"But now, the one leading the westward journey is the transformed Buddha of Shakyamuni, that World-Honored One Tathagata, Blessed Life Buddha... and so forth."
He paused for a moment, seemingly having an epiphany:
"Some time ago, Laozi ventured westward out of Hangu Pass. Initially, I was puzzled as to how the Supreme couldn't interfere with the present world, and how my granduncle managed to descend with an incarnation."
"Could it be that this Laozi is the Central Pole Sect Leader? And the current World-Honored Tathagata is the result of the Transformed Buddha of Laozi, rather than Shakyamuni Buddha?"
Zhang Fusheng smiled and nodded, indeed, Daluo is not dull, all got it right.
He calmly said:
"Indeed it is."
Zhang Fusheng tried to be as concise as possible—say more, make more mistakes; say less, make fewer mistakes—to prevent Guang Chengzi from noticing any clues and sensing anything amiss.
