Chapter 15 - "A Seven-Day War and a New World"

________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Night had fallen. Since Roxy and Morgan were busy "studying" together in the presidential suite, Alex didn't bother asking her to come teach him magic. If he called Roxy over, Morgan would tag along, and then Merlin would start messing around again. No thanks.

After a hot shower, room service brought dinner.Everyone gathered around the table. As they ate, Hestia spoke up between bites.

"The Holy Grail War only lasts seven days. Once it's over, how about visiting my world? We've got dungeons there—you could train inside and level up faster."

Merlin and Morgan already knew Hestia wasn't from the Type-Moon world, so there was no need to hide it anymore. As long as no one mentioned the secret chat group, it was fine.

"That's actually a great idea," Alex said, eyes lighting up.

He'd always wanted to see another world like Danmachi. After the Fourth Holy Grail War ended, there'd be nothing left to do here anyway. The Fifth War was still ten years away—no point wasting time waiting around.

"Perfect! When the time comes, I'll post a long-term mission in the group," Hestia said cheerfully. "You, Miko Yotsuya, and Saeko Busujima can all accept it and come over."

In the chat group, the three of them were the only "normal" humans, so they'd all joined Hestia's familia. Alex, being Chinese, had caught Luo Hao's attention and received her personal tutelage—without needing to pay anything in return. At the same time, Hestia also looked after him as one of her followers.

Between the two of them, Alex's strength had skyrocketed in no time.Yotsuya and Saeko could only sit in the chat and seethe with envy.

Then Merlin suddenly chimed in.

"Master, can I come to that other world too?"

"Of course," Alex said with a grin. "But you'll have to find a way to stay after the Holy Grail War ends."

He already had a plan for that—using the black mud within the Grail—but there was no need to tell her now. Better to let her figure it out herself, or she'd just get restless and start poking at things.

"Don't worry, I've got that covered!" Merlin said excitedly.

She'd lived for so long and never been to another world—just the thought thrilled her.

Morgan, seeing Merlin get permission to travel, turned to glance meaningfully at her own Master, Roxy. But Roxy was too busy eating to notice.

Morgan coughed twice. At once, all eyes turned toward her—including Roxy's.

"What's wrong?" Roxy asked, puzzled.

Morgan hesitated, finding it a little awkward to admit she wanted to go too.She was a queen, after all—should she really have to say it herself?Honestly, her vassal was hopeless. Couldn't even read her queen's mind!

Alex couldn't help but chuckle at the pair's silent exchange.

He swallowed his food and said casually,

"If you want to come too, Morgan, just wait until the Holy Grail War's over. Have Roxy transfer her Command Seals to me, and I'll take both you and Merlin with me."

Roxy finally realized what Morgan's coughs had meant and smiled.

"That's fine by me. Once the war's over, I'll be leaving anyway. You can go with Alex to Hestia's world."

Morgan didn't answer right away. She looked at Roxy, then at Alex, before finally nodding.Seeing her agree, Alex grinned inwardly.

Then Luo Hao, who had been quiet until now, spoke up.

"When your strength is sufficient, come to my world. I'll prepare a Heretic God for you to slay."

Alex froze mid-breath.After a second, he stammered,

"Wait, Sect Leader Luo… you mean you want me to kill a god?"

Luo Hao nodded calmly.

"Yes. Think of it as your graduation test."

Alex swallowed hard. The world of Campione was one ruled by destiny—every godslayer chosen by fate itself.Could an outsider like him even hope to slay a god?

Sure, in the original story, Kusanagi Godou pulled it off as a regular guy—but that was because he got lucky and had Prometheus' Grimoire. The war god Verethragna had even left a fragment of himself intentionally incomplete, just to enjoy a good fight.Godou had basically stumbled into an open goal.

But someone not chosen by fate? To kill a god… how powerful would he need to be?Maybe if he raised his blessing to Level 10, he could give it a shot.

"What's wrong? Are you afraid?" Luo Hao frowned slightly.

Alex took a deep breath, eyes firm.

"No. I'm not afraid."

"Good! That's the spirit of a son of Huaxia!"

Luo Hao's expression softened into a proud smile.

Everyone else just stared at the two of them, stunned. They were seriously talking about slaying gods like it was no big deal.

Merlin in particular was speechless—Luo Hao reminded her of someone from the Shadow Kingdom.Esdeath's eyes, on the other hand, were blazing with excitement.

To hunt gods as prey…

The thought alone sent her blood boiling. The warrior instincts of the Balteus tribe roared to life within her.

But her current strength wasn't enough. She needed to grow stronger—to one day hunt divine beings herself.Aside from learning Type-Moon magic, the only real way was to join Hestia's familia.

Yet her sadistic pride wouldn't let her kneel before any god—least of all one she intended to kill someday.Still, she had no other options.

Meanwhile, Hestia puffed up her cheeks in annoyance. That infuriating woman! How dare she tell her Alex to go slay gods!

Alex stood and bowed respectfully.

"Sect Leader Luo, I'll never forget your kindness and guidance."

Luo Hao smiled, setting her chopsticks down and tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"I'm a few years older than you. Let's call each other brother and sister from now on."

Alex blinked. If he remembered right, Luo Hao was from the late Qing dynasty—which meant she was over two hundred years old by now."A few years older," huh? Yeah, right. More like three centuries older, almost old enough to inherit a dynasty.

Still, he didn't let that show on his face. He smiled brightly and said,

"Got it, Sis."

"Good." Luo Hao nodded in satisfaction.

After dinner, Alex hit the gym, walking lightly on the treadmill to digest. As he walked, he ran through the Fate/Zero storyline in his head.

The Holy Grail War had officially begun, and he wasn't about to let himself get blindsided. The more he thought about it, the more one thing bothered him—Sakura's tragic fate.

"Crap, how could I forget that?!"

He jumped off the treadmill. Whatever else was going on could wait—saving Sakura came first.

Damn it, Tokiomi Tohsaka… this is all your fault!

"..."
