Chapter 23 - [Chapter - 23] - A look at the System [Part - 1]

Chapter - 23

"Ughh!" Leo groaned with his face planted flat on the clean polished table. He was bored as hell.

It had been three days.

Three days since he delivered that masterful performance in the training ground.

Three days since he stood above Kaelen with his dagger on his throat.

And three days since he had been confined to this room as a "guest" with all the privileges of a high profile prisoner that rich dudes enjoyed back on Earth.

And it was because the room he was put into had at least improved. Drastically.

He was still in that same remote, grim wing of the castle.

But that damp, cold and dirty hole he had been put into at first was gone.

Right after dealing with Sergeant Kaelen, Leo was escorted by a group of soldiers back to his room, but right after he was escorted, a small army of maids and servants descended upon the room.

The hard, lumpy cot was replaced with a plush bed with high-quality, soft silk sheets. The shaky table was replaced by a heavy, polished desk. Chairs were replaced, the room was dusted and cleaned.

Thick, wine colored carpets were spread on the cold stone floor, and a warm, crackling fire was started in the fireplace.

Now after the servants and maids left, it was by all accounts now a comfortable place to be put in.

Curious, Leo stopped a young maid who came to deliver his meals. Even the meal was much better than before.

He asked her what was going on? Why the special treatment?

The maid told him with hesitation and a blush appeared on his face. It was actually a direct order from Lady Seraphine herself. She had ordered the complete one-eighty of Leo's treatment. He was to be treated as her special guest.

This command however made many of the people in the Lord's court frown. A commoner being given the same level of hospitality was not exactly something why they were in the service of the Lord for.

But it still did not change the fact that he was in house arrest. Two heavily-armored soldiers stood outside his room 24X7 without moving. They were here to make sure Leo did not create another mess for the Lord.

The public confrontation of Kaelen did not make it easy for the Lord who wanted to deal with his daughter's kidnapping in a low key manner, not wanting to blow it up and announce to the whole fucking town.

Leo remembered how Lord Caelum looked at him in the audience hall when he was called there on Lord's orders.

"You… probably want to impress me," Leo frowned, "But I remember telling you that I will ask for your presence when I need you."

"Don't try to be useful. Just be the pretty young boy you are, and stay in that room."

"I will ask for someone to accompany you in your chamber,"

"But whatever happens, you are not allowed to leave that bloody room."

And before Leo could even say anything, the Lord dismissed him.

"You can leave now."

And now back to the present.

Because of pissing the Lord, now for seventy-two hours, Leo had been left to bore himself to death. Back at Earth, he would have loved it. Constant food supply, all alone playing games or watching porn. But now he only had his food and the system. He could do nothing.

So he used the time to learn more about the System.

"Aiva," he said to the empty room, "Pull up the full interface. Let me understand the system a bit."

[Sure, Master]

And just as he commanded, a translucent, blue-hued screen that only he could see materialized in the air before him.

[HOST STATUS]

Name: Leo Dragomir

Race: Human (Mortal)

Level: 2

HP: 1000 / 1000

MP: ?? / ??

Bloodline: Draconic Bloodline (SEALED)

Strength (STR): 24 (Average Human Mortal: 15)

Agility (AGI): 36 (+ 3 from Tunic) (Average Human Mortal: 19)

Stealth (STL) : 30 (+ 5 from Tunic) (Average Human Mortal: 16)

Stamina (STA): 41 (Average Human Mortal: 16)

Intelligence (INT): 51 (Average Human Mortal: 37)

Charisma (CHA): 61 (Average Human Mortal: 25)

"Alright, let's start there," Leo muttered. "My HP is quite high and full, which is nice. It will take them some time to kill me"

"But my stats are... barely above that of a mortal? And that's a Human Mortal. What if there are Vampires, Elves, and other beasts?"

"We do have Goblins that I know of."

"With this strength, aren't I just waiting to die?"

"Good thing my Agility is decent, I might be able to run for my life."

"Hey, Aiva. What other races and beings are in this world?" Leo called out for his in-built know it all AI assistant.

[There are several major races present in Eryndor, Master.]

Leo straightened a bit, "Oh? Tell me. I would rather know what kind of freaky things I am up against before they stomp me into minced meat."

[Yes, master.]

[First there are the Humans. They are the most widespread and adaptable. Average in most attributes but capable of learning and evolving faster than other races. Their strength lies in versatility, numbers and ability to reproduce exponentially.]

[Then we have the proud Elves. They live longer than almost everyone else in the world. They stay close to nature, taking care of it. They excel in magic, archery, and stealth. They have excellent mana control. Elves are divided into multiple tribes like the High Elves, Dark Elves, and Sylvan Elves. There are others as well, but rarely anyone gets to meet them.]

[After that we also have the Dwarves. They are tiny, no more than 4 feet, bulky, strong and bad tempered beings. They are masters of blacksmithing, craftsmanship and rune-forging. Dwarves prefer underground cities and value craftsmanship and gold over anything else.]

[We also have Beastfolks. They are not just a race, but a collection of different races. They are descendants of ancient beast spirits. Strength, agility, and primal instincts define them. Different races can be wolfmen, tigermen, foxfolk, and others.]

[Then there are the Vampires. These are cursed immortals who feed on the life essence of others. They are physically very powerful and are capable of regeneration, but sunlight and holy energy can weaken them. They usually live in secluded areas and like Elves, prefer not to engage with any other race directly.]

[Next up there are also Orcs and Goblins. Both of them are savage beats with limited intelligence and are driven by primal instincts. Both of them are lustful beings and usually target human women to breed with them.]

[Then we have the mighty Dragons and the Dragonoids. There is nothing much to say about the Dragons. Everything you know about them is probably true. Dragonoids, on the other hand, are beings with traces of draconic blood. Their power depends on how pure the bloodline is. Most are hybrids birthed by dragons mating with other races.]

[There are also other races, master. If you want, I can continue.]

"No need. This is enough for now." Leo shook his head.

"So, we have elves with magic, blood sucking vampires, beast tribes with muscles, dwarves with axes, and goblins and orcs with the urge to breed like cockroaches. Great. And I am sitting here with average human stats and no magic."

[Don't sell yourself short master. You are slightly above average.]

"You are getting cheeky now," Leo smirked

Then he turned his attention to the MP: ?? / ??. It was a bit odd. He never saw this in any of the games he had played.

"Aiva, what's the deal with the question marks?"

Aiva's calm, feminine voice echoed in his mind.

[Master, MP, or Mana Points, is currently locked.]

[This will become available only when the Host acquires a mana-based class, such as a Mage, or a specific mana-based skill.]

[As your current abilities are purely physical, you have no mana inside your body to measure.]

"So I am just a brute for now." Leo shrugged and then turned his attention to the inventory.

He had to check what all he had stored with him which he can use when the time arises.
