I met up with prof. Ashleigh in the parking lot tapping her feet impatiently.
"well that took forever" she voiced as i got closer.
"sorry about that" i muttered rolling my eyes. then i caught something flash in her eyes and the stiffness in her body but it came and went too quickly, as if i had imagined it.
"well we'll be taking my car because i'll be driving" i said already walking to my car, then i heard her let out a frustrated sigh and i chuckled to myself.
The drive to the estate was tense, inside the car felt suffocating due to prof. Ashleigh cold aura. I turned on the music to ease the cold atmosphere but it was immediately turned down.
"I like quiet" she said glaring at me. i could only let out and exhausted sigh cause the drive ahead was going to be a long one.
30 min later we arrived at the estate. "so what's your taste or preference?" i asked her as we got out from the car so I'll know which building to take her.
"I like plain, simple, spacious, space and solemn away from people" she replied with her neutral expression.
I could only look at her wide eyed and mouth agape and thought to myself why will a human want to stay away from their fellow humans, regaining my composure i waked toward the north part of the estate with her tailing behind me to get her description.
I finally came to a stop at a a building a little distance from other buildings surrounding it she clearly said she needed space. it was painted white just like the rest buildings, having an open spacious garage by the left side, a balcony with glass railings, a single small palm tree by the side and cool yellow lights that illuminated the surroundings and small pathway.
I directed her inside the building to a large sitting room fully equipped, well literally the house is equipped already, with walls painted blue, then the open space kitchen aisle built and designed with black marbles tiles, then the backyard with a private large pool. she hummed seeming quite impressed as everything was quite plain and simple. Then we went to the bedrooms, first was the guest room with its private bathroom and a walk in closet, then off to the master bedroom, on getting in she let out a loud shriek.
"What in the actual fuck is this?" she asked to my confusion.
"why in the hell is it painted yellow, i hate bright colors miss brook" she said now glaring angrily at me
"well excuse me i didn't paint this rooms myself and neither did i know you allergic to colors" i replied matching her energy
"fine i'm ok with the place, but i'll be wanting little adjustment with will be the paintings. first this room should be painted with a mixture of black and grey and for the sitting room plain grey, the kitchen cabinet which are in wooden colors changed to ash or grey and if the whole floors can be changed I'll prefer them in plain ash" she ranted with a straight face. i just watched her with wide eyed.
"How can someone be so cold and colorless" i muttered to myself exasperated.
"Did i hear something miss brook"
"No, nothing professor"
"Good"
"well yes we can work on that and make sure everything to your liking" i said as left the room heading downstairs.
"perfect, so how much is the cost" she asked with a poker face.
"well plus your changes it estimate to two million dollars" i said shrinking a little from the price myself
"sure send me the account details, i'll be the doing the transfer now" she said with a straight face already walking out of the building headed to the car.
I watched her back mouth agape. Isn't she too rich for a professor.
"wait seriously, most people pay twice or thrice and you just paying once" i said as i tried to catch up with her steps and i ended up tripping now going to fall face flat, i immediately close my eyes waiting for the impact but nothing came. closely i opened my eyes and noticed prof. Ashleigh had caught me with her hands holding my waist firmly.
"You should watch your steps brook" she said seemingly annoyed and immediately let me go "and i'm not just a professor don't look me less now take me back i got somewhere to be" she added entering the car with an annoyed expression
God she's alot. i got into the car and drove us back to the company.
