Sallie's POV
Kevin's face turned ghost-white as he collapsed onto the floor. His usually immaculate hair fell in tangled strands across his forehead.
"I didn't know. I didn't know it was..." The words tumbled from his lips like a broken record, as if that pathetic excuse could somehow fix everything.
I cut through his rambling. "You didn't know, so what? I'm supposed to just forgive you for selling me out? Act like nothing happened and go back to being your sweet little sister? You actually think that's how this works?"
Kevin sat there speechless, unable to fire back. Because deep down, that's exactly what he'd been hoping for. But under my cold stare, he couldn't bring himself to voice that selfish expectation.
For the first time in his privileged life, Kevin—who'd grown up with everything handed to him on a silver platter—looked completely crushed.
After what felt like forever, he finally spoke. "What do you want from me? What will make you forgive me?"
