"Uuuggghhh..." Amara let out a sigh so long and so dramatic that even she surprised herself. Theon, who had been shutting down his monitor, didn't miss a beat.
"Whoa. That bad, huh?" he teased, raising one eyebrow with that playful grin he seemed to always carry around.
She felt her cheeks heat almost instantly. "No, no… it's not… I mean…" She pressed her lips together, fiddling with her tote bag's strap. "Just… tired, I guess."
"Well… you survived your first day. Barely. But you did survive." He shrugged casually, pushing some papers into a neat stack. "Just keep one thing in mind, try to memorize his schedule. All of it. Like, tattoo it somewhere in your brain. And always double check. No… triple check."
"I'll try," she mumbled, even though she wasn't sure her brain had the space for tattooing anything.
