The Wizards from the Four Great Powers queued in and out, some with spring in their steps, others with bruised faces—the latter usually having faced a Twin of similar strength.
But such unfortunate folks were in the minority.
The Wizards from the Parallel Worlds shifted from initial wariness and resistance, to eager anticipation, and now bringing their families along, a change in attitude so quick it left Jeming with a sense of wonder.
The change began with the first batch of Wizards who signed contracts.
Those haggard, crazed-looking Parallel World Wizards seemed like different people the day after signing the contract.
They wore newly issued Magic Robes from their Twins, visibly healthier, eating the free food provided by the Dueling Arena, sitting in the audience cheering for those they knew.
