously, searching his expression, and quickly realized he meant every word.

For a brief moment, she felt… unexpectedly flustered.

After a long silence, she turned her gaze toward the dark sea.

"When the sun rises," she said calmly, "come to my room."

She didn't wait for William to respond.

Turning away, she left the deck and disappeared into the cabin.

---

Time flew by.

Before William realized it, he had followed Amelia's clan to North America.

They landed in New York.

But after arriving at Amelia's base, William didn't stay.

Instead, he immediately crossed back into the Shameless universe.

When he left, he'd been wearing a down jacket.

Now, back in the South Side, the temperature had risen so much that it felt almost unbearably hot.

"That's not right," William muttered.

"I was in the Underworld world for less than a month. How does it feel like more than half a year passed here?"

Something about the time flow felt off.

Still, he entered the Alibi through the back door, changed into lighter clothes in the restroom, then came out and took a seat near the bar.

"Hey, William," Kevin said, grinning. "Been a few months. You got better-looking."

William was still wearing the black leather jacket he'd casually taken from Amelia's side—classic vampire fashion.

It definitely made him stand out.

"Yeah. I was away for a bit," William replied. "Beer."

Kevin poured him one.

William glanced at the calendar behind the bar.

June 3rd.

He'd skipped nearly five months.

"Guess I really can't jump between worlds casually anymore," he thought.

Time didn't sync.

If he came back next time and everything had completely changed…

He really wouldn't want to lose Fiona and the others.

Not that kind of can't let go.

But that kind of can't let go.

After all—

Fiona still hadn't truly, willingly called him Master yet.

---

Ding—ding.

At that moment, a disheveled, booze-soaked, filthy blond Irish drunk stumbled into the Alibi.

"Come on, Frank!" Kevin snapped. "Could you at least take a shower?!"

The sour stench hit him first thing in the morning.

"For God's sake, Kevin," Frank said grandly, spreading his arms.

"The true meaning of life is accepting who you really are!

Everyone is filthy.

We just pretend to be clean and nice-smelling because society tells us to.

Don't let rules chain your soul, Kevin!

Now give me a beer."

He fished around in his pockets and slapped a five-dollar bill on the counter.

"My God," Kevin muttered—but still took the money and poured him a drink.

Frank took a swig, then squinted at William.

"Well, well. If it isn't my daughter's beloved boyfriend," he sneered.

"Gone for so long and you still dare to come back?

You know how many guys tried to get into Fiona's pants while you were gone?

If it weren't for me, they might've succeeded.

Don't you think you owe me a little… protection fee?"

Frank looked like he wanted William dead—but money made miracles happen.

William didn't even glance at him.

Finding no reaction at all, Frank lost interest and returned to his beer.

"Frank," Kevin said, shaking his head, "seriously—get a job."

"Fuck off. A job?" Frank scoffed.

"Come on, Kevin. Don't you understand how this society works?

What people call 'success'—education, money, status—

those are things people born with resources can get effortlessly.

Poor people? They're locked out from the start.

It's all a trap—

a trap built around who gets to define value in the first place."

He raised his beer.

"And I refuse to play that game."
